Awesome final part to the review. Now I see why the fight started on the shock therapy walk around comments....it definitely looks pretty good in some situations but ya, in others it could use a lot of improvement it seems. You gotta get ahold of a speed speedcat 77 and see how that does.
I am not sure it was a "fight" (lol) but there are just too many people being closed minded about the machine without really riding anything else. It's awesome compared to the old cat and there's certainly good ideas embedded but we CURRENTLY just don't think it's as good as the hype.
Thanks for the review buds. As someone who's been thinking about spending a lot of my hard earned cash on sxs unit I appreciate this review. The XX was honestly one of my contenders. It seems like my money is best spent with Polaris or Can-am.
Thanks for taking the time to show us the positives and negatives. Coming from a racing background and being on my 6th SXS its refreshing that someone is finally telling everyone how the machines really are. I hate when the reviews are given by people that are sponsored by the manufacturer. Keep up the great work!!!! Thanks again Tim
Good review. Thanks for not shying away of giving your real opinion. Nothing wrong with that. Too many reviewers are afraid to give negative feedback of products they are testing.
Bottom line, it doesn't compete with the major competitors! I appreciate your honesty! I am in the market for purchase and this was VERY informative! Thank you!
I felt it was good honest and fair. It was very valuable to see the side-by-side comparison and the jump to really fully understand the suspension limitations. I test drove one and I really liked it, i’m curious now what am X.3 would feel like. Keep up the great work.
Its shitty to see breakdowns on a demo run but its definately nice too see an honest review. Its obvious it doesnt hold up to the same beating you guys put on the YXZ, RZRs and X3. Another great vid! Keep em comin boys!
Good, fair and honest review. That’s what we want. Love the blog. I’ll stick with my CFMOTO for now. It’s all I need up here in the north east. Maybe you’ll test one someday just for fun.......
thanks for being so honest all ether reviews just stroke you along and say how grate it is I truly believe what you have to say stay truthful and don't give bullshit reviews and watch your channel grow thanks again and good job
I have recently found your blog. I like your videos, you not only show the ride's, you show the friendship and repair of ridding. I have noticed a theme of your videos. Don't bring spare parts, they just get in the way!
SXSBlog.com Most of the guys I ride with have rzr's so we each take parts, one will bring belts and axles and one will bring front tires and so fourth that way no one is trying to bring everything each share the parts list. Keep up the videos!
Just took our new Wildcat 4x down to St. Helen for the first time after seeing your videos there. It was a fun place to ride, and tons of trails leading all over!
You guys didn't want to say it sucked. You tried not to say it sucked. You did your best to be kind, but I get it, it sucked. The fact they Textron didn't contact you certainly didn't help. Thanks for the great real world reviews from regular guys like us. GREAT JOB !!!!
I appreciate every review you guys give. honest- no BS---not afraid to tell us if its junk or not. I know you guys would even tell us its junk if they paid you. ill say this: the XX looks better than previous wildcats, sounds like a angry weedwhacker but the interior is sloppy and it just appears slow and out of place with the competition. moving on..
Props on the honesty, easy to pander to people just to make fans. Seems like if they do some shock adjustments and fix the reliability issues, this could be a really good machine.
Glad ya guys are doing an honest evaluation of this machine and not boot lick'n Textron.... I hope they make the needed changes and ad some more to an interesting chassis... I hope they get rid of the lime green... when I was sledding we called them "ditch pickles". Textron, time to terba up!!!!
You can tell the wildcat xx rear suspension is not stiff enough to handle that big jump. It does well at soaking the bumps and I believe it will be a good trail machine. For jumping I'm sure just a simple shock adjustment more spring preload and stiffening the shock adjustment is all that's needed. It bottomed out bad and any machine that bottoms out will feel harsh. I'm surprised to hear about that transaxle as they seem to be built strong big Input shaft big output shaft. We are building a turbo version of the wildcat xx and we will know soon how it holds up. One thing is for sure... Textron wanted it to be heavy duty everything is built strong on it. Doesn't meant it will translate into something durable but its beefy looking
Yeah, hopefully the transaxle and front driveshaft issue were just flukes, time will tell. For jumping we had the shocks on the stiffest settings. Unfortunately it's gonna take valving & a re-spring to really make it capable for that kinda stuff. Looking forward to seeing how your turbo build turns out!
