    Yet again, missing some key points!
    Main purpose of oversized pulley wheels is to reduce the small angles you put the chain through. The smaller the angle you put the chain throughout the more friction and more watts lost. Same theory as running bigger chainrings and bigger cogs at the back.

    Solid comparison bro! As someone obsessed with having the latest tech on my bike, I can tell you that honestly, it’s a minimal performance improvement meant for when you have already maxed out your training & every other aspect of the bike itself so that those 1-3 watts are the difference maker. Few riders (me included) are there. I can say that switching the bottom bracket & OSPW to CS, my pedals have almost no resistance & spin pretty freely, to the point they almost pedal themselves & this definitely provides a mental placebo effect while training- to whatever degree. Keep up the solid work bro. Great stuff.

    Slf is garbage. 2 years ago I ordered one for the Shimano 9070. When I installed, it did not seal the sprint that give the tension to the Derraliur. I went to my bike shop thinking I was doing something wrong anf nope, it was like that, I would not seat flush and seal the sprint. I contacted the SLF on FB messanger and send photos showing the issue and explaining that either the pulley was designed wrong or I got a bad one. I requested my money back. The owner himself replied back to me insulting me for saying his product was bad, even refused to refund my money. I opened a claim with paypal and less than an hour after opening yhe claim, he sent me a message saying “ you opened a claim? Nice I will now hold your money till the claim is over”. I took photos of that and send it to PayPal. I got my money less than 2 hours after that. If you check his website he no longer offers the shimano 9000/9070 version, I wonder why.... I then ordered the ceramic speed and it sealed the sprint completely! The way it should be! My advice, dont buy SLF! Get Ceramicspeed or something else. For the record, I have the whole conversation still saved in FB messenger!

    With the OSPW is there alot chain slap sound and gear shift in the RD has a noticeable lag when changing gears?

    • @yonglingng5640
      @yonglingng5640 3 года назад +1

      Especially if you try to use it with a larger cassette (like 11-32) and a long-caged rear derailleur, there will be shift delays between the 2nd-highest and the highest (as in, hardest to pedal in) gear because the B-tension gap is much larger now. With smaller cassettes and a short-caged rear derailleur, this is less likely to happen.

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  3 года назад

      there is not a lot of chain slap but it depends where you ride, our roads here are very very smooth so I might nto be the best to answer this..... also not really any gear changing lag as long as you put on the right chain length and its fitted right

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  3 года назад +1

    ceramic bearings have zero advantage compared to steel, besides weight (single digit grams). Apart from that, the huge rear derailleur cage adds 1-2 Watts of drag.

      Thanks for the info! I am sure its not going to determine whether you beat the guy next to in the sprint but sometimes peoiple just want to upgrade and spend money that they are okay with spending.... to each there own

    For me Ceramic Speed always looked like a laughable, cheap, plastic crap. I am aware they are actually very expensive, but they do not look convincing at all.
    Some Chinese derailleur cages on Ali and other pages actually look heaps better and I would not be surprised, if they were preformed way better too.
    On the other hand, SLF does look awesome and is clearly a way higher quality.

      @@GCPerformance18 What upgrade though?
      I assume that with the amount of frictional difference we are talking about here, there is essentially no mechanical advantage that a human could detect or notice.

    complete and utter waste of money ceramic bearings have no application in the cycle industry. if you want real engineering input go watch real qualified engineers like hambini

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  3 года назад +2

      ummmmmm I mean like isnt hambinis forte like trashing everything the industry makes..... so like cant it be expected in every video that hes going to find a bike thats mass produced with a problem and couldn't there be the exact same scenario where he finds the exact smae bike with perfect engenering just because the was produced better at the time..... you understand what I am saying he is going after massive companies and there are bound to be flaws in some products thats why there are support and warranty teams for everything you buy that is mass produc ed... there will always be someone who buys something who gets screwed and then you will hear form someone else saying that theres is perfect and they are in love with the product..... you get where I am coming from? I mean I love hambani and I think he is way smarter then me and obviously he knows his stuff...... I am jsut showing people products that are out there that they can buy and upgrade there bikes.... its like exhaust for a car, it doesnt really give you a noticeable performance but you enjoy it for the sound or the look of the new tips on the back.... but still there is no need for it, some people jsut have the itch to spend money because it makes them happ or they enjoy what they are doing... idk food for thought
