You're so right. It's the FF Lens cost on top of body cost that deters me from a move to FF. It's getting to be great value at today's discounted prices and unless one is doing fast action sports wildlife who really needs PDAF? Whatever MFT camera body one chooses it's still a massive savings staying with MFT. I actually am hoping for the GH7 but no matter what the price (within reason) at least I will save thousands by not requiring further additional and expensive FF lenses. Exciting times for cameras.
The lenses are a lot heavier as well. Even though the s5iix body is about the same weight as the gh6 I had to upgrade my gimbal as well to take the weight of the body and lens. I was using a Ronin SC for my GH6 and the gimbal handled it well. could not take the weight of the S5iix with the lens so I upgraded to an RS3 Pro which cost me even more money. I am looking forward to the GH7. I hope it has dual base ISO. Thanks for the comment and watching and yes, it is an exciting time for cameras.
Pdaf is useful for gimbal work. Tap the subject on the screen and then use the gimbal while letting the camera nail the focus
I appreciate the straight forward approach.
Thanks
We'll see what new stuff comes out. I have the GH6 myself.
GH6 is an outstanding camera. I upgraded to the S5iix because I wanted a full frame but the my GH6 compliments it extremely well. If I didn't want the full frame I would have waited to see if the GH7 comes out. Thanks for the comment and watching!
@@RoostersRoadTripsCo I think I'll stay with a micro 4/3 system and grab the GH7 whenever that's out, autofocus isn't such a big deal, pdaf would help with smoother focusing. I don't have to buy a whole new set of lenses by staying with the GH line.
As a prior GH6 Owner and now multi S5 II The cost, size and weight of the LUMIX S Primes are not a deterrent from stepping in to Full Frame. No regrets from moving up.
I also have a s5iix. I love the full frame as well.
Great advice
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome!
I’m holding steady holding out for a gh7 or a small body camera that’s almost a mini g9 ii. I already have a g7, gh5 and Sony a7s iii
That is probably a good idea. The GH7 will be an awesome camera. Thanks for the comment and watching.
Great video! Love my GH6. Just a tip... black shirts and white pets don't mix.... :)
lol, I forgot to change my shirt after playing with the pups. Thanks for watching!
@@RoostersRoadTripsCo Haha... happens to us all. If nothing else its a huge compliment to the quality of your video and RUclips Export settings for us to see such detail.

For some reason I feel like wanting to tape-off those dog hairs off the shirt lol. Overall amazing reveiw on the GH6 though!
You should! I just got done playing with the pups and forgot to change my shirt before the video. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the visit
Thanks for the interesting video! However, I am very distracted by the fact that there is so much hair on your shirt..... It's not hard to take a couple minutes and clean yourself up before shooting. Right?
Sorry about the hair. Forgot to change my shirt after playing with the pups. Thanks for watching!
I hope lumix come out with the S35 sensor.
I am unfamiliar with that sensor. What are the benefits?
good info

Good video 😊

I used the GH6 since it came out and switched to the G9-II. Here are the important differences for me:
It's lighter. I use the cameras for several week long bicycle trips. Size and weight is important.
DR-Boost work at all ISO-values (up to 60 fps). It's not necessary to decide between ISO 100 and DR-Boost with heavy ND-Filters.
The AF is much better (very nice to have but I could live with the GH5 and GH6 for the last 7 years)
The stabilization is further improved. Especially the e-stabilization on top is a huge step forward when you walk while filming.
The GH6 has still an advantage with it's fan that allows reliable continuous operation for very long times. I would like to have a CFExpress card in the G9-II. Also the screen is more versatile and there are some special functions for film making like time code but I don't need that.
Thanks for the comment. I haven't had the pleasure of using the G9ii. I bet it is nice. I love the flip screen on the gh6. Thanks for watching.
Totally agree with you! 👍
Thanks for watching
We’re all thinking about the cat hair right
Dog hair. Forgot to change my shirt after playing with the pups. Sorry. Thanks for watching!
