At Knott's they use duct tape around the top of pads where the straps are to hold the pad into place. Also zip ties for shoe laces so they don't shred away fast.
I’ve heard that! I didn’t use them because I don’t have shoe laces on my sliding shoes they are already tight on my feet but if they were looser I would definitely use zip ties or something stronger. Thanks for the tip!
THIS WAS SO HELPFUL dude like actually thank you so much for this this is gonna be the best Halloween I'm 12 btw gatta get started on scarring the crap out of people

i'm a slider, scarowinds was my inspiration, i'm the youngest slider and get a lot of screams from people, i slide in myrtle beach and made a girl cry once
“they dont spark. maybe i’m not putting enough pressure on my hands.” haha bud you need an actual sparker for that. i’d be amazed if you could make that much friction with steel and concrete.... lol but nice video!
For anyone who's going to buy knee caps be sure to buy recaps with them as well because looking at this video it looks like he slides on the base caps which will wear down over time and he'll have to throw out the whole knee pads which is why you have to buy the recaps which are only around $12-15 depends on which ones and where you buy them
@@K3nseiii I just assembled my gloves. I used circular washers, and for the fingertips i used what u used. Is it ok if i put electrical tape on the bottomside of the fingertip things just in case they fall off? I used E6000 but they feel kinda lose.
Yeah you need to get a pair of shoes that you want to use first, and then buy the steel toe boots that I put in the description. After you have both, cut out the steel bits from the boots and attach them on to the outside of your shoes.
Are you talking about the shoes? The steel toes had a protective coating on them so I just kept sliding until it was just steel, then they started to spark.
The steel plates can be found at really any hardware store, and it doesn't have to be the ones I used, you can just get a solid piece of steel or washers to put on your gloves. Here's the link for the boots (www.walmart.com/ip/Brahma-Men-s-Raid-Steel-Toe-Work-Boot/29335396)
@@gabeawars1025 Yep! I think recaps are good for people who plan to use them constantly, but if you're just using them for Halloween and every once in awhile then you don't need them :)
U can but if your using them often and on streets it would be helpful to get recaps for your pads so the actual cap stays nice and u don’t have to keep buying new whole pairs
First, cut the steel toe out of the boot itself. Then use gorilla glue or E6000 to glue it onto the front of the shoes that you want to use. Most of the time, the steel toe is on the inside of the boot, so you'll have to cut it out with a razor blade or something sharp.
1. Get a pair of steel toe boots and the shoes that you want to use. 2. Cut the steel toes out of the boots. 3. Glue the steel toes to the end of the shoes that you want to use. I used gorilla glue, but E6000 is about the same price and worked much better. 4. Have fun!
@@LILFACEGURBER Definitely! I don't use any because I don't use my knee pads that often, but if you're sliding frequently then that would be a great idea.

People use flint for the gloves to makes sparks
Yes
btw for the shoes, use zip ties for laces, it helps a lot and stays tight

Does recaps work on protec
Do you think i could do this on my street scaring teens? Or do you think i could only do it on my property.
Mmm I've just done it out in public. Just make sure not to chase anyone or do anything crazy, you might get in trouble hahaha
@@K3nseiii alr bet. Ive heard by a friend everything is at home depot. Is that true? And how much will it cost in total?

I need to buy knee pads, but they’re sooo expensive...
I would recommend the Pro-Tec Street Knee Pads if you don't have a big budget because they're only about 28$ on Amazon. Hope this helped!
Yea but they don’t have recaps though

Do the size on pro tech run big??

Do you have to get the boots 2 siz up what i usually wear ?
It's been a while, but I think the steel toed boots I got were 1 or 2 sizes bigger than the size I wear normally!

How do we put on the steel toe
1. Get a pair of steel toe boots and the shoes that you want to use.
2. Cut the steel toes out of the boots.
3. Glue the steel toes to the end of the shoes that you want to use. I used gorilla glue, but E6000 is about the same price and worked much better.

Do the protec knee pads slide good
They worked well for me, if I was running fast I would get about 10-15 feet per slide :)
Ok thanks
Can we use baseball gloves??
I don't see why not, just make sure to put something on them. You don't want to just be sliding on the glove :)

Do you still slide
I probably won't slide this year I want to give my knees a break lol but I'm not done!
