My friend just restored a GTO, but not a Judge. I remember driving with him looking for a new/used front bumper. Those suckers are heavy, man! I think they are solid rubber.
Most manufacturers began building new /next year cars in August . So this might have been last 69 built at that plant . Or did the plant close completely ? But 1970 got new styling too .
I've heard that you could get a '69 judge with a 428 under the hood, if you ordered from the right dealer, even with the company wide displacement limit of 400 cid for midsize cars. Like the Yenko super cars. Can anyone confirm or debunk this? I'd really like to know. Maybe there is one in the brother's collection...
The 428 large journal pontiac v8 engine was produced from '67 to '69 for the full size cars in the '68 and '69 model years. It's a rare engine, yes, but they were built and installed in full size cars. I have seen articles claiming that some dealers installed a few in GTO's but I've never seen an example of this.
Yes, that's one of the places I've read about it. Another source I came across years ago (can't remember where anymore) claimed that the 428 blocks were built with the ram air IV cam, heads and intake and installed in a few GTO's. Like you said, until an example is produced, or at very least some paperwork, it's hard to believe.
I had a 67 Parisean in BC Canada with a 327. A friend of mine had the same car with a 428 and Hurst 4 speed. I don't think the GTO'S got a 428. In Canada things were different.
go look up Legendary motor cars muscle car shoot out you will see a Royal Bobcat GTO stomp a Yenko 427 Nova, a Baldwin Motion Camaro, an A12 road runner an AMC hurst Scrambler an shelby gt500 all on friggin bias ply tires so that's why the GTO is legendary .
Ahhh just the way it was intended to look. No ugly rims , no stupid upholstery , no "custom" stripes just a pure beauty!!!!
I just click on the "like" any time one of Kevin's episodes air as i know they are all awesome. This is a cool ride!
maaan the advertisements were so good back in the day the way it's written makes some one imagine the car without even looking at it in real life!!
"The Judge can be bought"?
Cheesy
"Here come the Judge"?
Guess I had to be there.
Absolutely beautiful Pontiac GTO
I was exactly 50 days old when the last 69' Judge rolled off the assembly line in Michigan. Born on 6-19-1969 in Caro, Michigan!
back in time thats when made real cars
Another great tire shredding burnout...curtesy of Pontiac!
Two thumbs up for yet another great episode.
Looked closely, One legged burn out.
For $650.00 exchange, Royal Pontiac in Royal Oak, Michigan would install a special 428 engine in your 68' GTO. It was called the Royal Bobcat.
They did some Royal Bobcat 428 Firebird's too. They are even more rare than the Bobcat GTO's though. Probably only a handful of them still exist
I was told only 14 made with the 428.Had a 69...Talk about power.
@azcappra.. I would have ask them to install a Ram Air 5 engine.. Yee ha!!!
The Judge can be Bought
- That freaked out the Law Society
My friend just restored a GTO, but not a Judge. I remember driving with him looking for a new/used front bumper. Those suckers are heavy, man! I think they are solid rubber.
did he say 69 was the last year for the judge? I thought it was 69-71? I always wanted Pontiac to do so much more with the 428.
Most manufacturers began building new /next year cars in August . So this might have been last 69 built at that plant . Or did the plant close completely ? But 1970 got new styling too .
Nice ride. Another great show.
That's a nice engine color.
Nice GTO . code 67 burgundy . needs a hood tach and parchment 257 interior.
Summer sun 1969 Grand Beach cruise. This one will turn all the bikini's heads as it did in the day.
I give the owner a 10 for doing the smokey burnout
Not sure I'd characterize this as a "special order color" considering it was offered on any Judge after the set of Carousel Red Judges were produced.
No tach on a 4 speed Pontiac, that is living on the edge.
The GTO Judge factory option was also produced in 1970 - 71.
It's beautiful.
The GTO got trim rings on the rally wheels, but the Judge didn't.
"Morrokide." Shades of the Cordoba's "rich, Corinthian leather."
That looks VERY original....nice!
Sweet sweet judge.......
KINDA LIKE CHARGER 500 with exposed headlights but l love the hide aways
The judge can be bought is still relevant today. 🤣
Interesting
Definitely needs a black top
Hi Dan, Dale Long.
Vin number? 00000108? Super Rare if it is...
Have you done A 1971 Shelby GT 500 yet? If not that can be a video Suggestion.
Never built one.

There has never been a 428 in a Pontiac ever

Yeah, a lot of the Canadian Pontiacs (and Olds' ) were built with Chevy engines.
Morrokide pronounced like the country "Morroco"
nobody wants air in a muscle car.
Is a 1960s Chrystler 500 considered a muscle car? That always got me confused.
Of course you're confused - it was called the "300."
Not really. The 1955-56 Chrysler 300 was the very first muscle car though. The later ones were big full size luxury cars
i thought 1972 was the year of the GTO JUDGE ?
1969 was the first year for gto to have the judge option introduced, the option was offered !969,1970,1971
Judge's were only built between 1969-71
What exactly is the fascination with the GTO? That 389-3 deuce could hardly keep up with Chevelle 396 single quad! So why the mass fascination?

I had a 69 428.
Think the maketing people should have stayed off peyote
No Tach on the hood for this?
This is a GTO The Judge , not GTO Judge .
Um, no.
74waslest year for GTO
Woops... I ment a 300. I keep getting the Coronet 500 and the Chrystler 300 mixed up because they where both made by General Motors.
You are still confused, The 500 was made by Subaru and the 300 was made by Datsun.
There's no 't' in Chrysler.
gto s got too big
They got ugly as fuck, 66-69 gtos are the best.
68-70 gto's are the best looking in my opinion
