I was in Evelyn's band for a couple of years- late 90's. She was and will be always remembered as a beautiful woman and a great singer-- and funny too! Ed Lewis was in the band too-- It was a privilege to play with these people.
I have to say - I was lucky enough to actually sing with her. I will treasure her nickname for me, "Ol' #13" - 'cause I wore a shirt with 13 he 1st time I saw (& sang with) her at the, oh soo illegal, Antique Cafe in the E Village. Loved seeing Sidney on Bass (Yes - Sidney is a woman's name) I couldn't see - but I think that's Harry (pronaounced 'Ary) on the keys... This lady could get things going, and such an inspiration. More than that - she was a joy to all who knew her.

The sadness is that you will not be able to hear and see and touch her anymore. The Joy is that she is soaring with Angels!
I miss Ms Evelyn every day of my life.
Marvelous stuff
