I think this game was way bigger than this umpire should/could handle. He is 2 feet back from the catcher, never gets in a stance and is flinching on almost every ball. I totally get that umpires don't want to umpire any more; because, they hate abuse from fans, coaches and players, etc... most of that is correct, but unfortunately, it is umpires like this that should really never have been put in this spot to begin with. Needs to umpire Junior Varsity or Freshman and get an umpire mentor that can help him get better. Love you content Cobra!! : )
The team in black/gold stripes have a good catcher i understand the frustration when umps are so back and forth with their calls he kept his cool and kept his pitcher cooking
18:03 was closer than it looked because the batter was on the inside line of the batter's box and the pitch was halfway between that line and the plate, so maybe 4 inches inside instead of 8, but still not a strike for anyone not named Greg Maddux.
Thats what It looks like when a pitcher throw hard misses his spot by the length of the plate... LOL!!! Pitch was supposed to be on the outside edge but pitcher completely missed and good reaction by the catcher to get to it. It absolutely is a strike as well because the batters toes are on the line and knees hanging over it and the ball sliding in not hitting his knees will put it right on inside corner. Was absolutely painted if it was called to be there LOL.
Perfect game is notorious for having low quality umpires that get assignments because they put up with the nonsense and can eat games. They eat games by learning the bare minimum they can put in to be passible. There are many better umpires out there.
good game, did see a couple players let the ump ruin their mood but most of them also kept their composure.., it’s one thing to learn in baseball, not every ump is gonna be perfect
There is a shortage of umpires. Shortage of officials in ALL sports. And it's because of people who "think" they know the rules and think verbally abusing and physically abusing officials is just part of the game. So guess what, you get what you get.
Jesus loves you. This is not a bot, this isn’t for likes, I just want want the one reading this to find the peace that he provides knowing he is taking care of everything. He loves you, repent and accept him into your heart if you have not already. Only by his blood can we enter heaven, only by what he accomplished.
Yes that umpire was bad, but those kids on the white team were ridiculous looking back at him on those inside calls. If you’re so far up on the plate that your foots on the batters box, any inside pitch that doesn’t hit you is pretty much a strike.
And were back , Ready for some Baseball, We got the pitcher warming ip on the mound , seems to have lost his glove? Luckily his little sister came in clutch..
After blue ate one off the cup, it became just a downard spiral of bad call after bad call. Its a shame that after such a hell of a pitching performance by both sides that the umpires are the ones that stood out the and will probably be remembered most. Also, hell of a play by SS to keep that 3rd run from coming in on a line drive that made him stop his momentum and dive back to his back hand side.
@21AirDrop there seems to be a shortage of blues everywhere....but, in reality, this was a bad day for the guy behind the plate, and it's made worse that there was video proof. I coach and I don't condone parents yelling at blue, if there's an issue with a call, it is my job, and my job only to ask for an explanation and if need be get pissed if they either don't know the rules, have a terrible interpretation of a rule or if they just blatantly miss a call/have been missing many calls.
I’m an umpire, this plate umpire was not in a good position to see the zone. Should work on mechanics and zone in middle school and JV. Plus his timing is too quick. Gotta wait to make those strike calls. Slow down, see it twice (with his eyes and then process it again in his mind) then make the strike/ball call.
The umpiring in this game is very suspect. Coaches have every right to be irate at this umpiring and I hope that the umpire in charge gets to look at this video!!
Really doesn’t help berating the umpires. There’s less and less people volunteering to be umpires for the small pay that they get. When my kid used to play, Little League and umpires didn’t show up, I would often get asked to go in there and umpire the game so the kids could play. It was LITTLE LEAGUE and I vividly remember parents who would become enraged if they felt that I made a bad call. The coach has a right to be passionate, and get on the umpires case, because the umpire has the ability to throw the coach out if the coach gets out of hand. The parents need to STFU.
That umpire just wanted to get out of there…. Those check swings were questionable and he didn’t even ask for help …. And the strikes he did call in the last inning were questionable but it was the same for both teams!!!
These are some very good young ball players but I will never understand why coaches allow their teams to celebrate every out of every inning like it’s the ship. Act like it’s nothing and you do this everyday all day and it will put fear into most teams. But if you have to act like you’re in a basketball gym. Then baseball will turn into football & basketball. Come on people all we have left is baseball in the south. Don’t let it get like the other two sports.
When high school sports start getting canceled it will be due to the lack of umpires. There are always 100 umpires in the stands and the coaches also become umpires as well! I encourage every single person that complains to go to their local High School Athletic Association and take the test and go but equipment and get out there so the shortage of umpires won't be a problem. I get it, I do... Some officials are better than others. Keep in mind to get better requires experience and more of it! The umpires that seem terrible more than likely new at officiating. I'm sure they love the sport or they wouldn't be doing it. You sure don't get rich officiating sports until maybe college and major league level. If the coaches would be more encouraging and provide constructive criticism in a professional one on one manner would help the officials and the game. I truly believe the consequences for coaches that berate, belittle, and also cuss the officials should be significantly increased. When the organizations start cracking down on the coaches they may see an increase of officials. Where I'm at and the state I live in the High School baseball beginning this year will have one official calling the game at times due to umpire shortages within the local associations. Some games have already been threatened with cancellations because there aren't enough officials to call the games throughout the region. It's coming to this in every state if not already there in many of them!
Really hard to fathom how two quality teams ended up with umpires who shouldn't even be working bad freshmen ball. Mechanics, timing, positioning, rule knowledge, judgment, strike zone accuracy or even consistency....all really bad. The foul ball/out of the box call was the only one they didn't somehow kick.
