Ice Fishing for BIG WALLEYE, PIKE and MUSKY

- Today I head out ice fishing on the Chippewa Flowage near Hayward Wisconsin. On this body of water walleye and musky season close in the end of November so we only have a few days left to target these fish. I am in search of big walleyes and pike and I am using set lines with live bait. Early ice fishing can be a blast when you are fishing an area which is loaded with predators. This was an exciting afternoon of big fish! Ice fishing for walleyes is always my favorite all winter long and it is even cooler when you can catch big pike and muskies in the mix.
Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more!

Anybody else see the thumbnail and automatically think "that's what she said"? Or is it just me and my juvenile brain 😀 Great vid dude!
Pig 🤣🤣🤣
🤪
Good thing I’m not the only one
Me me I did
Great video! Some of the best footage and commentary. No bull just fishing and breaking down how your doing it. I’ll be watching and hopefully fishing soon thanks!
Perfect video. You are a master educator. So much learned. Thank you. Just bring us with you and we will learn. Thank you.
Tom that's one of the coolest ice fishing videos I've ever seen!
Quick, put that rod up for sale on Ebay... you'll get thousands! The magic rod! LOL! Great video Tom! Totally jealous...
The fish of 2 casts apparently 😂
Awesome job, thank you !
That was amazing!
Looking forward to the early ice. Great video!
I needed this video
Dude, you're Killin' it!🤘
This video reminds me so much of what happens to us here in Michigan. Every spring while walleye fishing the Detroit river, someone always hooks up with a big Musky! It is a lot of fun trying to land them on 6 to 8 pound test!
Nice! Fun to watch.
Just the video i needed. Great job. Made my lunch hour that much better.
Amazing Fishing with beautiful Fish, Congratulations!
This place is very good for Fishing.
*Hug!!!* 👍🎣
Super video !! Thanks
I really enjoyed that! Thank you👍👍
Love the good ole flowage
Awesome video. Great info.
These vids are top quality. Great work man, and please be safe this season.
Tha ks for watching
Just saw your videos watching another video. Your vids are lit 🔥!
Heroic, edge of my seat.
Crazy the multi species you caught. Also can really see how your videos and production have evolved. Keep it up ! Hooked Up Fish On!
I wish we had lakes in ct with walleye, pike, and Muskie in it. Great multi species video buddy!
I honestly felt like it was me when you were fighting that first musky.i just sank when you got bit off..what an awesome video tom..you just rock on the hardwater.
Lesson of the day, make the hole big enough to land the fish you might catch, not just the one your after. Good day
I like that
Great video!
Excellent video! I like how you had video from both angles playing at once. Definitely a fun episode to watch. Hated to see you lose the first musky though
What a crazy day! Awesome video Tom!
Tha ks for watching
Awesome video. Can't wait to go set some ifishpro
Really appreciate the info on what kind of spot/structure your fishing on at the beginning!
Thumbs up!! Awesome video
so glad you made the decision to chip the hole bigger took the words out of my mouth.
Woulda felt pretty stupid if I didn't
I love your vids
Wow. A freshwater grand slam through the ice - so very cool. Those Ifish Pro rods are awesome. Much more enjoyable to reel on them than to handline up the fish (At least in my opinion).
I need to catch one of these!
Nice 🎣👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great vid. Awesome channel
Thanks
man that looks fun! I gotta get out again! nice work Tom
Thanks
great vid bigger holes a must tho lol
NICE save on that rod! Too close for my comfort.. how lucky, 2 fish of 10K casts without even casting.. nice fish!! Great vid!
Very lucky
Awesome video!! I like big fish!
Thanks
I was just wondering if ppl caught muskie through the ice. Nice fish I can't wait for the ice here in southern Michigan
Same thing happened to me when I was walleye fishing couple weeks ago

