Well i can break down at least one of these:
"Came with a gang" is 3 fold, and they're VERY good cuts out the gate. The first is that Astolfo is from the Fate series, which is about Holy Grail Wars where several historical figures battle it out in a free for all. Astolfo however is specifically from Fate Apocrypha, which inverts the idea by making it a team deathmatch instead of a battle royale, two sides of 7, that's why they're not just Rider (their class name), but specifically Rider of Black [Faction] as opposed to the other team's Rider of Red (Achilles). Relatedly, the Berserker of Red is Spartacus.
The second meaning is that followup line "Hero of Charlemagne". Astolfo is one of the 12 paladins of Charlemagne, which the much lesser known French equivalent to King Arthur and the Round Table, but like...well, imagine if Arthurian legend was only _slightly_ less ridiculous than the monty python version, and that's what the paladins' myths are like. So both in the context of their story in Fate AND in the context of their original myth, Astolfo came with a gang.
And the third one is, er, _that_ meaning. Ya see the most famous myth of Astolfo's, and the one that their Fate self is directly based on, is their role in ANOTHER paladin's myth in the Orlando Furioso. Astolfo ends up sleeping with like 40 people or something and dragging his depressed friend along for the ride to try and cheer him up. I told you the Paladins were wild.
There's some minor ones like references to Spartacus and their special lance that paralyzes whoever it hits, the Hippogriff they ride and how it can phase between dimensions, but the other deep cut is "Say I'm a monster but I don't drink monster". The more obvious of the double meaning is that an astolfo cosplayer caused a massive uproar a while back by comparing his 'Trap of Argalia' to a monster energy can, a bit deeper than that in the actual series one of Astolfo's main skills is called "Monstrous Strength"

I haven't been in anime for like forever so the only character I can say I actually know out of this whole set was James, but even though I didn't understand most of the references I could still recognize the 🔥fire🔥 in the lyrics and beat and having watched a few reactions to it I appreciate the cypher all the better.

@@ace11th87 oh for sure. a good amount of these cyphers are coming from the smaller artists trying to get their names seen but it feels bad. a lot of the time if you make a cypher to get recognized you’ll just get overshadowed by other cyphers, forgotten after a month, or outshone on your own project by someone else and then you’re stuck with your views but no real fanbase retention. i’d rather they make dope singles albums and eps than crank 90s out of cyphers
