One thing I have learnt in the Bible is to rejoice when I'm in the face of trials for the sake of Christ because I know that there is a reward waiting for me. Matthew 5:10 says, "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." So, whenever opportunities present themselves, I just remember that there's a promise awaiting me and a cloud of witnesses are watching me, as well as the eyes of the Lord.

@TonyElbows you are not alone. We all do that... That's "Pride", maybe "Fear", speaking. What we need to remember to do is to stop and think about why we are angry and want to pull away. Godbless you chey we are all in the same boat and most of the time we experience the greatest spiritual strength out of our weaknesses. Sensitivity and insecurity is common to all in different degrees. The wonderful thing is that you are aware of it. I used to be very concientious which made me overly sensitive to any negative criticism but i had to learn to not look for affirmation from people because it means there words have a power over you and also that its impossible to please everyone or have everyone like you. simply its learning to be ok with you as you are with your faults and allow your weaknesses to make you depend on God all the more :)

I’m definitely in the midst of a storm at the moment. My oldest son goes on trial for murder next month. And in two months I go back to the doctor to see if I may have prostate cancer. It tough because it seems like my whole life has been in a storm since my youth.
The trials we go through help to mold us into better and Christ-like people. Out of painful trials many people have come to experience God in a very personal way. The suffering we go through builds in us perseverance and character. Trust in God, He will never let you down.

I have been abused all my life emotionally and physically. I have met Jesus in prison when I was 18 years old. I couldn't believe that Jesus loved and died FOR ME! I got out and once again was a part of the world for a long time. I became more broken and bitter. I became pregnant and homeless at 24 and was accepted into a Christian program. I got out and backslide yet again to what I knew. Jesus is now calling me back to him at one of my lowest points in life. My abusive husband was murdered recently and I have been wondering "Why me" a lot lately. All this time Jesus was looking for me with his arms wide open and I have rejected him. I know he forgives me because I have asked for forgiveness. All I want to do is be used for his glory. For his will to be done and for Jesus to use my testimony.

My biggest trial is the one I brought on to myself. God has always blessed my life with everything I've needed to be comfortable. But, I was unfaithful in my marriage and ultimately divorced. The sin I committed brought a terrible storm to my life. My sin caused friends, co workers and family to lose respect for me. I have been shunned and disowned by almost everyone. (Even my 2 children, who are adults now.) I know firsthand the meaning of the term, "You're dead to me". It's as if they never knew me. In my suffering and grief, I continuously cried out to Jesus and began to know Him through his Word and through prayer and his Spirit. He continues to remind me of his Iove for me. I rely on Him now because He is a friend that never leaves, always listens and always forgives. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. I am sorry you have had a hard life with many trials. Most christians and pastors ( yes even Stanley) never think that a storm could be a simple thing like God wants us to just know him...the meeting with God at the mountain was preety scary so much so that the hebrews told Moses to interact with God and leave them out of it ( poor God he just wanted a relationship) so sometumes the " storm " is just the meeting at the mountain ..moses told them not to be scared ..so no matter your storm ..dont be scared

100% true. I am a woodworker and woodturner and in the same fashion when I am turning a beautiful vase or bowl on my lathe, I must cut away all that which does not belong.... I must remove what I might otherwise THINK I’d like to remain because I don’t want to see it end up on my shop floor in pieces. BUT every cut, every curl of wood that comes off is dead weight, it does not bear the image of the final form. Dead weight in the sense that the wages of sin is death and every shaving lawlessness before the face of our Just and Righteous God. I may lament the loss of beautiful wood into shavings as we all do in life when we are being molded into the image of Yeshua, His son; but, that which comes out of the dust is a beautiful and wonderful new creation. In the case of hollow forms/vases in order to make room for that which will be placed into this vessel I must cut out and sand away all that which presently fills the vase and does not make room for the contents to come. In like manner our Creator must do the same for His Holy Spiritual/Ruach HaKodesh to dwell in mankind because our Holy God CANNOT be in the presence of sin. Once one of my vases is in the hands of its rightful owner my work is complete just as when God, our rightful owner, has placed His seal upon us, conforming us to the likeness of His Son and sends us out into the world to spread tidings of joy to all who will behold the light that shines within us. See, if they are not of his will then he will not answer them. I know I smoked 2 packs of cigarettes for almost 20 years of my life. I quit 6 weeks ago cold turkey. Fervently asking him in prayer. I have not smoked 1 cigarette since that day I quit. His thoughts are perfect. He is holy my friend! Ask yourself these three things: 1. Am I truly saved, have I given my life to him. 2. Do I praise his name when I open my eyes in the morning. Thankful he has blessed me with another day. 3. Am I living the life he wants me to live. God bless you 🙏. I will keep you in my prayers!