Tom! That was brutal to watch the snap. We have all been there. What are the odds!
“Didn’t catch too much today” lol you caught two Muskie, a pike and 2 nice walleye I’d say that’s doing alright
3 walleye actually.
Right on man them are some nice fish looked like a blast cant wait to get out there no ice yet here in PA
what part of PA. Lancaster County here. we never get good ice here :(
@@steshar2975 Clarion County
I'm in Wisconsin also but very southeast and no ice around here yet! Great video and beautiful fish. Instantly subscribed!
Thank you for watching
@@TomBoley No problem bro... Keep the videos coming ;)
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!
Omg change your ringer, that was the ringer for my old work phone 😂
Hi Tom, Great vids! Question, what super braid line do you use? piscifun??
I watched your unboxing and just curious what you recommend for mainly walleye and pike do a lot of spoons and picking up some acme rattling jigs. Those rods you had in that video good with the combos they have or just get rods with a good reel setup?
Ok ok. I subbed
I live close to you and I might start going to the flowage more often lmao.
Interesting take away
Heyyyyy I’m in Hayward too but I fish on round lake
Tom what do you for your main line to leader setup also what kind of hooks
Great video! Sub
What line were you using? Also what size rod is best for the ice fish pro ? Thanks and love your channel!
How do you rig for spoon jigging what type of leader do you use? And what size?
Do you use the 1X7 steel leader?
Greetings my friend of course I also see your next video because I subscribed to you .. see you soon my friend 🇩🇪😉👍
What were you using for hook and bait
What kind of line do you use on those Giant fish? And what size is your reel?
Boley you need to join up with Wiebe from uncut angling for a video.
@My name is Steve Rogers lol and who are you
For sure
@@v8consumption i agree lmao
What bait were you using?
What reel is that red and black one
What were you using
What type of line do you use and what Lbs?
There's no such thing as a fish too big for the hole, but you can have a hole too small for the fish.
Are you using an external mic?
Gaff bro.
Where where you on the chippwa flowage.
Is it 1x7 steel leader?
Go to 10'4"... was that fish tagged??
The ice looks thin!?
Tom, could you explain your set up with the iFish pro?
I 2nd that sir!!!
Great vid! Are you going to do a vid on how you set up your tip-up rigs / sucker minnows (big vs. small) - I asked Santa for one of those i-fish pro units!
I'll do a video
Man i wish i was setup for ice fishing
Facebook marketplace and craigslist. That's how I got the majority of my stuff. All paid for by donating plasma too!
We're you out yesterday or was this on Sunday? How's the ice looking in the Hayward area as of today?
Ice is getting sloppy
That a big walleye lol
"No a pike"
Excellent!! Great sound affects!! What do you have Mitch spinning a New Years noise maker? LOL. Nothing better then the sound the Run makes!! Thanks for the show
I live close to Wisconsin
How heavy of a rod would you use on the tip ups
Depends. But ml to mh
Probs would have kept that walleye with it bleeding like that
steveon12 it’ll be fine
I got a 50" on namekogan on a tip up. Had to drop the line and hand drill another 6in hole next the first. Luckily I didn't knick the line.
That's a big fish.
@@TomBoley wish I could post a picture on RUclips. Best of luck to you the rest of the ice season! Love the way you present topics and I'll be watching the whole way. I'm over in Park Falls so it's local too which I love!
When a fish bleeds that that first walleye did it's as good as dead even though it swam away it will be dead it about 15 minutes
Maybe. But maybe not. Definitely would have died if I kept him.
@Tom boley that's so fucking ignorant of course that fish is going to die wtf do the rite thing and knock the fillets off of that fish n toss em n a bath of hot grease
@@bayzhiigomukwahtibbz7315 has a better chance of living going back in the water
@@TomBoley why dont you use barbless hooks when deadsticking ? When they do take the sucker's deep it's way less damaging. People worry that you lose more fish but that's not even an issue. Nice fish.
yeah right. they are tough fish are you kidding me
no way in heck that fish died. and if he did. Pike or musky ATE him. so no wasting anywhere
this guy is a very outdoorsman type fella. you guys know nothing
7:10
Why wouldn’t you keep and eat the ones that are bleeding like that?
They would definitely die if I kept
buy an auger
You dont keep any?
Rarely
@@TomBoley I'll keep panfish more but not walleyes ..just me.. every outing I gotta come home with something....looks like I'll wait till December here in Wisconsin
I created a group on Facebook called wi helpful ice fishing tips for new anglers..join if you want..to give ideas to new anglers ...
How much ice

it is much better if you don't hold the fish as far out as you can, it is really annoying and you can't really tell how big the fish is
Letting them walleyes go seems almost like a crime being committed. Walleyes out of frozen water is the best eating fish in the world...
Great video!