That idle sounds nice. Looks like a giant step up from the previous model, good job. Just short on suspension and some drivetrain toughness. Thank you for the honest review.
Thanks guys, after breaking my back on my 4 wheeler (freak accident, 2 ft fall @ 10mph), I'm looking to a sxs now. Always been a cat fan (ie, look at my channel, lol). Your input is highly appreciated. Thank you guys
The honest review is appreciated. That is where you guys hang your hat's. Every chance I get I Rx Textron give you a long term XX. Axles have been an issue on a few. The plunge has to be set right at level and Full droop. The car is 300 lbs heavier than XP. Nick and Nick should have been in XP for jumps. I'm good with the mass for the chassis strength. Looks like a little more right height dialed in would help. Heavier springs, perhaps. I'd like to see Shock Therapy set one up and let you test it. I'd also like to see you test it crawling and duning. For the $ I believe I can still build to what I need, cheaper or same as N/A XP and have a stronger chassis. Keep up the honest reviews.
Thanks Mike. We'd love to put time in one that's setup properly. The point of our review wasn't to suggest how to tweak the machine or anything. We just wanted to see what it was like stock. Hopefully we didn't burn a bridge by being honest.
SXSBlog.com Burn a bridge? Textron should appreciate the review. Us consumers do. Letting some Media people (A few with admittedly zero experience) do a test is one thing. Hammering it to a level some will and some won't take it, should help Textron assess their efforts. They don't want mad/disappointed customers. I'm still trying to get a test drive in Northern California, which I believe will help sales. They need to demo at Glamis too, with and without paddles. Hope they are listening.
I think it was a good fair review for sure. I own an XX & absolutely love it, but I run a lot of trails. Fast through tight trails it feels amazing but I do get the rear end feeling soft. I’ve noticed that myself. I like to jump stuff & haven’t had any trouble yet but I also haven’t had an open area to jump it 40-50ft to flat either lol. I look forward to pushing mine hard every time out. It’s such a confidence boosting machine when you are in it because it is so tight & non clunky I guess you could say. Lots of fun with room for improvement!
I am glad you enjoy it man. As we said it's likely a great trail machine. It didn't like to be pushed hard but with some work it could be much much better.
They said in the video that they have adjusted the rear to max stiffness. I'm not sure if they went as far as to adjust the ride height any but regardless...that would not keep the chassis from contacting the ground....larger tires would help that...but then would take away from the power it's already lacking. So I'm assuming they simply turned in the compression adjustments to max stiffness. Re-valving the shocks would certainly help overall. I love a lot of the race inspired construction details...just needs a little tweaking and hopefully Textron will listen to the input! Great review guys....
I really appreciate this review, thank you for your hard work and money invested into this testing. I have dreamed of doing this type of testing, with my entourage, for 4x4 quads. Real world riding has a way of cutting through the marketing jargon, lol. I would love to see the RS1 tested in the future and maybe the ACE 900. Those would be interesting. Then go back to the beginning and take a Rzr 800 for a test, would be interesting to see how much has changed when demonstrated in the real world. Another idea, test the base model of each SxS and show the improvements shocks, more width, more power, etc can do to each test: drag racing, trail riding, cornering, jumping, etc. Keep up the awesome work! I would love to do what you guys are doing.
Good review, it’s tuff when in the back of your mind you know you have other more capable machines you can ride. “Drive away from the devil” is the new quote for you guys.
Good job on the review boys!Reality is they are a good 4 5 years behind.Needs lots of more improvements before it can be even close to competing with Polaris and Can am
Great review guys! From everything I've seen I think your comments were spot on. I was honestly underwhelmed when I saw the XX for the first time just sitting; to me, it simply didn't even look like it would be a contender in today's market and that's obviously been proven by your testing and review. Like you guys said, if it came out 5 years ago it might have really been something but with the XPTurbo's, Turbo S's, and X3's that are running the market today the XX isn't even worth looking at; not at the price point at least. I think I'd go back to my Rzr XP900 before buying an XX. I cringed watching Sous land that jump in the XX it hit so hard.
