Almost certain horsepower serves very little purpose under those conditions and rpm's. What does the trick is what is most likely 2500-3000 Nm of torque.. Nice video, if it's one thing Norway knows and needs ,,, it's how to move snow =) I was in Norway a few years back. I(we) took a wrong turn and ended up driving on very snowy roads. I didn't drive overly slow, but was was overtaken by three different snowplows.
Car Mo that is all powered by a Diesel engine which if you didn’t know takes the hp and nearly doubles it in torque. Now if I had to guess it probably has a the engine powering a very strong high speed hydraulic motor to get rpms high enough.
OK, now for a mildly stupid question....What happens if it encounters a "buried car" as sometimes happens during blizzard conditions??? The shear pins for that thing gotta be massive!! bigeasy
Probably a loud bang, metal flying and a lot of cursing. I was surprised how narrow the steel tracks are on this machine. Thought they'd be wider for better flotation.
Adam King they have narrow tracks to bite into packed ice better when working in snow the more psi to the ground the better thats why snow tires are narrow on cars
Funny...I see its on the job in the middle of a storm clearing snow and wondered how far it could go before it needed fuel...So do they have special rigs to use to fuel these machines on site ?...That was the question as I never saw anything on these videos showing that issue...Thanks Kevin...
Builder99 Glad you saw my sarcasm and the joke. But I bet they had a large capacity tank. I know when I ran front end wheel loaders plowing snow I could get about 6-7 hours before I got to a quarter tank left. But I bet these machines are a tad less fuel efficient
BEAUTIFUL ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Would love to see that in real life!
That's funny, my boat has twin 420hp cats. Sometimes when the turbos are singing like this for hours it's almost impossible to not get hypnotic.

Love the sound,Caterpillar.
Boy! That poor guy has a long driveway!
Old George Mesta would be proud that for sure as long as the damn unions were kept out...

Car Mo How heavy would the flywheel be?
It's all horsepower. When time or speed is involved, it's horsepower
it is true for a race car but... you got that wrong it is all about torque for a Snowblower

Very interesting to see.
Thanks for the answer. Just like airline pilots-"trust the instruments!"
Looks like a good way to trigger an avalanche.
...iz mesta je najebo.
Are they using GPS to know where they are going?

Adam King they can only be as wide as the swath that the n=machine can cut.
+Adam King you do not want floatation you want it to dig in and grip .
I will assume that it's equipped with some kind of GPS system to keep it on the road.
gps with ground station.
How in the world do they keep it on the road? GPS? Radio wire in the road?
GPS.
Geassi maybe they been there before??
Charles T. Doble
When you start sliding towards the creek....ya done gone too far, lol.
@@Geassi couldn't there be cars under there?
@@SAMEntalhealth Not any more!.HAHA!!.
And that's just one guys driveway!.....
Could have used this machine on PEI last winter.
5 по кругу отлично
Where is this snow-clearing taking place? Norway?
yes
Geiranger,Norway.
@@Geassi how tall is the top of the metal intake box?
When I first looked at this video, I thought this video was the high drift area of Trail Ridge Road; Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
Warst Du in Skandinavien , klasse Video
I want that job.
Good point Charles Doble...how do they keep it on the road?
GPS
Ok cool machine but how do they fuel it up ???? It must eat fuel...
+Builder99
It uses snow for fuel.
Ha Ha that would be cool if only true
+Builder99 by inserting a delivery device known as a nozzle that pumps fuel into a tank....magical lol

If they put two AMD CPUs at the bottom it will melt the snow in one quick go
Det her er ein Caterpillar buldoser som er ombygd til snøfres.
Where was this recorded?
Geiranger.
i want one
Thank God I don't live there!
Amen
Now show us the videos where it slides sideways on those tracks.
Watch out for tree or rock or car hidden in snow....no bfeakdowns please...lol
pretty good but not the best !
er dog poo asla poe dokie wook ta
It's time we all stop ignoring the unnecessary mess this machine makes. If we want clean roadways the only way is to melt it.
