I feel really bad for all the elderly folks who don’t realize these items are fake. I’ve seen older people on Facebook showing that they’d purchased these scam items, or saying “my grandson would love this!” Etc. they just don’t realize they’re fake.

It's not just the elderly--how many poor girls have there been ordering prom dresses online based on a stolen photos even if they suspect the dress being sold is a knockoff? Except either they get no dress, or they get something that in no way, shape, or form anything close to the dress they thought they were ordering (a lot of it has to do with people not knowing how much work and expense goes into making certain garments---even if it's coming out of China or some other sweatshop source). I'm a Boomer but I did not grow up in one of those towns where everyone knew one another and went to the same (and only) church and left their doors and windows open and/or unlocked. I also worked for years with changing technology, so I have some computer savvy, but things advance faster than ever before. Technologies are put out there before they've worked out all the bugs or before anyone thinks that there may need to be some strict guidelines on what and how AI is used. I still remember way before there was even an Internet, that I was constantly telling my mother to please not order stuff from the ads in the back of the tabloids she read, or from infomercials on late night tv. It was really heartbreaking when she would pay good money for "gold jewelry" and get either painted plastic or tarnished mystery metal that even arrived broken or tangled together. As my health deteriorated, I have had to do more and more online shopping for nearly everything, and even companies you could usually trust to send you the advertised item, won't admit to mistakes that sometimes I suspect aren't mistakes (especially since now customer service is AI, and the amount of hoops you have to jump through to even find and use the customer service number for human help). These kind of videos are invaluable. If you have a trusting loved one, make sure they watch these!

Please do NOT drink out of scam mugs/cups. You have no idea if what it is painted/made with is toxic or not and I wouldn’t trust a scammer to care about customer’s health.

If you want a pretty purple/pink plant look into the tradescantia family, especially the nanouk. They're gorgeous light pink and green trailing plants that would perfectly match your set.

Yes! Came here looking for this because I knew someone would beat me to it. But yes please don’t buy/plant seeds or plants you are not sure of their correct origin. They can be highly invasive and really hurt your environment.

The cat table and gorilla couch just seem to be the rare exceptions of AI ads that actually deliver something that closely resembles what’s actually promised.
Keep in mind that she DID NOT buy it directly from the website that it was advertised for. She reverse image searched it and found it on a more reliable website. NEVER buy anything directly from a website that uses AI ads

Those don't exist. Then he was like they selling seeds. 😂 I immediately started researching to prove to him it was a scam. Lol
I bought black Venus fly traps, I was really good at growing carnivorous plants and thought meh. I know some cool variations exist but you have to go to an actual nursery and they are hard to grow anyway. They did grow but were normal Venus flytraps

fun fact when sellers try to sell ai seeds sometimes they do ship seeds but if they ever do ship seeds there probably "dead" meaning they were heated up so they will never grow this is done so when people buy they seeds and try to plant them most likely months or 30 days have probably already past meaning they cant get there refunds and since the seeds never grows it makes people think it was there fault the seeds never grew when they were actually just dead seeds
I work at a financial institution, just go to your bank to get your funds back. There is 30, 60, and 90 day disputes that you can do. The more time goes on after the 60 day mark, the less of your purchase amount you'll get back. Screenshot your orders and save emails since fraud is our new normal, unfortunately. It will ensure your dispute for your banker to send to back office
If she’s doing this deliberately and continuously for a video, the bank is going to quickly get suspicious of multiple refund requests. It’s not worth taking the chance of getting accounts shut down.

Yeah I would like to see a video of you trying to get your money back for these scams. Not necessarily through your bank first as we know that should work, but via the sellers and see what happens.

The tall "purple" plant is an elephant ear, which can actually come in a really lovely black/dark purple color. The 2nd picture is a retouched hosta. You will not get a hosta that color, ever. And what you appear to have gotten is some sort of brassica seed (broccoli, kale, cabbage, something like that) which was kind of confirmed by the shape of the seed leaves 😅

Hiya! Hosta collector here. Hosta is pronounced “ha-sta”. Additionally, they will never be purple. Always green/blue/yellow leaves but produce purple/pinky flowers.

I want to tell you my very best scam story. This was years ago, and I think the scam was something about calling you on the phone and telling them that you should pay them taxes. This was a very poor level of phone call, and I could hear 200 people talking in the background, none of them in English. These people are obviously speaking Hindi. I strung the man along for a while and messed with him and he had all these great answers and finally I just said to him, you guys are really getting bold. And he said yes we are. Chills down my spine.

When I was in my 20s it was like my life mission to mess with scam callers. Anytime a telemarketer called my house, I would keep them on the phone as long as I possibly could just talking about the most random stuff while also acting as if I would potentially comply with what ever they were asking of me. I figured the longer I kept them on the phone with me, that was less people they could call that might not realize it was a scam call. This was like more than 15 years ago. Eventually after Facebook first became popular I started recording the calls and sharing them because my family and friends always cracked up hearing the calls. I messed with these callers so much but it gave me such joy 😂.

So I had a similar issue with the flower seeds. I ordered what was supposed to be lily bulbs. They came in a tiny pack with a bunch of seeds. We thought we got scammed, so the pack of seeds got pushed aside. My boyfriend found the little pack the following summer, and figured he would just plant them. He literally just opened the pack and sprinkled the seeds on top of the ground. A full year later, I had BEAUTIFUL lily plants that lined my entire driveway. They are gorgeous...and they come back every year. I was SHOOK. So those little seed packs, try planting them outside. They are probably somewhat similar to what you ordered.
Lily's are extremely toxic for a lot of animals. Especially cats and dogs.
I'm glad you had a pleasant experience, but please don't plant mystery seeds outside again. Ecosystems are fragile and invasive species can be absolutely disasterous. Look up "kudzo in America", if you want a horrifying example. I was on holiday in Tennessee a couple years ago and I've seen the genuine devastation.

I'm so glad I was a teenager back when the story happened. When I was a teen my father used to get catalogs for flower seeds and bulbs and things like that. One time one had this ad for what they called a blue girl Rose. It was stunning. Vibrant blue. Otherwise it was basically an English rose. It took a few years for me to realize that was Photoshop. Roses can't be that color. Sad but true. So this is been going on since at least the '90s.