Appreciate your candid opinion! Almost kept me from buying one till I watched what shock Therapy had to say about its durability and real world qualities! Then I went to my dealer and asked to try one, I bought it shortly there after. It does lack rebound dampening and the springs in the rear along with compression are a bit soft but on trails where the RZR beats U to death the XX floats like a hovercraft. My suspension will be tuned by Shock Therapy and not for free, but In my opinion the quality of the build seems far superior to any other SXS. They all have issues especially in the first release no matter what brand u buy. My best friend is service manager at a Polaris dealer and he constantly tells me horror stories of steering racks, front ends, differentials, clutches, ball joints, tie rods and so many other issues that I would be afraid to buy Polaris. Not to mention fires! In the end, we all have different needs, sadly every other review of this product is marred by your comments to justify your own opinion of your experiences with XX. I think your review was legit based on what u experienced, but professionalism sometimes dictates standing by what U have experienced and not commenting on what others have experienced as U have with Shock Therapy's review and more recently Dirt Trax review. In order to be professional it is necessary to act professional. I love watching the Blog but recently your defensive comments have caused controversy that is unnecessary!
lol. An opposing comment on a video review lecturing about leaving opposing comments on video reviews... See it's fun calling out things you don't agree with right!? Opinions vary and everybody wants to justify their own, of course, but when watching these reviews sometimes you have to consider who has something to lose and who doesn't... We were gonna buy an XX until we spent time with one and found that it didn't stack up with machines like the X3 & Turbo S when you're riding hard, which is what we do. When they (hopefully) release a competitor with more power / travel / width we'll be first in line.
@@SXSBlog Nick, the difference here is that I am not the one who did a review on a SXS and nobody looks at me like I'm a media figure. I readily admit that the XX is not perfect, nor is any other SXS. I merely stated that as an internet entity with a following, certain actions are scrutinized more readily than those of the people who choose to reply to videos and reviews. We all have opinions and we are all entitled to voice them, you however have made it a point to bash the XX at every opportunity when someone else has something positive to say. I watch the Blog regularly and for the most part enjoy the antics, but as reviewers and testers with a following you are on a different level of accountability. Yes U can say what U like or dislike about any machine during the Blog and that is why we watch, but I feel the your comments in other reviews is more of a means to justify your own opinion of a product. You can do as U want as we all can, but the Blog is what it is because people see a certain degree of professionalism
This is Doug, just for the record. The idea that we go around bashing the XX at every opportunity is an absolute fallacy. You can watch the review series over again and see that we said a lot more positive than negative. For whatever reason the community surrounding this machine is just super sensitive.
SXSBlog.com Wow I figured U were way to busy tweaking to post comments! U may be right about the sensitivity level of XX owners, simply because it is the underdog and has been so long awaited as the Rig that Robby built. My point though may be lost in translation, your review was pretty accurate in each of 3 segments but that was the Blogs interpretation of how it performed. At least 2 other media outlets had differing opinions and never posted on your review. Opinions are like asses, we all have one and we will usually voice our own as u did. But I think commenting on other reviews is not the route the Blog should be taking as U have already voiced your oppinion in your
I'm sure it is hard to give a less than stellar rating or review when someone loans you a unit to test drive. I would like to say thanks for keeping as real as possible. I hope the dealership that loaned you the Wildcat can see that you were not just bashing it but actauly giving your true opinions based on all of the other units you have driven. Thanks again for another informative video!
Ahh feelin better about my xrs purchase now. The numbers were good on the xx but it's nice to see it in action. Feel like I got the right machine for me. They're all fun, any sxs is better than walking. 🍻
Well said. All of them had flaws to work out. I’m a rzr guy. The 14 1k had belt over heating the first turbos had some flaws and they did a good job figuring out what works so if they do exactly what you said and listen to the feed back they could make a hell of a machine with what they have started with.
