Firstly, thanks for having the balls to actually post something on here to try and help people. I would like to mention that I have the Core SWX Edge Link and I’m getting over 10 hours of battery with just the camera and about 5-6 hours with a monitor attached. This might be a safer option. Just my $0.02.

The button has absolutely nothing to do with it being an aftermarket battery! It is to differentiate in an aftermarket friendly way that the battery it designed for a higher potential power draw. Doing this risks your camera and damages your existing batteries (high risk someone will puncture a cell or get water in at some point following your instructions resulting in a fire).

Get your GH6 press button and insert original battery. You will see. More than welcome to get original battery for £65

    This is stupid an unprofessional.
Panasonic created a new battery to provide cameras with more power for the demanding new video modes. They also gave you a way to continue to use old batteries for the less demanding modes. Drilling away a part of the housing allows to mislead the camera so it allows to use the battery for modes they aren't designed for. You can do that but:
On mistake can damage the battery and this can result in a fire inside the camera.
The camera might stop working in the middle of recording
The camera can be powered with new batteries, thru USB or with a dummy battery in a way that is recommended and allows long recordings without risk to lose important takes.
This all to keep using cheap batteries for things they are not designed for in a camera system that starts at $2000 for the body and ends a few thousand dollar higher with lenses and attachments.
Just imagine a camera explodes and burns down in the middle of a wedding because you have drilled holes into a cheap aftermarket battery.

      @@IreneYoungFoto Get a PD-rated USB power bank with 9V 3A.
On the GH5, I made recordings up to 2h 15min on one battery (4k10bit 150mbps). I had to stop recording and change the battery in a few situations. I used a B-cam to do this without any problems.
On the GH6 the recording time will be shorter depending on what you do. There are many recording modes that are much more demanding. The CFExpress cards get very hot = high power consumption. The processor has to work with more data. If you use the XLR-device you need additional power. To get 2h recording time, they could have used the S1H battery but this would make the camera larger and more expensive. So for the long shots, you need a dummy battery or power bank (if you use an SSD for the storage).

Drilling into a battery is enough said tbh.
      Never do that.
The rest of your comment is quite explicit as of why NOBODY should follow the steps given into that video.

No, please do not play with batteries like that.
With the one from Panasonic or any other battery.
Very bad practice which can lead to terrible accidents.
