One thing that came to my mind watching this video that made me quite uneasy about holding most of my money in a broker account that is accessible via my smartphone within seconds: what if a robber points a gun to my head and asks me to cash out the money held in my broker account and then transfers it to him (for example by buying crypto on his behalf or some other way that is not trackable)? In the pre-online broker era, they would have had to hold you hostage and deal with police etc. but now they can just literally force you to push a few buttons on your phone to get the money within let's say a single afternoon before anyone notices that you are missing etc. Am I not seeing something? Would brokers reimburse you in such an event? Or are there insurances that offer protection from such forms of robbery? I'd be very interested to know - many thanks!

Review your passwords & exchange them with long, unique ones randomly generated by your password manager 4. Set up 2FA for all important accounts - making sure there are no "weaknesses" like old, inactive recovery email-addresses with a weak password 5. Protonmail + Simplelogin (aliasing) 6. VPN 7. Encrypted cloud storage for sensitive files

I'm also big on VWCE and i will start to buy IUSQ in another broker to diversify fund provider and also the broker and custodian entity. My question is, since i'll buy both in XETRA, do you think that's a risk having all my equities in the same stock exchange?
@@AngeloColomboFi here of course i'm talking in rare events that could possible happen during my life time. So, let's imagine that what's happening with Russia could one day happen with Germany. That's any possibilitie of my equities being frozen or something like it? From what i understand yes the custodian depositary should have my equities anyways right? I'm just looking for guarantees that the stock exchange will never put everything in risk even in such unpredictable events.

Yes! Two reasons: Google as a company can access your passwords (not end-to-end encrypted) and you could lose access to them if your Google account gets deactivated (eg. if you get flagged by AI for violating the terms of service).
Password manager? 😂 Yeah, very secure and like they didn't have any problems in the past. If you are paranoid, why not to give all your password to some app. Good idea! 🤦
A password manager that's fully end-to-end encrypted, open source, passes security audits on a regular basis and can even be self-hosted is a million times safer than whatever alternative you have in mind. But hey, you do you. Feel free to ask other IT security experts about their recommendations though 👌

Thank you! The exchange where you trade doesn't matter, the shares are registered with the custodian/depositary (eg. Clearstream) anyway.

For encrypted storage on cloud, a valid alternative on Mac is to create encrypted sparsebundle files and upload these instead.
True, my only issue would be the need to re-upload the entire encrypted drive every time you make changes to files within it.