I thought this was a good honest review. It appears to me the XX needs some refinement and it could be a great machine. If it shed some weight (that would help the suspension and performance) and possibly some clutching and suspension fine tuning and it would have been tough to beat for the NA machines. My biggest concern is the reliability issues. I am a long time Arctic Cat fan (mostly snowmobiles) and like the fellows in the video had high hopes. The high expectations probably also played a roll in being somewhat disappointed. For the price on this machine I would expect more. Hopefully Textron will address some of the issues and refine it into what in my observation is a machine that has a different skill set/niche then the other SxS machines.
At 14:30 while you guys are doing the jumps and whoops in both the RZR and XX, you can clearly see the RZR soaks up the bumps better and you can see threw the whoops the RZR's tires keep really good contact with the ground and the XX tires are bounced off the ground and loose way to much ground contact.
Thanks guys very honest. Will not be lookin at xx this year. Someone on the forum did say tbat textron was putting the havoc motor an 850 i believe into a sport model with the xx suspension. Sounds very interesting for the 50 inch trail models.
can you elaborate on your guys thoughts on the havoc? possibly do another demo and or review on one as well? I would love some real world info on that machine@@SXSBlog
Good stuff guys, I could tell before it even came out that what yall were say is truth. I was also very frustrated that the machine was put out like this. That's why I'm getting a jeep and just keeping the OG cat. Peace !🥓🥓🥓🇺🇸
Nice to see an unbiased review.seems like textron had better seriously think about going to a true multi rate spring in the back along with some revalving. Either that or head back to the drawing board with the entire rear suspension geometry.
Good job being honest. I hope some other brands head your way for testing. I say if they do not send them your way they are afraid of the truth. Good to see Nick kept his NA machine for a nice baseline. If its in the budget hope Doug can do the same when the time comes. Although it would be tough for you guys to test lower end machines such as those in the 50" trail class. That may work though if sent some long term testing machines.
Nice work guys. Doing real world reviews has a way of pouring sand in the eyes of people who take the word / stats of the vendors as gospel. I have no interest in the XX - so I was only introduced to it via the "sales pitch" and "walk around" style reviews. Seeing one run next to the competition under the same conditions was eye opening. For a machine touted to be robust and durable, having 2 breakdowns during testing is unfortunate. Those shocks look like they were tuned poorly, feel bad for Sous's back and knees.
Great review! I'd like to see you guys rate all the NA and Turbo machines by cost. I'm ready to buy a sport SXS and want the most bang for the buck, like everyone else. Like Justin did on the Shock Therapy video of "which UTV to buy". He is mostly talking suspension. I'd like to know overall how they rate....suspension, motor, clutching, reliability, handling, jumping etc. Keep the awesome videos coming!
Great review guys! But I am puzzled! Before the jump everyone in your crew was raving about its handling and ride quality to the point where I had it in my mind to buy one. Then after the jump it turned to shit. It did have mechanical issues but lets not forget the steering rack failure in the X3 when it came out and the RZR 1000 issues, well enough said, ride it, fix it, ride it, fix it again then it catches fire. I actually didn't buy one [XX] because of your review. Then I saw the Shock therapy break down of the XX and was left scratching my head. They are the premier suspension builders and actually pre ran Baja 2 times in XX. They raved about the quality of the car even though they had some teething issues, and went on to say that it was far superior to any other normally aspirated car and could be perfected for the least amount of money. They also stated that any other SXS that ran the Baja 500 2x would be in dire need of repair where XX was still as tight as new. My question is how U could be so excited before the jump and to unimpressed after a jump? I love your reviews but after watching both of Shock Therapy's unboxing and testing of XX I was forced to go see my dealer who lent me an XX for a few days. I am an XX owner now, they are all junk just different degrees but this thing is built as its weight indicates. Glad I watched both reviews from SXS blog and Shock Therapist, but in the end the best review is to drive it yourself and base your decision on how it feels in the environment U ride in!
Absolutely the best to ride it yourself and decide! Everyone has their issues but we never personally had major failures so soon with other models like we did the XX, and that's what we base our reviews on, our own experiences, not others. We liked the XX a lot until we started really pushing it hard.
I would go crazy listening to that engine wrapped out all day long. It’s bad enough in the yxz and this thing keeps it on the rev limiter all the time. I like the vacuum remark! Thanks for the honest review guys...too bad textron didn’t get you another one to continue to work with.
