definitely one of the best shapers currently on the market! i would have liked more info on the slalom and freerace boards because it would have been easier for me to decide between them
Love this series… great format Ben! I watch one every night, kind of relaxing and downshifting, yet a nice digestible piece of information. It’s just so good, just never stop posting these 😊
Love to hear Patrik explain the shapes of his board and how fins, sails, mast and boards work together and how 'optimal' depends on how and where you want to sail. I could see myself sail on Patrik stuff exclusively, if the prices were a lot lower and the boards weren't made at Cobra.
Very valuable series. The exhibitors on site didn't present anything to me in such detail😁. Patrik is likeable because he doesn't have the answer to everything, but overall he has the most broad experience and possibly the largest model range. I've never driven a Patrik and didn't know where to test it.
i think in horizontal movement you should shape the board from front to back as a wing to optimize ground-effect when flying and eventually increase the speed ??
I have a question as someone who has absolutely no idea about foil-boards, and still thinks that lightwind fin-windsurfing should be a thing: would it be possible to use a foil board with any volume (yes, I am also an amateur, which is why I still use volume ;) ), put a long fin (i.e. 60cm+) in it and use a large sail to use it for the days with too little wind for planing on regular fin-equipment, or is the shape and aero/hydrodynamics of a foil board so different that it would not go properly? Because I think that the foil boards resemble the formula boards a lot, and when you look at some light wind boards of some brands, the rough shape of the boards are comparable (imo). Will this setup go planing at all, or is the underwater shape of a foil board just not designed for non-foiling/regular planing? Would be interesting to hear what a shaper thinks about that, from a physics/hydrodynamics point of view contra the selling point of view.
Im not an expert at all but if i remember it correctly the nose of a foil board points more up compared to other boards to avoid nosedives when landing. Im not sure how this Will affect the fin performance, but it is one of the differences between a fin board and a foil board. The iqfoil board also came with a fin to start with (but i dont Think they do anymore), so i Think you should be able to do fin sailing om a foilboard. But as i Said i am not even close to being an expert in this stuff
I want Patrik as german chancelor, minister of foreigns, -finance, and -science. He would easily be better than the current, he just needs to drop wing development.
need more time with patrik....fuck foiling....we want more in depth about wave, fsw, cross and freeride boards because most people ride that and not preformance foil garbage
Well, depends on where you are. For windsurfing on gusty lakes, foiling is an absolute game changer. Patrik as his own brand ambassador is really doing the trick for me. Good marketing and I actually know a bit more now, about foiling.
@@hajda7370 there is plenty of wave content around. Give people a break. I thought it was an entertaining yet enlightening clip. Enjoy the content you get windsurfing needs to be a broad church, as it is quite niche already.
Just coz you’re no good at foils and don’t enjoy it, doesn’t mean others are the same mate. Foils have revolutionised windsurfing so that people can sail almost 365 days a year coz when there’s wind you can fin and if there’s no wind you can foil.
PATRIK is outathisworld...what passion for his products!!!
He is really focust to the details.. Talks surfing no bullshits he knows what he is Talking about. 🤙
Absolutely love these series! Nice to put a face behind the name of every brand
It was a pleasure to listen Mr Patrik.
This man , Patrik, is amazing! I WANT HIS BOARDS
definitely one of the best shapers currently on the market! i would have liked more info on the slalom and freerace boards because it would have been easier for me to decide between them
Very nice to hear how passionate and well thought through the products are!
Patrik has risen up with a fully comprehensive range! Love the explanations and honesty. No nonsense.
Loving this series, Ben. It's interesting to learn about the latest evolutions in windsurfing.
Patrik is gold. Love the in depth info!
More Patrik please! It's so interesting
Patrik definetly knows what he is doing. Thanks for the precise explanation. 👍
Incredible! Even a formula board! Keep it up Patrik!

Now those Defi boards look like a bit of fun! What a range of gear!
So passionate 😊. And I want to say that the Patrick beginner boards are the best we ever used for teaching windsurfing. (and wing handling)
Impressive Patrik, so funny and tons of knowledge about the equipment! Grate report Ben 😊😊
Fabulous interview.
Tons to think about and Patrik is a very entertaining educator! Love the case he made for the Defi boards (not least because they're fin boards!)
Wow! Thanks for sharing with us, loads of hints to reflect on!
I am really enjoying this vlog series and look forward to the next one vlog. Thanks for the great work!
So knowledgeable and great to listen to

Thanks for the video. This man is a crazy worker oh my god !
Ce mec est absolument passionnant !
I've learned a lot from this video. Please consider more in depth technical videos!
Incredible work 😳🙏💪
one word and one word only - EPIC!!!
Terrific and insightful!
So informative love it. 👍🙂
Windsurf / foil professor . When this man speaks I pay attention
I'm sticking Patrik at the top of the list of people I'd like to have a beer with.

Why does the Defi board go better upwind but acceleration is worse ? Which shape details are responsible for these characteristics ?
He really knows his shit, super interesting stuff.
No, he is not a legit engineer. It starts with the harness. Load transfer is the motor behind very sailing vessel.
Defi boards look awesome! Can you elaborate on the shape.
Moin Ben! Today right in time
Great video like to hear everthing that Mr Patrick has to say
Patrik Diethelm
We need to tell us about fin as well!!!

It will take a while, but then you will have something. Very interesting.
Nice Ben, but a bit more attention to PD his windsurfing /fin equipment! 👍🏻😉
Machine, thats the word 😀

lol, more Patrik!
Very interesting, BUT almost nothing on Fins slalom 😰😰

Isn't he Swiss lol
@@robmain9921 Yes, but people with special trades can be germanized very quickly and also keep all their other nationalities.
What´s about riding swell boards from Patrik? Maybe the Patrik Foil A.I.O. WS?
From the Aerodynamik point of View May the tail has a bigger influence
Hey Ben, the mic is missing the goggly eyes! They’ve been missing for a while. Time to come back!
How many boards per model do they have to sell to be profitable?
