Fantastic layout. Some of the finished mini scenes are as good or even better than many O SCALE layouts I have seen. Great running layout too. Thanks for posting. I grieve for this lost layout. Thank you for posting.
I know the feeling. It took me weeks tearing down my set and it is a lot smaller. But the good news is, it’s going to a bigger place. I plan on expanding. You given me a lot of good ideas especially the second level.
I just found this myself. Oh wow! It hurts to think that this magnificent layout has been dismantled. This is a layout most of us O scalers can only dream of. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you for your kind comments, they're greatly appreciated! You have no idea how much it hurt. Started on a new layout and will be running again soon!!!
Really beautiful layout. O Gauge is too big for me and expensive. But I did have Lionel Postwar and had a lot of fun with it. I only have American Flyer Trains now because of size and realism for not too much money. I still like the new Lionel Postwar Santa Fe set that was recently manufactured and would love to have that set. Keep at it and I will always be watching this great layout even tho it is gone now. That God for the video technology we have today.
Great layout. It is always sad to dismantle a layout, and for me it was about four years before I was up and running again after a move. Looking much forward to seeing your next one!
Even though I'm way late to the party lol. If my O gauge layout was huge like this the wife really wouldn't see me in our own house 😆 sad seeing that it has to come down
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear this man. I hope whatever the situation is that you will be able to build another layout. Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to see wonderful work you did with this one.
I love your layout, items, accessories, turntable everything! I don't believe that it's will the disassembly!A pity that he did not have time to know what!!
It may be gone, but thanks to the extensive collection of videos, it lives on in perpetuity just like the prototypes engines and railroads. Another fallen flag! Like all art, model railroads are not meant to be permanent monuments and given the rapid evolution of technology, it is not always a net loss to start over. However, with such a huge collection of O Scale, starting over does require significant space or at least an operations oriented smaller layout with staging tracks. Yards and engine facilities like turntables can be sacrificed for more open mainlines with passing sidings and few city scenes and major industries. Still, cannot fathom the amount of work involved in packing everything up for a move and tearing out the bench work.
R F, Thank you for your courteous comments, they're greatly appreciated! Tear down was a bitch to say the least. Will rebuild but not in 0 scale. I've accumulated a large collection of Marklin H0 over the years, of all their American Prototypes. My basement in my new home is bigger than the previous but I'm going to keep it manageable and not too large. Will post progress in about 6 months or so!
Been a subscriber for a while sad to hear that you are taking it down gave me a lot of ideas for my future layout good luck hope to see a new layout in the future
I really like the up passenger train I do not know the make mth or 3rd rail anyway it looks great the trucks on the cars are not huge like on some other passenger cars.
Just stumbled onto this today (7-3-17). Magnificent! I predict after your fling with HO you will be back. Most guys return to their O roots eventually when their eyes quit working so well :-) Loved your AC power substation @ 1:46 in. Was that a custom-build by you? If not, what was the source?
Sorry, did not see your additional comment regarding the substation. I since finished that piece, it was scratch built with the exception of the transformer. They are made by K-line. See my channel, I did a short video on this piece.
Just found this (3/6/19). That's me! Now 72 with hearing aids & reading glasses. Took down my 30 -yr HO Central Midland for a move 6 yrs ago. Returning to my roots with more space, bench work complete, finally getting track laid down for O & Standard Gages sharing space on a 20'x17' layout.
wow that was some intense building, but you'll make the next one just as great if not better as this is how we progress, just subbed back as would love to follow any progress, all the very best - Garry ( this layout was blooming awesome.) 😉
I just stumbled upon your channel. And was immediately disheartened at the title. I've always had an odd interest in 3 rail O. The rail in the middle bugs my eye a bit but there's something about a large collection of O scale stock, engines filling yards, sidings, spurs and roundhouses.that spells nothing but fun. I sorry that you have to dismantle but, hopefully you can do it again at the new place.
Thank you for the kind comments! That middle rail has been a part of my life for 45 years now and you kind of get used to it, haha! I will rebuild shortly but not of this magnitude.
I agree. The only time that 3rd rail doesn't seem normal is when I go watch 1:1 trains run. When you grow up with it, it's all you've ever seen. Personally, rhough, I do like the various means of de-emphasizing it (Super-O, K-Line's Shadow Rail, GarGraves with black ties, etc.)
Were all the turnouts (switches) on the old layout from Atlas? I can't get over the complexity of your yard and all the crossovers. Well planned and executed. So much like the "real thing" !!
Since you asked, haha, I purchased a new home and am contemplating Marklin HO. I have collected a lot of Marklin's American prototypes over the years. Will have to flip a coin come game day! ;)
sorry to hear that fatboyinpa but your the man so ho or lionel your layout will be grand i like all scales i have tons of n scales and tons of lionel i would love to build layouts for both haha hell ya
Fantastic layout. Some of the finished mini scenes are as good or even better than many O SCALE layouts I have seen. Great running layout too. Thanks for posting. I grieve for this lost layout. Thank you for posting.
Thank you for your kind comments!
Amazing! Simply amazing layout! I can only laugh at the effect that Samuel Lionel Cohen has had on all of us!
I know the feeling. It took me weeks tearing down my set and it is a lot smaller. But the good news is, it’s going to a bigger place. I plan on expanding. You given me a lot of good ideas especially the second level.

