On the strength of your review iIpurchased this Element S , playing via I2S into Topping dx9 pro and it has astounded me with the clean quality of the sound. I still do not understand how it plays flac files from an external ssd plugged into thr usb input ..but it does.
Nice video! TQ Streamer transports can have their own sound. Try comparing the Element S vs say a Bluesound Node X. Compared the Element S via I2S vs Lumin U1 Mini via USB into a common DAC. Sounds the same. The Element S is a good transport.
i don't know about not hearing any sound differences except between the input/outputs used, I can clearly hear differences between streamers using the same dac (audiobyte hydra). Every one i've tried sounded different .
I do like your reviews . I am new to this and I am wondering if using the Matrix Elemnt s , can i play dsd512 ? if so how? soryy if this is a silly question.
so what`s the point of adding a streamer with just digital output to a dac if you can do the same with a basic laptop with usb output capable of running any streaming service since most streaming services are able to be controlled by app too?
Windows changes the bitrate of the songs no matter what the streaming app does, while a dedicated streamer outputs bit perfect audio with no tweaks or manipulations. Dedicated streamers are also always on and ready to go, have more I/O, etc. Granted, Matrix Audio sells really expensive equipment that is rather niche. If you want something like that at a more reasonable price, the WiiM series of music streamers are way cheaper and have most of the features that a normal person might need

Can you record a tutorial on playing local music in flash drive or storage device through the Matrix Elent s please.
Do you know how to reset Element X? Thanks

Also element s has the same streaming componemts of element x2
It has a remote controller as well.
Network Transport??!!
Cool device but like all other streamers, no HQ Player support. Sticking with the Mac Mini.
