    My uncle !!! Till today I didn't know this side of him .he is a real hero ....may the Almighty God grant you peace in your life coz it's the most precious gift!!!!

      He was my Boss in Sierra Leone then
      He is a very tough and straight forward man.
      Everybody loved him in Sierra Leone

      Wooow! I am happy for you Mary. He was once invited as the guest of honour in my former High school, MFA back between year '00-'02. I remember our two music teachers had composed a very beautiful song for him. I did not understand then that he was a general of greatness. May Almighty God bless him and his seed. 😀 Blessed are the peacekeepers for they will be called children of God.

    Lt Gen Opande Left me in Sierra Leone in 2003 and went to Liberia
    I never imagined he went to face such risk and tough duties

    I used to admire this General since he was Brigadier. I could follow up his updates and times I would wonder why he was not appointed Chief of General staff.

      GEN Opande...he was my immediate neighbour in Eldoret. I remember seeing a chopper landing every now n then n we knew baba was back.!

    It's ironic how a Kenyan General could conduct a disarmament in the farthest darkest corners of Africa while in his home country Kenya banditry and cattle russling by armed Pokot, Samburu and Turkana is still rampant!
