That's got to be one of, if not the best wifi camera I've ever seen. Wifi and the word delay should be together. Lagging and glitches are what I get with most wifi cameras. That looks really good. If nouthing else works but that camera and good signal at long range... I call that a win. I wish you could have done a range test. I would love to see that camera far out. Good review. Thanks Benny
So far, the F11 GIM2, the HOLYSTONE HS 600 and this one has the 3km range for both control and WiFi video. As you see here, I’m actually showing you the recorded video from my iPad which is not the same as the Sd card recording. Of course the Sd card recording will not have any drop frames since it records directly but the app recording is via WiFi and you see that there are zero dropped frames as well. I’m sure a range Test is coming soon :). Thanks!
@@RCEscape that's what I've been looking for. I want a wifi camera drone, long range, 3 axis humble, with banging distance camera range that isn't crap. It always happens at that critical moment. Blackout or delay!!!! And then, in my case!!! CRASH!!! 5.8 has been great, but only so much you can do with it. I'll be watching, you put out really good video. Thanks Ben
@@bennycooke7497 There’s now three to choose from. The F11 GIM2, HOLYSTONE HS600 and this one the SJRC F7 4k Pro. I just got back from flying the F7 at the park to record some 4k footage and it isn’t quite as good as the F11 GIM2 or the HS600 as far as the video footage quality is concerned but for the price, you can’t complain. But if you want the sportiest of those three, this is the one. The one thing I wish this one did is in speed number one, I wish it was slower to capture slower footage. You could pitch less and throttle less but it isn’t easy to hold a mid position on the sticks rock solid like a full pitch position.
good stuff again, Mr. Escape! about a year ago I bought an SJRC F11 4K Pro largely based on your review (my first drone). Been pretty pleased with it so far - def a good starter. I have experienced it's yaw control to be pretty 'spongy' though - often slow to respond to input when hovering, and then going fast. Couple that with a lag in the wifi image transmission, and it's made targetting the camera orientation pretty difficult sometimes. Hard to tell from this video whether there is much lag in the video transmission in this model. Thoughts there? And/or relative to how clear an upgrade this is, or isn't, compared to the F11 4K pro? (of course, I"ll be watching your distance test momentarily. that def sounds like an upgrade) Thanks, and continued happy flying!
Looks so similar to the MJX Bugs B20. You reviewed the Bugs B12 some time ago. However i feel the Bugs B20 is a far better drone. Video footage is far more stable than this JJRC F7. The Bugs B20 has no 3 axis gimbal though, only EIS. But you would swear it had a gimbal. Nice video, thank you.👍
I don’t have an MJX B20 to compare but I would have to say this is an upgrade to the B20. It has 3km range, EIS and a three axis gimbal. This easily beats the B12 and the B12 is basically the same as the B20 in the camera department. So far, this is the best budget 3km drone to beat. The HOLYSTONE HS600 and the F11 GIM2 are comparable but not the price :)
Great video again thanks!!! Question for you... I have the F11 and Gim 2 the microphone button on the right corner how does that work? Can I not record sound thru my phone when recording video? Thanks for any help with this!!!! Have a great day!!!
RC Escape you are the man!!! That worked like you said!!! All this time I couldn't get sound and 5 minutes after reading your comment I got sound!!! Thanks for your help!!!
That is interesting. Seems like a well built drone but the software seems primitive at best. That long connection time and video glitches indicates the coding is just not efficient. Or perhaps the processing power in the drone is the bottleneck. The video quality is pretty good. A bit oversaturated for my tastes. The flow of the video isn't very smooth but that is the 720 wifi feed. I bet the recorded video is a lot smoother. That gimbal not staying level is common for cheaper drones. But that controller looks quite good. At $200 it just isn't good enough. Maybe for $150 on sale this is a good casual use drone. I bought a Mavic Mini refurbished for $250 and it's 2.7k video looks better than the 4k of cheaper drones. Not over saturated and the photos are crisp. And of course it's gimbal is flawless. For about the same money, the Mavic is a superior product as the software is rock solid (as long as you have a 64 bit Droid). You don't even need to recalibrate if you launch from the same spot often. And the tablet or phone you connect is ONLY for the video display which isn't done via a wifi connection directly to the phone. The remote does the signal stuff and merely uses the attached device as a screen. Why rcs still use wifi on phones doesn't make sense as Mavic figured out how to make it work in a cheap drone. The F11 gim costs a lot more but seems to be better than this. More stable and the software seems to work faster with that F7 drone. Perhaps the video processing is faster due to better hardware.
I sure wish they would get away from wifi/cell phone drones....get back to an all in one style in controller screen/GPS/FPV....the tech is there for long range flight/receiver and video needs to make it happen and still have a clear vid link and signal link without the cell/wifi ties, I am sure
I do understand your point of view but now with 3km control range and 3km WiFi FPV video range with EIS and a three axis gimbal, the consumer target base is humongous with everyone already having a smart phone or tablet to use with this type of system. That is the reason they are not staying away from WiFi/cell phone drones. There’s more money to be made with this type of a system.
Thanks! No, I'm afraid not. The connection process is totally different. The F11 pro 4K wifi will connect directly to the phone or device used but these 3km drones will not. They will connect to the remote controller and then the phone or device will then connect to the remote controller.
I got this drone for Christmas and every time I try to play any of the recorded videos on my pc they are always corrupted does anyone know how to fix this, I can still view the videos recorded to my phone just not the ones saved to the sd card
Yes, it is basically the same but the way it connects is different. It doesn't connect directly to the phone but connects via the remote controller and thus the 3km range.