@TonyElbows you are not alone. We all do that... That's "Pride", maybe "Fear", speaking. What we need to remember to do is to stop and think about why we are angry and want to pull away. Usually it's becoz we don't want to have to face some kind of failure within ourselves or deal with accountability for our actions. Just something to think about.

Sensitivity and insecurity is common to all in different degrees. The wonderful thing is that you are aware of it.
I used to be very concientious which made me overly sensitive to any negative criticism but i had to learn to not look for affirmation from people because it means there words have a power over you and also that its impossible to please everyone or have everyone like you.
simply its learning to be ok with you as you are with your faults and allow your weaknesses to make you depend on God all the more :)

I’m definitely in the midst of a storm at the moment. My oldest son goes on trial for murder next month. And in two months I go back to the doctor to see if I may have prostate cancer. It tough because it seems like my whole life has been in a storm since my youth.

I have been abused all my life emotionally and physically. I have met Jesus in prison when I was 18 years old. I couldn't believe that Jesus loved and died FOR ME! I got out and once again was a part of the world for a long time. I became more broken and bitter. I became pregnant and homeless at 24 and was accepted into a Christian program. I got out and backslide yet again to what I knew.
Jesus is now calling me back to him at one of my lowest points in life. My abusive husband was murdered recently and I have been wondering "Why me" a lot lately. All this time Jesus was looking for me with his arms wide open and I have rejected him. I know he forgives me because I have asked for forgiveness. All I want to do is be used for his glory. For his will to be done and for Jesus to use my testimony.

I’ve had trials my whole life.
My biggest trial is the one I brought on to myself. God has always blessed my life with everything I've needed to be comfortable. But, I was unfaithful in my marriage and ultimately divorced. The sin I committed brought a terrible storm to my life. My sin caused friends, co workers and family to lose respect for me. I have been shunned and disowned by almost everyone. (Even my 2 children, who are adults now.) I know firsthand the meaning of the term, "You're dead to me". It's as if they never knew me. In my suffering and grief, I continuously cried out to Jesus and began to know Him through his Word and through prayer and his Spirit. He continues to remind me of his Iove for me. I rely on Him now because He is a friend that never leaves, always listens and always forgives. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. I am sorry you have had a hard life with many trials. I hope you can find peace. In your brokenness, Jesus is waiting for you to call on Him.

Most christians and pastors ( yes even Stanley) never think that a storm could be a simple thing like God wants us to just know him...the meeting with God at the mountain was preety scary so much so that the hebrews told Moses to interact with God and leave them out of it ( poor God he just wanted a relationship) so sometumes the " storm " is just the meeting at the mountain ..moses told them not to be scared ..so no matter your storm ..dont be scared

100% true. I am a woodworker and woodturner and in the same fashion when I am turning a beautiful vase or bowl on my lathe, I must cut away all that which does not belong.... I must remove what I might otherwise THINK I’d like to remain because I don’t want to see it end up on my shop floor in pieces. BUT every cut, every curl of wood that comes off is dead weight, it does not bear the image of the final form. Dead weight in the sense that the wages of sin is death and every shaving lawlessness before the face of our Just and Righteous God. I may lament the loss of beautiful wood into shavings as we all do in life when we are being molded into the image of Yeshua, His son; but, that which comes out of the dust is a beautiful and wonderful new creation. In the case of hollow forms/vases in order to make room for that which will be placed into this vessel I must cut out and sand away all that which presently fills the vase and does not make room for the contents to come. In like manner our Creator must do the same for His Holy Spiritual/Ruach HaKodesh to dwell in mankind because our Holy God CANNOT be in the presence of sin. Once one of my vases is in the hands of its rightful owner my work is complete just as when God, our rightful owner, has placed His seal upon us, conforming us to the likeness of His Son and sends us out into the world to spread tidings of joy to all who will behold the light that shines within us. Therefore let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and praise your Father who is in Heaven.

I can tell you this, if you have truly given your life to him and made it a point to worship and serve him then he will answer all your prayers in which is meant to be his will. See, if they are not of his will then he will not answer them. I know I smoked 2 packs of cigarettes for almost 20 years of my life. I quit 6 weeks ago cold turkey. Fervently asking him in prayer. I have not smoked 1 cigarette since that day I quit. His thoughts are perfect. He is holy my friend! Ask yourself these three things:
1. Am I truly saved, have I given my life to him.
2. Do I praise his name when I open my eyes in the morning. Thankful he has blessed me with another day.
3. Am I living the life he wants me to live.