Saddened to see it go ,, I feel your pain ,,, but today ,,, new home, , new layout,, hope you rebuild too ,,, wonderful video ,
Dang this almost brought tears to my eyes knowing all that work was going to be torn down. Wonderful layout.
Hi Cesar - from Michigan. 🚂 Great train room, train action & layout. Best wishes.
Hey Gary, thanks a bunch!

Great layout. It is always sad to dismantle a layout, and for me it was about four years before I was up and running again after a move. Looking much forward to seeing your next one!
Thank you! It was very difficult to dismantle. Already started another one :)
Even though I'm way late to the party lol. If my O gauge layout was huge like this the wife really wouldn't see me in our own house 😆 sad seeing that it has to come down

Thanks man! Purchased a new home and will rebuild. Not as big though. Thanks for watching my videos!
Congrats! Where did you get the highway overpasses?
Thanks, I made those with my laser cutter.
I have been looking for something like that
I am sorry to learn that one of my favorite layouts is no more. I wish you the best.
Thanks man! truly miss it!
Like other viewers I stumbled across your video! I'm an HO modeler but your layout is to be envied by all who enjoy the hobby!
Thank you very much for your comment, it was greatly appreciated!
Awesome layout. Sorry to see it go.
I love your layout, items, accessories, turntable everything! I don't believe that it's will the disassembly!A pity that he did not have time to know what!!
Thank you Leandro for the kind words. I hope you fly in for the April TCA show. Your bedroom is ready for you and Edvania! Stay well friend!
love this layout!!! Nice work Cesar!!!!
Thanks for the comments Chuck!

WOW, what a fantastic layout! It must have killed you to dismantle it! Anyways, good luck and thanks for the video!
Thank you Bill! It was gut wrenching. 13 years of work gone in a matter of weeks.
Great layout, a shame you had to take it down. I really like target signals!
Thank you for you comments! The signals are Atlas.
This is indeed a sad situation. All this work, and you have to abandon the layout and lift your rail ?
Been a subscriber for a while sad to hear that you are taking it down gave me a lot of ideas for my future layout good luck hope to see a new layout in the future
Thank you for your kind comments, they're greatly appreciated!

Hi David, those are K-Line 18" cars pulled by Lionel E-9 ABA.
Just stumbled onto this today (7-3-17). Magnificent! I predict after your fling with HO you will be back. Most guys return to their O roots eventually when their eyes quit working so well :-)
Loved your AC power substation @ 1:46 in. Was that a custom-build by you? If not, what was the source?
Thank you for your comment! Decided on staying in 0 gauge, too much equiptment :)
Would seem to be a wise decision. You HAD a great layout. Hard to think of trying to top it. Best of luck !

A shame this had to be dismantled will you be building anew someplace else?
It was a hard task indeed!😁 Check my channel, I've built a Marklin HO layout now.
thats sucks are you going to build a new one id cry its so cool
Yes, will rebuild! Thanks!
I just stumbled upon your channel. And was immediately disheartened at the title. I've always had an odd interest in 3 rail O. Keep the 3rd rail. The Mike's trains, MTH & Lionel models are just cool. I particularly like the steam engines.
Algernon Magillicutty crazy awesomeness display. I can go to heaven now.
Well expressed!
Damn that’s a lot of items to pack up....
It was brutal!
Nice Layout! I wanna see the Track plan of the new layout. (If you are making another one.)
Thank you! Will rebuild and will show progress of new layout. Probably within the next 12 months.
man i cant wait to see what you do fatboyinpa that was a bad ass layout man and ran so well i run atlas track its the best
Atlas track is excellent but the turnouts can be a little fragile.
Were all the turnouts (switches) on the old layout from Atlas? I can't get over the complexity of your yard and all the crossovers. Well planned and executed. So much like the "real thing" !!
can I have your trains lol
The big question on everyones mind is why are you dismantling such a nice layout and please dont say your going to a smaller scale.
Since you asked, haha, I purchased a new home and am contemplating Marklin HO. I have collected a lot of Marklin's American prototypes over the years. Will have to flip a coin come game day! ;)
Well good luck no matter what you decide and congratulations on the move.
sorry to hear that fatboyinpa but your the man so ho or lionel your layout will be grand i like all scales i have tons of n scales and tons of lionel i would love to build layouts for both haha hell ya
Thanks for the comments!
Do u mean u want have the trains no more are selling them
