It's not that big a change, people are just blowing smoke. It just aligns the effects to properly work for the bobas and future abilities. The part of boba thats broken is still is and always has been a 4/7 turn 5
Most of the people I know were already playing it this way anyway.
Most people have the naunce and critical thinking skills of a five year old, that's why you get those overblown reactions. "omg, boba buff, i'm done with this game". FFS, grow up.
I buy boxes so we can open the packs as a family. I have two boys (Ages 7 and 8) who love opening the packs and seeing what rares/legendaries they can get.
That sounds so fun!
@@VeiledShotSWU Definitely a good time. We try to open only a few packs per night each so we can stretch out the fun. My wife has no desire to play the game at all but loves opening them as well. Heck, she actually pulled a Hyperspace Darth Vader herself in one pack.

Think of "entering play" like walking into the basketball court, but "playing" is actually grabbing the ball and shooting at the basket. Best way to not get confused
Boba leader change doesnt change that much like probably effects 5%< games. Boba unit change is way more relevant but tbh it was kinda crazy that this 3 drop unit deletes most leaders on their flip turn. Like kills 7 hp units with a shoot 1st and hits 9 with suprise strike

At least all your viewers will have joy in the next 24 hours to open up set 2. Here in Singapore (where I currently live), we have been blocked by Asmodee. There is no set 2 being allowed to be released in this region!!.... So sad as the growing SWU community here was excited for the new set. I'll continue to follow here and see what is happening with the meta. Hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on some cards from set 2 at some point ...

I don't think FFG considered the resale market when they mapped out their production plan. I can't tell you how many SWU players I've met that bought 50+ booster boxes day one not just to get cards to play with but also as an "investment" for the future.

So with that change e.g. Tarkin doesn't count for royal guard as an official until he's deployed ?
It never did. Palpatine also didn't count as an official. Leader only count as unit if they are in play (deployed)
Royal Guard only worked that way with Palpatine anyway, and it still does (same with Firespray).
This change honestly doesn't do much besides with the original Boba Leader and the Boba Unit.
Royal guard gets sentinel if an official unit (not leader) is in play. That clause never works until the leader is deployed.
Royal Guard becomes a 3/5 when you have a Palpatine in play or Palpatine is your leader. Nothing changed with this card but Tarkin being your leader not unit also has nothing to do with this card.
I believe that the main reason why this leader enter play / leave play situation has been addressed is not to buff boba (and its a very small buff considering that making another unit leave play is not that hard) but to make sure there is no exploit with the Mandalorian or capture mechanic in general. Since some cards can make leader capture units, and capture units can be rescued when the capturer leaves play, leaders capturing units would have come back as leader's with the capture unit since they didn't leave play. That almost means permanent removal from the game aside from 3 cards that specially rescues unit
It would be absurdly easy to fix capture without changing how leaders work at all
Although it's not as important as Boba, one thing worth mentioning is that now deploying Sabine will trigger Fighters for Freedom. The same thing goes for Yularen with any green leader.

So this is something that causes more confusion as deploying your leaders are not playing the card but entering play so it will not trigger FFF.
No they won't. They trigger when you PLAY a card, not when a card of that color enters play, and you DEPLOY leaders, and they enter play, you don't PLAY leaders.

@@francisfoucault-bouchard129 it's no mystery. Think of it like that. Playing is a specific action. Entering play is just something that can happen for many reasons, one of which, and the most common one, from you playing the card from your hand. But let's say there's an event, that says "search your deck for a 3 cost ground unit and put it into play". The chosen unit will have entered play, but you didn't play the unit. It's actually very simple. Same thing with leaders, you DEPLOY them, and they enter play, but you didn't play them. Your confusion is comming from your own misconception of bundling together 2 different things as one: playing, and entering play.

So does this mean if regional governor gets played and names a leader, that leader can't enter play now?
entering play and playing are different things, so regional governor should not be able to stop a leader from entering play.
No, since you are not playing it, it is simply entering play.

NEEDED RULE CHANGE
I work at an LGS in a small country, they said the product is out of stock over a month before set release.
Now we are not allowed to order swu until having some sort of papers signed.
Im pissed and upset.
I'll wait a few weeks to a month before I invest any more into the game. Flat out if you can not buy product two weeks after launch then fuck this game. Everyone makes good excuse for FFG.
Because THAT is what we needed - we need the most broken, overpowered leader in the game to be even MORE broken. FFG balancing this game just like everything else they make, no surprise here. Makes it hard to take competitive play seriously, that's for sure!
bro shut up, it doesn’t make him any better, it affects him once in the entire game, and only if nothing else left play that turn is so minuscule, and of anything it hurts him, cause unit boba gets worse than leader boba gets better.
also boba isn’t broken to begin with, people just pushed him so hard that people played mostly him, but once people actually started playing and testing other things he fell quite a bit. is he good, yes, he’s one of the best but he’s not far and away better. stop yapping
The akward thing about rules is there two boba fett can be on battlefield at the same time, the unit and the hero, it makes no sense
