Wow. This teaching is so wrong. It sounds so good, but it is wrong. It is shallow. The parable is about how both sons wanted things, and not the Father. This teaching is really about how to become an 'elder brother' but the elder brother was as bad as the younger son, he was just hypocritical about it. If you come to God for you and your needs, you are an 'elder brother'. You will leave Him if He doesn't 'jump when you say'!
God is almighty. He is love, but He is complete in Himself. He doesn't need you. It is your privilege to be called to Him. He is not your 'ride or die'. He loves you enough to send His Son to die, but if you don't accept His offer, He hates sin enough to send you to hell.
