Q: How do you have internet at your cabins? A: I have cell service at both cabins but it is spotty due to foliage and cloud cover. I can access the internet from my cabins but have to drive to a local wifi location to upload videos.
Q: How old is Frankie? A: Frankie will be 10 in April of 2018
Q: What video editing software do I use? A: Presently, all I use is Windows Live Movie maker but I’m considering trying imovie, Adobe Elements or SONY VEGAS PRO.
Q: How do you get your water? Did you dig a well? A: Presently, I haul water to the NY cabin but at the NH cabin, I drop a kettle into an old well that was dug by hand by the settlers in the 1700’s.
Q:What is your favorite brand of cast iron cookware? A: I prefer using vintage cast iron. My favorites are BSR and Griswold. If I had to buy new I would buy a Lodge Brand. I plan to purchase this dutch oven in the future:
Q: What do you use for refrigeration? A: We have a small gas refrigerator that we salvaged from an old Shasta camper and a custom icebox that I built into the cabin wall. We make ice on site with a propane freezer.

Q: What do you use for cooking and heating? A: We use a Kitchen Queen 380 for cooking and heating during the winter months but we also have an antique gas stove in the cabin for when we don't need the heat from the KQ.

Spartan 4890 I also like to live vicariously through him and Frankie. Even though I beat cancer 10 years ago, I now have so much nerve damage I am unable to get out of bed some days. One of the reasons I love this channel so much is because of videos like this!
You guys should check out Kris Harbour here on youtube he is a younger guy making a nice little house by hand. Also check out "living Off Grid McGarvey style" is another good one doing the same kind of things as JC.

I'm in the same boat i have beaten cancer last yr, but it has put me down i can't walk any more i use a chair or a scooter just hard to load them up in our van, my wife helps so much & i don't know what id do without her. so i watch these kinds of vlogs also for same reason can't get out into woods like was been doing for the last 45 yrs. & all but 3 of my friends have passed away in last 8 yrs i have lost 14 of them from falling down on the side walk to a tub slip and few cancers & lots of things. how i got to be lucky 1 I'll never know. lymphedema so bad on my whole side from tummy to toes, knees need to be replaced I'm just a basket case, so i say stay safe ,have fun bcoz life is short

I absolutely agree with your opinion on coyotes. They need to be kept in check, but not hunted to near absent from the area. Love the acreage. Beautiful land with the large hemlocks.

Cool video. My wife has Sioux blood in her. She’s very knowledgeable about certain things in nature. She’s taught me a lot of things. So very cool to know where you come from. OH myy.... Shamanic drums have "helped" me,too..for several years, now. Guess where it began? With Mic Mac natives in Maine...near to Lubec, where I once had a summer house!. They introduced drumming to me....and...Bingo! Things began to become more and more clear..over the Years. Bless whatever people sent you those beautiful drums. Keep drumming. Keep growing. I take the trail though the woods to the river, sit and just play slowly up and down the scale, (on my Native flute) and I can get to a different place. I do this in the evening, and in the darkness, everything is clear. God bless you my brother, I'm Pawnee Tribe.
Playing the flute at night on my frozen pond with the moon in the sky is just plain awesome. Simple pleasures :-)

There are no coincidences....on our path of our life - we are connected with people, animals and things that are there for our learning and our spiritual growth.... I too have a similar drum and a wooden flute made by a Delaware Indian friend... as a gift. Thank you for your time and heartfelt sharing - we are all connected.... you never know what life will bring you.... I was in the woods and a black wolf dog became my friend for awhile.... and then he left with his pack. It is amazing. There is more of that story

I watched this with my 5 month old grandson. You have a great acreage, I would love a piece like this. My 10 acres is nice but the idea of more land is always appealing. Those drums are cool , it doesn't surprise me that you have discovered drumming. I arranged a drumming workshop for all of our staff a few years ago and it was met with lots of skepticism but it has been the most requested workshop every year since. Thank you for continuing to share your journey I look forward to your videos, especially when I can share them with my grandson.