The homeplate umpire was terrible, I think that goes without saying. He also didn't seem to be paying much attention when everyone else was giving their best efforts on the field. Yeah, it's high school baseball but he looked like a bad Pony League umpire. I'd like to share my perspective as a European baseball fan that's getting more into college/high school channels. It's really cool to see good young players progress their careers to the next stage in real time and I think it's great for the kids to get this sort of exposure. After watching tons of these videos though, I am incredibly embarrassed by the parents and many of the coaches... especially in the south of the United States like here. Even the coach was completely indignant about the foul ball he thought touched the batter outside the box in like the 3rd inning (he was in the box btw). I understand part of it is fighting for your team. But some of the behavior is so disrespectful and cowardly. Why has it been allowed to get to this stage? This is hardly the worst case I've seen, but seeing the title of the vid prompted me to make this comment. It makes me not want to watch high school sports anymore.
Coach should have been kicked out period. Rather the ump is right or wrong. I get it these umps were perfect and made some mistakes. Two factors to consider. There are no perfect umpires. Secondly, it's not like they get paid allot at this level. Lastly, there are a shortage of umps all over the US so if you think you can do better, stop crying and get certified. You will find out it is much harder to do than you think. And YOU will make allot of mistakes. It's easy to sit on the sideline and judge every call. I understand it better on the professional level because those umps get paid very well. There is a shortage of officials in every sport in every state. In my state the average age is around 40-45. There are more people retiring every year than we have young people wanting to be officials. Why? Because of fans like the ones on this post who do nothing but complain about every call they don't like or mistake that officials make. I see it all over the internet. You much rather judge these officials than go out and try it yourself. That coach should have been ejected for his behavior. You don't show up an umpire period. It's shows kids that when something doesn't go your way in life to act like a damn fool and go off on others. I guess people won't be happy until there are few out there that want to be officials and you find more and more games not being played or canceled. Then you would have wished you had officials like these out there all along.
I can already tell this games peace and skill is too advanced for this umpire. One of the best things you can do is watch the plate umpires routine to see how experienced they are. The biggest tell is to watch when they get into the slot that's the crouch position they get into as a pitch comes in. An unexperienced/green umpire always gets in to the slot extremely early a.k.a. what this guys doing. This can work in slow paced games but when you get good quality catchers the big difference is that the catcher isn't going to set up until the pitcher starts his motion and they're gonna slide with the pitch. If you get down too early then the catcher is gonna slide right in front of you and block the pitch which is most likely what happens with a lot of these borderline calls where the umpire probably couldn't even see the pitch because he's down too soon. Just bad mechanics always leads to bad calls and frustrated fans and coaches.
As an umpire myself, sometimes you have catchers move up or back on you before the pitch is in, and it can throw you off rhythm when you have a pitcher that works fast. It's definitely tricky to find the sweet spot or get used to a catcher's routine when you're back behind the plate, especially when you have to remember two different catchers and how both operate. That said, there's a lot more things I can tell from the umpire's perspective that tell he doesn't have much experience aside from how he sets up behind the catcher.
@@Oshujax21 100% catchers all have rhythms with their pitchers exactly why you wait for the pitcher to be fully lifted before getting to the slot to be able to get to that point with the catcher and work as a unit with him. There's some give-and-take there but a catcher should always be able to adjust to an umpire to allow them to make the calls. At times where you're constantly getting pushed out of the slot that's on the catcher not the umpire. At that point you just call balls constantly and then talk to the catcher/ coaches of why you keep calling balls. "It's a give-and-take but if the catcher keeps taken then you ain't gonna give." Fun little quote from one of my vet umpires always likes to say when working with new guys on plate mechanics. There's a ton of things you can look at and see that the pacing of this game is way too advanced for this umpire. Usually I go to tell for the plate is when they get into the slot. I can pick several easy things off this guy in the very first hit where he has his hands on his knee acting like a foul tip ain't gonna break a finger. Taking his mask off with his right hand and signaling a safe sign on the ball that went over centers head. As umpires we can see these things but if fans are looking one of the biggest things you can watch is when the umpire gets into the crouch position (slot) at the point of a pitch. This guy is already half crouch down before the pitchers even set not to mention he's not really getting to the slot either to get those low pitches. Just needs more training.
Y’all come at the umpires but not the coaching? Kids can’t lay a bunt down these days…don’t go the other way so kids just pound the outside 1/3 and then kids act shocked when there called strikes, sure the umpiring is bad but so is some of the teaching these days my goodness
THEY PUT ON ALL THESE BRACES AND BATTING GLOVES AND DO ALL THIS EXTRA SHIT, AND THEN YOU GO UP AND SWING THE BAT LIKE A 6 YEAR OLD GIRL AND WHIFF LIKE CRAZY, IT SEEMS AS IF BASEBALL HAS TURNED INTO A CHEERLEADING GAME AND A FASHION SHOW .
Regardless of if calls were bad, I see a player that should have been ejected for drawing a line on a strike 3 call and two coaches that should have been ejected, one for arguing balls and strikes and one for continuing to argue and yell after a ruling was made. Maybe if coaches and players showed a little more self control and stopped being over emotional, better umpires would still be calling. There’s a reason there’s a nation wide shortage for officials. You act like an ass to the good ones and run them off, you’re left with the bad ones.
Check out Altoona high school in GA. Coach Hansen there has already been inducted into the GA baseball coaches HOF. Always has a solid team that’s ranked in the state even going back to his time at Alexander High School.
As someone that umpired for 10 years up to HS varsity, that's fucking terrible. You have to sell a strike. Hell, even if that WAS a strike somehow, I wouldn't call it. If the catcher can't sell it, I won't call it.

