If there was, it could be titled, "The Goonies 2: Revenge Of The Fratelli's" where the Fratelli's escape from jail and try to get a revenge on the Goonie kids. Plus, they could get an even bigger revenge on Chunk feeling he stole Sloth from them since Chunk told Sloth that he's (Sloth) going to move in and live with him from now on.
There could have been a sequel and maybe they would have tried to find treasure again but how would they have matched the setting better? Going underground to find a cove with an abandoned ship full of gold and jewels? If they made a sequel it would’ve probably had the same impact as caddyshack 2 compared to the original. A lot of people want the story to go on but a lot of times it doesn’t align especially after years. Sometimes it works well like with cobra Kai continuing the karate kid or el Camino continuing breaking bad, but a lot of times masterpieces are better off left alone not trying to replicate or continue.

Forever! I got to drive through Astoria and onto Cannon Beach a few years back, it was so awesome to walk onto the beach and see "the rocks" in the water there. Highly recommend staying at Cannon Beach
