I think the next biggest acquisition will be Apple($2 Trillion dollar company) acquiring Disney($130 Billion dollar company with $64 billion debt).
No one will see it coming, because mostly everyone keeps picking Disney as one of the top 3 companies in the streaming war.
Sony is the smartest company so far. They were smart enough to get out of the streaming industry and stick to what they do best. That is make movies and distribute them amongst theaters, dvds and streaming platforms and networks. They are sticking to what they know best.
Whereas Disney is swimming in unfamiliar waters. Disney is great at making movies and series. They do this stuff great. But because they want what Netflix has, they put themselves in $64 Billion dollars worth of debt. And, the interest is still mounting as we speak.
The promotion of Bob Chapek to CEO of Disney, is a sign that Disney is quietly straightening out their books, in order for a potential buyer to acquire them. I think that potential buyer is Apple.
Hey. I could be very wrong here. But, where there is smoke, there is fire. Bob Chapek(Numbers Cruncher) as CEO, is smoke. Bob Iger(Creative Exec) not renewing to stay on longer, is smoke. Alan Horn(Creative Exec) leaving with Bob Iger(Creative Exec), is smoke.
    This is just my opinion.

Disney get bought out? That would be too ironic. The company that buys out companies gets bought out lol 😂. But no apple isn’t going to buy Disney. I do see apple going after time Warner and Discovery tho.

I think either Comcast or Disney will buy the new WarnerMedia/Discovery. The new company won't have any broadcast assets while Disney does, and Disney doesn't have any cable news networks like the new company does. Disney could fold 20th Century Studios into Warner Bros. as well.

    • @davidwatson7196

@@christiangonzales7429 Disney can't afford to buy WarnerMedia/Discovery. Again. They are currently in a $64 Billion dollar debt, that was brought on by, the acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Disney is only worth $130 Billion.
Also, I am quite sure the US Government will not allow for that merger to happen. That's Fox, WarnerBros and Disney movie studio houses under one roof? No. I am very confident the government will not allow for that to happen.
I'm quite sure there would be something in there that would violate anti-trust laws.
But, let's say that the government allows for Disney to buy Discovery/WarnerMedia. And, the deal goes through with no issues. Well, what we do know, is that WarnerMedia was sold to Discovery for $43 billion. Discovery, before the purchase, was worth $16 Billion dollars.
David zlaslav is a very shrewd businessman. We understand, that for Discovery to sell WarnerMedia, it will have to include the purchasing company to take on the $43 Billion debt outside of the $16 Billion dollars Discovery is worth. In other words, Disney would probably have to buy this new company for at least $59 billion.
If this is the case, then Disney will have added another $59 Billion dollars to the $64 Billion dollar debt it currently has, for a whopping $123 Billion dollars worth of debt for a $130 Billion dollar company.
I don't know about that one. Do you really think the Disney shareholders will agree with that move?
Disney is struggling right now with the current debt. What makes you think that they will flourish with this new acquisition, that will put them even deeper in debt?
There is no guarantee that any of the Disney movies will see $1 billion dollars anymore, because of the pandemic restrictions and people's taste for movies have been reduced to sitting at home and watching a movie. Take for instance, Godzilla vs Kong. That movie has done over $420 Million, at the box office during covid. There was a huge buzz for this movie. And, it only brought that much in. Pre-covid, Godzilla vs Kong would've clearly hit at least double that or a Billion dollars. Easy.
Marvel and Lucasfilms are going to have a hard time making tons of money like they used to in the theaters. Also, Disney amusement parks and cruises are not going to see the same income like the pre-covid days.
Comcast is currently worth around over $207 billion dollars, with a debt of about $107 billion. Anything Comcast does these days, seems to bring the US government down on them. Comcast could acquire Discovery/WarnerMedia. However, it would be too much money, that would put them deeper into debt.
Comcast should've been the one to buy WarnerMedia before Discovery. Perhaps, Comcast was told that there were antitrust issues involved. Who knows? But, I think Comcast is out of the picture, when it comes to WarnerMedia.
Again. Disney is not going to put themselves in a deeper hole. Especially, when Bob "Tight Pockets" Chapek is running Disney. Disney buying WarnerMedia/Discovery, is not going to happen.
However, I believe that Apple($2 Trillion dollar company) will buy Disney. Or, Disney will sell Disney Plus/Hulu and Espn to Apple and have some kind of record breaking deal that get's Disney concentrating on making movies/shows and having all of their content goto Apple.
It's one of those two scenarios.
I don't think Disney can sustain what Netflix is doing. Disney is a movie making house. They eat, drink and sleep making the greatest movies on the planet. This Disney venture of trying to be like Netflix, is like Mike Tyson trying to be a Quarterback for the New England Patriots. Yeah, Mike Tyson is an athlete just like a Quarterback is an athlete. But, the two just doesn't go together. This is what Disney needs to understand. Sony understood that. AT&T recently understood that. It's time for Disney to do the same.
Again. I believe Apple will be the company to swoop in and purchase Disney. Or, make a deal where Disney gets out of the streaming business. The streaming business is looking like it was intended for only tech companies to succeed. Netflix, Amazon and perhaps Apple if that deal does happen.