dude the way that ump fell after getting hit was pure comedy. thank you for your sacrifice
It was like a little kid getting hit in the sack.
Not even kidding, that might be the worst umpire I have ever seen.
He started off decent. Then he became horrible for both teams 🤣🤣🤣
The nutshot at 9:02 took away any desire he had to be an umpire
He is consistently bad
Not saying this guy was good, but if he’s anywhere near the worst you’ve ever seen, you’ve been spoiled.
Clear that these are newer umpires. They dont look the part and poor mechanics/timing
9:04 LOL the second base ump took his sweet ass time checkin on buddy...
i didnt think you could get a concussion from getting hit in the balls but the ump proved me wrong😂
I think he did confirm that he had a cup on though😂
Haha seriously tho, he was doing just fine until he got hit in the nuts
He wasn't out of the box...
Agreed. He was not.
Agree, 100% was still in the box. Watched it multiple times and slowed it down.
The most southern accented coach ive heard on here in awhile! Love it!
Good camera work; great game; excellent editing. Nice job.
Helluva play 21:23 SS!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely!! Going to cover the bag for a steal then pivoting back to make a diving catch! SHEESH‼️
and then he got a hit off an error
This channel is str8 ❤........#LOVETHISGAME💪🏾💪🏾
Thanks for this comment🐍🐍🐍
That whole at bat around 18:08 with that strike call just after the kid stole 3rd I don’t know how the coach didn’t lose his mind on that umpire.
The team in black/gold stripes have a good catcher i understand the frustration when umps are so back and forth with their calls he kept his cool and kept his pitcher cooking
The coach is correct it’s an immediate dead ball even if the batter is hit by a pitch that he swung at. Should have sent the runner back to first base
18:03 was closer than it looked because the batter was on the inside line of the batter's box and the pitch was halfway between that line and the plate, so maybe 4 inches inside instead of 8, but still not a strike for anyone not named Greg Maddux.

