I'm old enough to remember when the Police actually wanted to arrest criminals.
Police can lose their job in minutes after getting someones pronouns wrong or being too heavy handed to a criminal - For a single job, there is about 10 bits of paperwork that need completing.

He is correct though, current Case law in R v Zieglar, states that a protest is expected to cause disruption to the highway, which now acts as a legal defence for arresting for obstruction of the highway during a protest. Its literally correct.

There is no doubt loads of laws they could use to move people on, so many laws are vague just for this very purpose.

The Commissioner is completely correct. The UK allows protest. This isn't Russia where you get arrested for holding a sign. Every case on its merits, no outright bans. Rowley knows what he can and cannot do and what will be challenged later in the courts.

As a retired officer Rowley represents all that is wrong with the police force today. He and his woke ways along with his like minded colleagues need to be marched out of the force, he can apply for a job at McDonalds where a brain/decision making is not needed.
Only yesterday I heard an incident where 2 barrels of beer were stolen from premises at night, but the police said they couldn't do anything, despite having CCTV images, plus a colleague reminded me unless a shoplifting incident was over £200, then the police wouldn't respond. I rest my case for Rowley and the like to go !!
