I am glad I found your info just before I was going to use fungicide.on my Dymondia (lawn substitution) in Danville CA where our summer temps were over 100 for several days and I believe I overwatered! Can you suggest how I should proceed with your products?
Hey John, I’m a recent subscriber to your channel and I’m loving the knowledge and expertise you have in everything lawn care. I have recently renovated my yard by removing all of my old grass and I seeded with TTTF and a little KBG. It’s been a little over 3 weeks since I seeded and a little over half of the grass has germinated. I will be putting down some more seed to help fill in bare spot and wanted to know your opinion on Mushroom compost. I’ve heard that Mushroom compost has a good amount of salt in it and it may burn or hinder the germination of the grass seed. Some say mixing it in with some other form of top dressing will help with the salt content. I want to know your opinion! Can I use Mushroom compost on germinating seed or should I go with another compost? Also, what’s your thoughts on compost and manure blend composts? Thanks in advance 😎 Oh, what lime product would you recommend to up my PH level.
Thank you for watching our videos, we appreciate your support. Your concerns about mushroom compost are valid. It's great as a general soil conditioner tilled 4-6" into soil, but I wouldn't use it as a top dress mulch over seed because lawn seedlings are vulnerable when very young (right after germination). Fully composted wood based products are good as a top dress for seed or even fully composted manure blends. The key is if it is fully composted it won't smell like manure and it will work great. I like to use our Blend over seed, not as a top dress, it's more of a fertilizer or amendment, because it causes the seed to germinate quickly and causes more of the seed to germinate at a higher rate of success. Also, I spray over the seed with our Penetrate Liquid Biotiller, which also speeds germination and increases success rate. Let me know whenever you have questions, I'll get back to you quickly. -John
@@JohnandBobs Thank you so much Mr. John for getting back with me. I will definitely be purchasing some Blend and Penetrate from your store and using it as a seed cover. -What Lime product/brand would you recommend using to bring my PH up? Thanks!
Hi Paul, not sure if you are meaning the heathers or our products - so I'll answer for both! J&B's products: www.johnandbobs.com/collections For a heather store online try, www.earthandjungle.com/collection/heather
Yes, most of the time Blend works great without lime. The only time Lime is needed is if the pH is less than 5. If less than 5, our products aren't effective so lime is used to raise the pH a little. -J&B's
❤️ the contrast between the fiery oranges and the fuschia -pink heather😊
The colors are even more beautiful in person! 🌱
Terrific colors! I love the wave effect. Beautiful garden.
It's truly a work of art in garden form. 🌿
Lovely garden. My bees in north Wales UK get good crops of honey from the ling heather on the mountains.
Gorgeous!!! I might need to try my hand with heather in Zone 7B.
Zone 7 is a perfect environment for heathers! Best of luck, they are truly stunning.

@@chadrandolph9874 I don't have a favorite retail limestone. All the ones I've used have been effective!
Where can we purchase these? Is there a reliable online store? We can't find a nursery in NE Ohio. Thanks.

@@JohnandBobs Thanks. My neighbor has 3 fir trees that drop needles but after applying Blend and Penetrate my tan colored soil looks brown now.
