Have gotten 2 radios from them and let me tell you there the best!! I loved how they showed me the bench on how much my radio was pushing.. highly recommend all the way from South Texas c’mon
One of my first jobs as a young kid in the 70's was working in a CB shop. This was during the boom days when nearly every car had a mobile in it. I wired countless microphones, made countless patch cables and installed dozens and dozens of mobile set ups. Fun times.
Same here. 72’ thru 79’ Camera House Electronics in Lyndhurst, N.J. Sold and installed Courier, Johnson, S.B.E., Pace, Antenna Specialists, Sheakspere, Hustler, just to name a few. The list goes on and on !
I went out of my way to give CC a shot, to correct issues created by another shop, on a new N6 I bought from them. CC corrected, cleared, tuned my radio right there, allowing me in the back room to watch! They also had items I needed for my antenna system no one else has, and I would have had to special order! It saved me time! The radio sounds clearer, and louder, without splatter, distortion, or bleed over now! Very happy!
Dang man, never pined you for a radio guy. Been subbed to you for a while, miss your videos. Im a rig welder myself in east texas. Got a Galaxy 98vhp in my rig. 73's brother.
I can talk the world over with less than .25 watt.. It's about antenna antenna and a good receiver.. Good lil shop.. I would have to take out a loan to buy out the place..
Wow! I haven't been to The Barnyard since a few months before this Covid silliness started. I'll have to go by and check them out, again. Good luck to the new owners and to Mr Freeman in his retirement! They used to have the coolest antenna setup there. A 102" whip on top of that metal roof. Talk about a ground plane that won't quit!!!!
Fantastic! I wish we had radio shops like that in Seattle, like we did in the past. When I was a kid in the 1970s I used to ride my bike up to "ABC Communications" a few miles away and drool over the CBs and radiophones. It was an amazing time.
Wish we still had good old cb radio shops in the uk but sadly most of them closed down back in the 90’s when the demand for cb radio dropped off and everyone bought a mobile phone.. Its a shame really as i used to spend most of my spare time at our local cb shop back in the 80’s and also spent most of my cash there too but never begrudged it one bit infact i could never buy enough cb equipment back then and im still the same now altho i have to go online instead which takes away the personal touch of buying from a store which for me was more a social event than going to buy anything because i knew the owner well and he was also on the cb too and live not too far away from us.. Great memories i shall never forget and altho the cb is dead where i live now i still switch on and have a blast around the channels to see if anyone is on for a copy..
i want to drive there, but given its 4,005.75 miles away, might take me a while. We used to have 2-3 shops like this in my birth town in the 70's and 80s, really helpful people who knew their craft. I was just a young kid but it was great to see the CB community, well you guys sure are lucky to have such a fantastic shop with real down to earth people. Best of luck to Cuz Customs.
Thanks for the preview of the new store! I hope they still sell whips at the same great price Mr Freeman had them at.Glad they're keeping it open instead of Mr Freeman retiring and it closing.
it is neat to see a C B shop still in business. I would say we don't have one in a thousand miles of here. we had one fifty miles away, but it went out of business. wish we had a place to get hame and C B repaired I a one forty eight gtl that is on the blink because the army stick went bad got water in the base. I also have a Drake receiver that i would not mind having it look at. just keep up the good work and keep that shop open
Hi mower junkie!! My name is dakotah hall from Minho county wv I’m currently 15 your the reason why I love cb radios I only have 1 radio at the moment but I really love ur vids keep up the good work 👍👍😄
Great video, I would love to have a shop like that near me. The closest one is over an hour away, at the same time it may be better off because I would go broke buying all the goodies. Thanks for the video MJ '73s
Wish we had a shop like that in southern california. I am a licensed amateur radio operator as well but have always wanted to try a foot warmer that puts out a nice clean signal on the 40 am channels.
About 8 yrs ago I sent Sparkys CB shop 2 amps. one was a 667 after a year of being told we will get back to you, the guy you need to talk to is not in, and the brown finger run around. I Never saw my amps again. IF and when I decide to get back into the CB craze I want to find someone I can trust to work on my crap.
Like Durham Radio out Durham County in East of Toronto Ontario Canada was business from 1992 till closed up August 20 of 2018 had CB , Ham, Scanners , Commerical radio's and anything need too! Plus fix up on site or did repairs for call when pick up or money transfer to courier to home for you! Only store left like in Ontario Canada's called Radio World in Scarborough Ontario Canada do same thing as that Durham did and another near me but not sure how work in Peterbrough Ontario but hear do repairs but most CB / Scanner stuff but going check them out soon!
I live in Maryland and taking a trip to Gainesville Florida springs next week. If it's not too far off of 95 I might pull over my RV and pick up something.
