How have yours lasted? I got the AlphaRex Nova Black series, but they only lasted 22 months before the drivers side main light went out due to bad internal wiring and connectors. No help from Alpharex on a replacement. I loved them, but I'm not sure it was worth $1054 for 22 months.
Well so far I have two years on mine and all seems to be working fine. However I am not impressed with quality and finish. They are starting to look a bit hazy I might have to buff and coat them somehow. The other thing that really bugs me is condensation, it has happened a couple times when in cold weather, this is very annoying considering I have the cheapest led taillights from ebay and they never get condensation. The last thing is some of the cheesy plugs and wires on the back of the lights, it just seems cheap for the price tag on the headlights

very good instructional video. One quick question. do the low beam lights stay on when he you put them on high beam?

quick question. i purchased same lights with DRL harness. my DRL goes off after a minute or so. was wondering if i did something wrong. everything work except like i said before lights go off.
Hey Ramon some how I missed your message, sorry it took me so long to reply. Did you make sure to tap your DRL harnesses to a ignition source in the fuse box?

How is the brightness compare to oem or what you had on before? I currently have spyder headlights. They look nice but poor visibility. Thinking about switching to these.
Hey Alvin, I would say they are equivalent to stock other than a very clean cutoff line probably very similar to the spyder headlights. This is considering everything is in its stock halogen form.
When I purchased the headlights I also ordered a HID kit since I knew I would be upgrading right away. This made a world of difference, HIDs in the projector housing performs great. If your headlights are in good shape I would consider some 55w hids. My friend has the spyder headlights on his tacoma with 55w HIDs, same setup I have on the Alpharex and I would say the output is about the same. This could be a future video maybe.
@@diyexpeditions3714 Thank you for taking your time and replying. I will take a look into this. Alpharex are not cheap and I like my spyder headlights. If I can change it out to HID’s to get the better output that would be awesome. I will look forward to a comparison video in the future 👍
@@diyexpeditions3714 how easy is bulb replacement should one go bad? I’ve been eyeing these exact ones and I’m terrified about them failing after shelling out 5 bills
great instructional video. Quick question. Have you tried to swaping halogen bulbs with LED bulbs, If yes, which LEDs did you purchase.
Thanks for watching Ramon, I haven’t personally done it myself. Check out the “ Headlight Revolution” channel on RUclips that guy makes awesome comparisons and will most likely answer any questions you may have. I do know there are some awesome LED bulb out there that are as bright as HIDs but they cost almost as much as the headlights. I think morrimoto is one of them. I knew HIDs would perform good and wouldn’t break the bank, this is why I chose it over A LED setup.
thank you. Did you replace both halogen bulbs (high/low beams). Since you already done it going to trust your judgement. Which HID bulbs did you get? are they plug and play or do i need to purchase additional equipment to make them work. I hope plug and play. again, thank you so much for the information.
@@ramonnieves9468 the Alpharex headlights come with factory Leds on the high beam. All you need is the low beam. Here is the link for the ones I got:

Bulb size is H7
Color temperature I got was 5000k
You will need to drill a hole in the back of the headlight cap to fit your your hid bulb seal. I have a hid install video where i show how to do this but I haven’t had the time to edit it yet.

These are pros and they have a LED for the high beam? You sure? Thought it went like this, pro: halogen hi/lo beam, Luxx: double LED Hi/Lo, and Nova Quad Hi/lo LED???
Yes sir, I did upgrade my halogens to hids. If you go to 7:04 you can see the factory led high beam actuated. Truth be told they are not great. But along with the hids its ok.
So when is the light turn amber? When you first turn it on only?
If the harness is not installed the ambers will be on all the time as drls and intermittently as turn signals
ahh I see! I'm just worried about double flashing issues. Ive seen some guys had problems with the double flashing. I have a 2nd Gen 2005 Tacoma and want the Alpharex pro so I have the option of going HID or LED in future. DO you think I will have the double flashing out of the box? does it make a difference were you connect in the fuse box?
Hey Ramon, I believe the Alpharex instructions said to hook it up piggyback with the EFI NO.2 10amp fuse, that comes on with the ignition but I had problems with this method because the drls would randomly come on in the middle of the night, it was weird. So i just tapped to the green ignition wire also in the fuse box. I have my headlights and the fog lights so that they will stay on all the time even when in high beam.
Also don’t forget your main 12v power to the battery.

Hey brother why my DRl are amber and not white
At the time I recorded this video I hadn’t received the DRL harnesses, they are white now.

How does the unlock or lock sequence look on the pro series?
Its pretty sweet each time you press the fob for lock or unlock the amber sequential lights come on follow by the white drl and those stay on solid for about 15-20sec as a curtesy light
I thought only the luxx and nova edition did the light sequence, not the pros
Is this the halogen light or the led light?

Hey Luis, When I made this video I didn’t have the DRL harness yet. I hooked up the light straight to the factory plug and to power, this made the amber lights stay on all the time. I would have left them that way but I read somewhere running them this way for long periods of time could burn your resistors out.

Hey Tomás I finally received the DRL harnesses and I installed it the way Alpharex recommends. So to answer your question I did not keep them amber because I read somewhere it could burn the resistors within the headlights.
What leds did you use for the swap?
I ordered the gtr ultra and they have a 2 prong where as my Tacoma brown plug in has 3 prong is this a problem?
I did a Hid Conversion on the low beam, the Alpharex headlights have factory led on the high beam.
how have these held up??
