JustLance 213 word! Vlad stays bringing in other factors. Keanu Belle if you simply like Jay more than Nas because you identify with him as an artist more that's fine. You might like his beats more n all, there's nothing wrong with that. The problem with dudes that have arguments like Vlad, is they try to bring all these foreign topics into the discussion of who's better on the mic such as relevance & fame. More power to em but don't try to play Nas just because he's not as famous as Jay that's silly. And Nas has been putting in work these past few years in partnering and owning different companies so that's a mute point as well truthfully. They're both big in the business world, both legends, but if we even have to compare em, can we stick to just the music and leave all that otha out of it?

Jay-Z is better at fitting the mood/beat than Nas. Jay was always better at knowing when to go hard and when to stay out of the way and let the song breathe. He's a much better artist than Nas. Just so you know Vlad. Jamaican artists do way more than what Nas did when he did two songs on one beat. Vybz Kartel has like 4 songs on one instrumental and they’re all dope.
That's the dumbest argument I've ever heard. It's clear the past tense of Takeover would Took-over and that sounds crap and Takeover is already a well known term whereas Ether was something new that introduced a new word to many people so it was by default set to become a slang word commonly used because of Nas. Also just because Ether is more popular and most people say it's best doesn't mean it was best. Lyrically Takeover was better. Simple as. Also by your logic Ether is better than NY State of Mind and every other Nas song. There's a reason they say Ether'd and now NY State of Mind'd. Hahahahahahha
First Ethered wasn't even a word until that song came out and now it is a verb for getting destroyed ...hence proving my point. Ether was the essence of diss track and in your face. Takeover had better story structure but they better diss record is hands down Ether. It didn't even need a follow up. Your last part makes no sense, cause no one was talking about Ether being better than anything else but Takeover. I said it was better than Takeover...not the best song ever.
Mike M Your argument for one song being better than another was because the title of one is now a common verb whereas the title of another isn't. With that logic Ether is better than every other Nas song which has a title which isn't now known as a synonym for destroy :) See? It shows how your logic is flawed. So your argument goes completely out of the window. And Takeover had the better beat, the more concise lyrics considering Jay-Z had only one verse aimed at Nas on there yet people still compare it to the 3 verses of Ether, it also had more facts and it was responsible for destroying Mobb Deeps career as well. Even without looking at everything aimed at Nas, Takeover is already responsible for ending Mobb Deeps popularity whereas Ether didn't damage Jay's popularity. That already makes Takeover better than Ether. And Ether may have had more emotion and more in your face but half of it was just jokes about AIDS and Jay-Z being gay and how he has big lips and it was just insults. Takeover was facts, Ether was childish insults
If the song sucked the verb wouldn't have happened simple as that. Ether changed a lexicon, Takeover is mostly remembered for waking a sleeping giant. Again folks don't talk about Superugly cause it came after Ether. People still talk about Ether even though it came after Takeover. If Takeover was better nobody would talk about Ether just like we don't about Superugly. Ether did nick Jay's popularity cause at the time he was untouchable, and Ether made folks say 'Wait a minute, maybe Nas is still the best' and nobody was saying that when Jay was dominating the late 90s and early 00s before Ether. Takeover did nothing to Nas other than wake him up and bring him to a new level. So your logic is flawed, cause all Takeover did was make Ether legendary. Again Takeover was nice, but Ether made Nas great again and made a full follow up by Jay irrelevant.
Mike M It goes like this Takeover>Ether>Supa Ugly. Supa Ugly was not a full diss song. It was just supposed to be like a freestyle that you'd hear only on a mixtape or on the radio. Jay has said it wasn't a follow up to Ether. The reason Ether is so popular and why people it dented Jay's popularity is because the day Jay-Z released Supa Ugly, Hot 97's host Angie Martinez had a competition to see who'd won the beef by having listeners vote over whether Ether or Supa Ugly was better. Unsurprisingly Ether won and so she, live on air, crowned Nas winner and said he'd won the beef. Ever since then nearly everyone has said Nas won the beef and in turn Ether is better than Takeover, rather than forming their own opinion everyone has just jumped on that bandwagon. And I never said Ether sucked. I think it's a good diss track and in the top 10 disses of all time. Just not as good as Takeover and on the lyrical side of things it was below average. The reputation of either song is irrelevant. Whether Ether is now slang for being destroyed and whether Takeover is remembered for waking a sleeping giant is irrelevant. I'm talking about both songs judged together as songs and songs alone. And as songs lyrically and beat wise Takeover was better. Nas is a lyrical rapper and in his prime is definitely more lyrical than Jay-Z but it's a clear fact that the Nas spitting on Ether is nothing like the Nas in his prime whereas the Jay-Z spitting on Takeover is Jay in his prime.
The fact that Tupac only had 4 ablums, and Biggie only had 2 albums, and are still being talked about 20 years later tells you Drake isn't in in the same class.