We have NO CB shops here at all now and no Tech. Only one is me and I lost most of my equipment and I can't afford to replace it. Anyway, there is (or used to be) a car accessories place 70 miles from here used to sell CB antennas and bit and pieces, but i am told he no longer does it. CB died in the 80s but in some areas it has come back due to Covid 19 with people being stuck indoors. When I met my wife the first thing she did was ban me from the CB, she wanted to keep me! I was sort of to busy working anyway and the antenna was just up as a lightning conductor. But now I am trying to get an antenna up, but so far they said no! I will keep pestering them though and they might get fed up, the only way I can used CB is either go out in the car (far to cold here at the moment) or put an antenna up at ground level and take it down when I an finished. But it is to cold to be in a shed here at the moment anyway. It needs a clear out of junk so I can use it as a shack. I am working on it, but it is slow work at this time of year! Have a good 2021
I was interested in perhaps doing business online with these guys but there is only amplifiers for guys who have alot of money. There is nothing else listed to choose from
awesome video !! but, Cuz.. what language was he speaking?? is that like from Louisiana?? his accent.. that a southern one? awesome videos!! and his store is on my list when we go this spring.. taking momma to Texas.. road trip visiting all the places.. she aint never been that ways.. as usually Mower junkie!! your videos and the people in them are awesome!! P.S 8 inch snow storm right now.. a bit busy .. come join us !
Wow another amazing video my friend wonder if he would ship in to Canada 🇨🇦 great price 73’s god bless my friend from wws1185 western Newfoundland Canada 🇨🇦
You would have died laughing watching my friend, age 74, and me, age 64, hoisting my 54 foot tall CB antenna last year. My friend was hanging by his feet from the original tower using a hand-cranked boat winch and I was walking the tower up, hand by hand. By a miracle, we got it up and I yelled at my friend, as the new tower was swaying back & forth in the wind, "clamp that thing down!"
Hi mower junkie Joe here from Rutland Vermont I have been watching your videos I have Uniden Washington SSB it’s been up in my garage attic for probably 15 years it used to work great no I hooked it up and I’m just barely receiving anything but if I hook up my cobra I hear her everything normal is this radio worth repairing and who would you recommend? I don’t have any place around here in Vermont that I know of. Also, my Base Anttena is 30+ years old. I’ve been thinking about the Maco 5/8 wave where is the best and cheapest place to buy one? Sorry for such a long message, but I am trying to get back into the CB world. Appreciate any help thank you so much Joe
Looks like a competition key down set up in his Suburban. Too much RF to be near. I’ve seen videos where the RF causes distortion to the camera recording the key down event. I’m curious as to how many of these guys that compete in key downs end up with cancer, tumors on their forehead, become sterile, etc.
Sorry about that, I realized when I was making the video that I forgot to show His antenna. He uses a 2 element vertical beam on the roof. Thanks for watching, 73's from 151 SC.
Hi mower junkue from the UK, from your trip do you know if they would sell a 9.8mhz crystal filter for an old royce 642 base station as mine has just died in my radio, even a secondhand one would do if they have parts radios. Great channel and so wish this guys shop was possible to visit!
Maybe he could work on my base station that was given to me. It works but I think it may need a little something. Never had a base before. It’s a Galaxy Melaka
Most interference is generated vertical in dx world transmissions leave horizontal twist by nature in ionosphere land at vertical on other end local has disadvantage of shorter range works best if other local horizontal as well my choice would be v shape or diagonal mount best of both worlds
I don't think they do any repairs on a tube amp. I don't have a phone number for them, But Elkin amps in North Carolina is still doing repairs on tube amps.
Have gotten 2 radios from them and let me tell you there the best!! I loved how they showed me the bench on how much my radio was pushing.. highly recommend all the way from South Texas c’mon

Ive always wanted to be heard on am without having to drive up to the top of a big hill.
I Really need to go there , I live in western NC where is he in SC ?
Looks like a competition key down set up in his Suburban. Too much RF to be near. I’ve seen videos where the RF causes distortion to the camera recording the key down event. I’m curious as to how many of these guys that compete in key downs end up with cancer, tumors on their forehead, become sterile, etc.

Not yet, they will have one soon though.
what do you think of a galxy 77 or a dx 45
Sorry, I'm not familiar with Galaxy radios. Thanks for watching, Take care.
Could you tell me the advantage of horizontal vs vertical
Most interference is generated vertical in dx world transmissions leave horizontal twist by nature in ionosphere land at vertical on other end local has disadvantage of shorter range works best if other local horizontal as well my choice would be v shape or diagonal mount best of both worlds
Most verticals concentrate the signal on ground level. While a horizontal antenna has an upward and directional pattern that is better for skip.