Did you catch the velo of Hernando's starter? Dude looked like he was chucking.
Loved the Coach's pre-game speech..

GO WARRIORS‼️
As an outfielder, when the ⚾️ is hit, your first step is BACK, not running in
I enjoyed this one
BLOCK O LA MILLA!!!! LETS GO!!! 3 game week for us...hope rain holds off!
that strike call at 7:36 is absurd lmao
He called that same pitch a strike entire game.
doesnt mean its a good call lol@@RossKnows
They let anybody umpire nowadays I see 😂 that strike on 11:29 almost made me get thrown out
It just got worse and worse.
It's a HS game....
Go take the test and go get you some gear.. It sounds like you would make a phenomenal umpire... They could use you to umpire without a doubt!
There is a shortage of umpires. Shortage of officials in ALL sports. And it's because of people who "think" they know the rules and think verbally abusing and physically abusing officials is just part of the game. So guess what, you get what you get.
Are you experts volunteering to be an umpire?
W vid bro 🙏 btw did u get the parkview and desoto game?
Thanks for watching🐍🐍and no we only got the Parkview championship game.
Great stuff as usual!!!
LET’S GOOO🐍🐍
Good game. Both sides.

That last inning he literally just wanted to leave he called THE EVERYTHING a strike 😭HORRIBLE id be Pissedddd
black cobra always catching the bad umpired games at hoover
the kids in dugout need to be quiet that shit so annoying
at 24:00 after the pitch a guy in the crowd says badddd aim (Jynxzi clone)🤣🤣🤣

HHS catcher is that deal 4sho💪🏾
Did the ump really say "no it's not" when coach mentioned it should be a "dead ball" ?? LOL
17:48 horrible time call by umpire, batter needs to stick it out in that situation...
Those concord cleats are so tuff🤍🖤
The ump made some bad calls sure but the one on 24:43 is just on another level of blindness
That’s literally at his eyes😭😭
And were back , Ready for some Baseball, We got the pitcher warming ip on the mound , seems to have lost his glove? Luckily his little sister came in clutch..
Thompson pitcher is a DAWG‼️
Agreed‼️
Those black uni’s look like some kid dressing up as a mobster for Halloween

@@donnies1902 I totally agree with all your points.
I’m a firm believer in ball never lies.. kid gets hit. Did not swing, gets first anyways on dropped third strike. Ball never lies
Catchers having a tough time out there blocking those balls
11:27 that call is wild
Wild asf
I think these umpires would’ve been fine working a game with less skilled teams, but the speed of the game exposed them
Heads up!
the dude that let go of the bat bro

Yikes 9:02. That hurt to watch lol
It's a Deadball strike. He swung but the runner has to go back
You know he is calling it might as well seing at everything lol😂
Hernando catcher is legit back there

Nah 18:04 was a crazy call😂😂 Ray Charles could’ve called that!
It was still right but looked awful. That's what it looks like when a pitcher throwing hard misses a spot by the entire length of the plate.
Umpire got rattled after getting hit in the nuts strike zone was all over
Personally feel bad for the field ump for having to Stick up for home plate ump😭
Pin stripe pitcher has easy tell on off speed pitch. Should work on that
What was it?
Ump behind the plate has to be trolling
didnt realize R1 advanced lol.....wow
The ump seemed pretty consistent until he took the nut shot.

Can’t always blame umpires if kids don’t want to swing or attempt to foul it off with 2 strikes. Can’t always expect a walk.
IM SORRY BUT THESE KIDS THESE DAYS ARE WAY TOO MUCH, I MEAN COME ON, YOU ALL ACT LIKE YOUR SO FREAKING AWESOME,
Check out Altoona high school in GA. Coach Hansen there has already been inducted into the GA baseball coaches HOF. Always has a solid team that’s ranked in the state even going back to his time at Alexander High School.
We know all about Coach Hensen and Allatoona😎😎
Played for him when he was at Alexander. 2004-2007.
frame by frame the one is a 100% ball
As someone that umpired for 10 years up to HS varsity, that's fucking terrible.
You have to sell a strike.
Hell, even if that WAS a strike somehow, I wouldn't call it.
If the catcher can't sell it, I won't call it.