Ok so I'm only 33 seconds in and it seems to me vlad is trying to just piss Ra and REAL hip hop condasours off . It almost seems like vlad doesn't know shit about hip hop .
Poundz978 nah nah.. And miss a great lyricist. But people in the profession called him out for week beats. Vlad was on point. You are just on his jock. Lets keep it real.
Vlad got a point as a Fan.. however, the best body of work of who he considers the GOAT doesn't come close to illmatic. I will leave it at that...I am sure Vlad agrees with that lmao
0:30 ...nice job Vlad, you just took your hip hop head I.D. and threw it down the drain. Never compare that lame, corny nasally voiced ghostwriter using poser to 2Pac ever again.
antonio mosley Two different vibes. If they switched beats and re-wrote they verses, they would both adjust to the situation and u still come out wit 2 hot songs. Nas tends to be slightly more lyrical than Jay. Jay be talkin dat shit tho....nigga delivery is still flawless since '90somethin.
Rakim - Revolutionised the way people rap in general. Nas - High calibre lyrics about any subject whether its some superficial shit or society and world issues. Jay - One of the most distinctive voices, flow and styles. Could never be imitated. Drake - A great hit maker and a good lyricist when he wants to be. The problem is that he never raps on a deeper level which stops him from being in the same conversation. He's never dropped something like "One Love" or "You Must Love Me" that can give you goosebumps.
Yeah I mean when i first heard So Far Gone i thought he was sick. Especially 'Say Whats Real'. If you don't think Drake can spit then you're hating BUT if we're going to put a newer artist in with these legends then Kendrick is more deserving of that spot.
Honestly, everyone who has wrote rap long enough to develop their own taste will end up liking some beats that the majority call awful lol. I know I do, since I'll take a sub-decent boom bap beat from youtube over an overcluttered good sounding trap beat on youtube. But fair point, both have had bad beats
shortbus1127 nas never got killed on a track nobody was checking for jay when he first came out everybody start fucking with jay when hard knock life came mc and lyrical wise nas is better jay got more celebrity status the richer rapper Beyoncé the more swagger songs

He IS a cornball! Doesn't know shit about hip hop, annoying as fuck
Vlad is a cornball
When Nas drops a verse you know he's gonna kill it 95% of the time. Jay hasn't dropped an impressive verse in over 10 years.
This hasn't aged well
@@seankelly4594 This response hasn't aged well with Nas dropping KD2 and Magic
VLAD just wants to hop on Drakes payroll so he'll say anything it takes to do that.
And Takeover better than Ether? They don't say you got 'Takeover'd' they say you got 'Ether'd' for a reason
With that logic Ether is better than every other Nas song which has a title which isn't now known as a synonym for destroy :)
See?
Drake? LOL!!! Vlad doesn't know true hip-hop. Drake is flip-flop.
He's a Vulture
AngelofDeath3000 dude isn't even Jamaican, not even mentioning all the other Caribbean islands.
***** 😂
drake isn't even top 5 right now
Federer 11 damn right he not
Kendrick, J Cole, Joey Badass, Chance and Earl Sweatshirt/Schoolboy Q are all better
The fact that Tupac only had 4 ablums, and Biggie only had 2 albums, and are still being talked about 20 years later tells you Drake isn't in in the same class.
Damn Vlad let the guy being interviewed talk.
If you put Lil Yaachty in that equasion I'll fight you. xD
Why was the Lost Tapes not mentioned fucking once?!
Sooftah exactly! Doo rags, my way, you gotta love it. All classics
Ok so I'm only 33 seconds in and it seems to me vlad is trying to just piss Ra and REAL hip hop condasours off . It almost seems like vlad doesn't know shit about hip hop .
Latex Raptors...? Or Sour Condoms? 🤔
Gabriel Torres You hit the nail on the head!
Vlad:Charlemagnes my boy
Ra: fuck em ...😂😂😂😂
i could listen to Rugged Man talk hip hop history every single day for the rest of my life.
C4oUre
Respect to RA.
Finally someone that let Vlad know what's up! Much love to RA! Good shit fam! #REALHIPHOP4EVA
"desiigner has more classic albums than nas" - DJ Vlad
Nas - The Message..stfu just go listen to one of the most epic tracks ever recorded!!
Love changes, thugs changes, and best friends become strangers Word up
It ain’t hard to tell -Nas
Absolutely fake thugs no love you get the slug cb4 gusto👍👍👍👍
Vlad should stop trying to discredit one of the, if not the greatest MC. Alive.. Over beats..
BTW.. NAS Aways had fire beats
Vlad is trying to argue with an Emcee!!! RA Rugged man is telling him Drake is not in the same class with Rakim!!!!!
0:30 ...nice job Vlad, you just took your hip hop head I.D. and threw it down the drain. Never compare that lame, corny nasally voiced ghostwriter using poser to 2Pac ever again.
First Vlad was anti Ice Cube for a whole year. Now he is anti Nas. Who will he be against in 2017?
