Hi. New subscriber here. Long post, sorry...
Excellent presentation and I agree with everything you said. I'm an old, retired Engineer with too many rifles/scopes, BUT, the PRS Genll is my favorite.
I've been using Discovery scopes for 15+ years on a variety of rimfire and centerfire rifles and never had a single issue. As the years went by, the improvements that Discovery has made is just amazing. Before I continue (and NOT wanting the following as a "boast"), the last 2 PRS ED Genll scopes I recently received have several small but thankful changes. The throw lever is now smaller and comes attached and the included rings are the 'new precision' honed variety. Pretty impressive.
SO, my current inventory of newer scopes include:
    3 PRS Gen ll
    1 PRS Gen l
1 PRS Gen ll 5-40X56 (35mm tube) I ordered this one directly from China and it came in 1 week! Not spectacular and even BIGGER!
    4 Arken EP5 5-25X56
    1 Arken EP5 Gen ll 7-35X56
1 DNT 7-35X56 Arken rerlated clone
I have no doubt my favorite is the DNT. Only because the reticle is fully illuminated and the windage marker was moved to make it easier to see. BUT, it is easily 2X-3X the $ of the Discovery. Was it worth it? I don't know but I got the DNT and the Arken Gen ll the same week.
Without a doubt, I 'slightly' prefer the PRS Gen ll to the Arken EP5 5-25X56. It is also what I have seen in MANY RUclips comparisons of the two.
    Just an additional comment.
Being a 'sucker' for bargain optics, I have also purchased 2 additional brands, that have similar specs.
One is the CV Life "Bear Swift". It was less than $200 USA. BUT, the day I took it to my range for sight in, I also brought another rifle that had a brand-NEW Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25X56 ($800). The CV was surprising, and I have since ordered 3 more! Unfortunately, the MIL version has disappeared and only MOA is still available.
Next is the Orcair 5-25X56 for just a few $ more than the CV. Although they state it is from a different OEM, the sales ad for it shows a Discovery 'spec card'. WTH?
The two were fun to experiment with. I no longer hunt, just shoot benchrest on 2 private ranges. I also no longer compete. I just compete against myself. ha ha

I love this scope, I bought myself two of them to mount on my 22-250 and 6 creedmoor. Sweet scope
