WOW! That’s fantastic! I LOVE it! I’m working on a diy light shade for our bedroom. I can’t wait to show you over on IG! I hope you’re keeping well, Honey? Love to you as always.xxx
Wow amazing pendant lamp, thanks for sharing ,i just over-viewed your channel contents i really amazed on its contents ,keep vlogging and sharing good luck and stay safe.
I love this!! I’m going to try to make this, this weekend! It’s so cute and has perfect Bali boho feels. I think I’m going to also maybe just add more to hang down from the bottom ring so it has a fully “head of hair” and see how that looks, but tbh I think what you did looks perfect. I’m going to get a kit that just screws into the light socket as I’m in a rental and would need to hire an electrician to do wiring work for insurance purposes which would cost a fortune. Do you know by any chance how to shorten a pendant lamp cord so that I can have it at a much shorter hanging length as ikea length is 1.8m long.
Thank you! So glad you liked it. I think it would look great with more “hair” 😂 As for the solution for the pendant.. I’m actually renting too (but I totally understand if you can’t do it yourself for insurance purposes). So you plan to use a pendant light that plugs into a wall outlet? And then hang it with a hook in your ceiling? Unfortunately I don’t know any way of doing this other than cutting into the wire, take out a length, and reattaching it (which you’d still want an electrician for likely) the cord I had from ikea was that long by as well...most of the cable is tucked up inside the black plastic piece attached to the ceiling. Sorry I can’t be more help for that dilemma, but please share with me what you create!
@@toDIYfor Hey!! So I finished mine, thought I may want to add more raffia to make it more full, I’m not sure. I used a pendant light kit which allows the cord to fit into the spot for the light bulb at your ceiling, and then hangs down from there, so you don’t have to wire anything nor does it use the wall outlet. It’s a really cool idea! One thing is the length is a bit long so I had to zip tie it up a bit so it was doable. The MOST annoying thing is that for some reason it doesn’t hang down straight, it has like a curve in the cord or something, probably because of how it was packaged..// but that makes my whole pendant light look suuuuuper tilted, and it’s killing my spirit haha. Did yours do this? I’ve been searching online for some tips because looking at it like that is going to drive me crazy 😂🤣
@@LindaRosem Oh sounds like a cool option to hang a pendant light! Oh nooo that sucks about it not being level. I didn't have that problem..so sorry I don't have any solutions for you--but hopefully if its just a little kink maybe it will straighten out soon! I hope you enjoy it! I'd love to see it if you wanted to share on Instagram @janelsteeper :)
Not really, I think that would have been a lot more work and I don’t think it was necessary. Because I went back and did several layers..so some will look a little woven.

Nice job - but it really would’ve been nice to also see it with the light turned on at night. I bet it makes lovely patterns on the ceiling.

How much raffia did you buy for this project? Thanks
Ahhh I was waiting to see it lit up D:
Sorrry! I forgot to do that!
Did you think of weaving the strands also instead of just laying them on top of each other?
Not really, I think that would have been a lot more work and I don’t think it was necessary. Because I went back and did several layers..so some will look a little woven.
How much raffia did you use
I wish you had a link for your rafia. The kind I have is just grass

hi where can we buy the rafia ?
I got mine off Amazon! A craft store should have it as well (like Michaels)