Mercury804 anti Eminem now.
RA keeping it solid
Jay z keys verse < nas...nas album done verse
Vlad wilding
Rico Lovee two different songs
Rico Lovee two different songs
Two different songs?
antonio mosley Two different vibes. If they switched beats and re-wrote they verses, they would both adjust to the situation and u still come out wit 2 hot songs. Nas tends to be slightly more lyrical than Jay. Jay be talkin dat shit tho....nigga delivery is still flawless since '90somethin.
Tee Jay Well to me I don't really like jay z and prefer nas,nas is the better rapper in my opinion.
RA knows fucking hip hop. Body bagged Vlad in this debate
RA The Rugged Man!! One of the realest in Hip Hop history.. the industry can't stand his realness!!
Vlad you my Guy, but I'm with RA
right
Rakim - Revolutionised the way people rap in general.
He's never dropped something like "One Love" or "You Must Love Me" that can give you goosebumps.
johnkeem103 yeah he can get deep but only about things that immediately affect him. He's not on that 'worldly' shit that Nas is on.
I would say older Drake from 2006- 2009, but I agree that his studio albums don't hold the same weight.
Yeah I mean when i first heard So Far Gone i thought he was sick. Especially 'Say Whats Real'. If you don't think Drake can spit then you're hating BUT if we're going to put a newer artist in with these legends then Kendrick is more deserving of that spot.
agreed and lets not forget about other dope new artists like Childish Gambino, Freddie Gibbs, etc.
yeah freddie gibbs is the truth
Vlad I like you but sometime you should let people finish their thoughts. And stop blasting on Nas.
This dude is pretty sharp
Eminem is a worse beat picker than nas
I like him, but he had some reaaal stinkers fr
Nas isn't even bad, that's just his own taste which makes his lyrics
Honestly, everyone who has wrote rap long enough to develop their own taste will end up liking some beats that the majority call awful lol. I know I do, since I'll take a sub-decent boom bap beat from youtube over an overcluttered good sounding trap beat on youtube. But fair point, both have had bad beats
This dude RA is legit. Knows his hip hop history and keeps it real. I fux with him.
Vlad REAAALLLLY just throws out Nas name in his videos for views and comments!!
How many times is he going to bring up this topic?
Cole Lamar For as long as people keep clicking
Cole Lamar probably as many times as he’s going to drop Eminem being a guest in the house of hip hop!
Vlad is the same clown that said young thug's first album was a classic .
"He's my homie!?"
"Eff him!"
Jay-Z supported Hillary, Nas supported Bernie, that shows you right there who is better
It's obviously KANYE.
Nas also is anti vax and did a song with Lil Nas gay seX, so they both suck
shortbus1127 nas never got killed on a track nobody was checking for jay when he first came out everybody start fucking with jay when hard knock life came mc and lyrical wise nas is better jay got more celebrity status the richer rapper Beyoncé the more swagger songs
@@mitchelljordan3521 Nobody fucked with Nas when he put out Illmatic and its still one of the best albums ever.
@@mitchelljordan3521 I think Jay has put out better music overall than Nas, but IF youre thing is mainly Rapping then i can see why you like Nas more. Personally i love both.
Lord Jamar and Ra give the best vlad interviews.
More Ra the Rugged man please.
Eminem is the worst beat picker of all time by far.
I'm a huge stan but I could see myself agreeing with this.
Arturo Martes Yea, I love em but it's true.
Arturo Martes So Dr.Dre is a bad producer then?
Nicholas Persaud Overrated. Also, he steals credit from people like scott storch, etc.
Arturo Martes Dre always gives co-producer credits.
When Illmatic came out, I thought that was the best rapping ever. Nas is a true artist/poet. Sometimes Vlad speaks as if he doesn't think studying the craft is necessary.
Maaaaan Hearing Ra The Rugged Man and Vlad debate is the most entertaining thing lmao!!
And we didn't heard whats RAs biggiest criticism of Nas. Thanks Vlad !
Nas is coming way a dope beat tho
JADA IS GOAT
What is his problem with NaS
@Jddel Ddel 50 murdered Kiss? I'll give you Sigel, but even that felt like a draw. They both had some heat.
"Nas Is Coming" produced by Dre, is not bad at all. It is not a terrible beat.
For me it's boring.
TonyRedgrave1501 listen to life we chose, doo rags, the message, take it in blood, film, who are you, you're DA man and I could go on and on. The man is the goat
AF Twice Agreed. I like that joint.
nmessai215 I agree. "It was written" has some nice joints but also some miss fires. "Take it in blood", "I gave you power" and "street dreams" are my favorites on that one.
JADA IS BETTER THAN NAS
Vlad should stop dropping silly statements.
RA RUGGED MAN IS REAL MC..AND REAL UNDERSTAND HOW SPEAK ABOUT LEGEND. LOVE YOU BROTHER.. LOVE FROM CZECH REPUBLIC .
Wow, he gave a perspective that is always overlooked