I just bought a 2015 1000 x limited with the Elka stage 5 shocks, aftermarket exhaust etc. Have to do a belt change and breakin but looking forward to putting many hours on it.
The XX has a chassis that should excel on the rocks with a motor made for the desert. It's a combination of parts that just don't work. Hopefully textron will make adjustments and get this thing up to par with the other manufacturers.
I've watched this 3 times now.. Initially had such high hopes for the xx. I was at the dealer ready to purchase. After looking closer I just wasn't confident in the build quality. Absolutely loved the can-am x3 but couldn't get over the low riding position and squeaky shocks. Razr turbo was a perfect fit but the local polaris dealer sucks, they act like a snooty Harley dealership. Polaris friends had nothing good to say about the service dept. I ended up purchasing a new 2017 yxz, the price was 4-5k less than the competitor machines. I figured I could put the extra savings into suspension and a few performance mods to somewhat compare to the X3 & turbo razr. Suspension still falls short, but fun factor & overall build quality outweighs.
It just sounds like the engine is way ahead of the clutch and once the clutch transitions it will take off and the RPM's will get drop down a bit but it never does. I wonder how long that engine can last screaming like that. Thank you for all the hard work and time invested.
The engine will hold up without a problem, similar ones in Yamaha's sleds turn crazy RPMs all day long, but the question is whether or not you enjoy that sort of power delivery. Thanks for the support!
Do you guys think you could get your hands on an Rs1 I would really like to hear and see your opinion on that machine I feel like you give the most honest opinion that I would trust please keep up the great work I am a fan for life thanks guys.
I'll take cushy ride and trail compliance over bottoming suspension on 20 foot jumps any day. I'm guessing that less than 1% of potential XX owners will jump their machines like that. I sure wish my Maverick Trail was even half as cushy as the XX because the rear suspension only moves more than a few inches when you hit big whoops or jump it. I think they specified super stiff springs to maintain ground clearance, which is especially important because of the long wheelbase. Needless to say I take the bumps pretty slow for that reason -- wish I could fly though them like the XX can!
Great review on the Wildcat xx! It looks like a great machine. I think if it didn't weigh so much it might not have as many failures. Fix that and some of the weak points it probably be a real good machine.
Good job with the testing...Biggest thing I noticed was the lack of attention by CAT in the area of exhaust tuning, that 3cyl genesis should sound like a crotch rocket as it does in the SR viper and Nytro sleds. Would love to see more testing with a good aftermarket exhaust to do the engine justice.
1st of all...great job on the review. My personal take on the XX IS simple and it comes down to the ENGINE.... A low torque hi revving engine in an extremely overweight machine. 1800lbs ..she's a big girl.
Other than the jump, all of you guys seemed very impressed with the machine. The drag races showed what was expected. The XX was right there with the NA machines & couldn't keep up with the turbo machines. Can't fault it for that. Ripping the trails & whoops, judging by your physical reactions & comments, you guys were all very impressed with the machine. Then at the end I was surprised at such a negative review. Wondering what happened there? Was it because Textron didn't get back with you about getting a machine from them? Either way, I've always been a fan, love the riding videos, love the wrenching videos & appreciate your attempts to make all testing as fair as possible. Keep up the good work.
The fact that there were multiple major mechanical failures played a big part (axle, front diff, transaxle). We had to ask a friend to drive from Canada to finish our review because the first 2 demo units broke down. There's potential here no doubt. Maybe we just got unlucky? Would need more time in one to prove dependability though.
Great review, this is the reason why I erased a half a dozen other channels you guys keep it honest keep up the good work. PS would like to here your thoughts on the X3 Xrc.
I would love to see you guys test honda pioneer and the new Wolverine. I know they mite not be as powerful as the turbo. but I think a review on the would be splendid.
A good honest review and with me just watching the video it seemed that it had to be up in the pipe just to get it rolling. Back to the drawing board Arctic cat...
hay guys if you every get to Tenn. to windrock it a atv park let me know give me about 4 weeks to get ready and i will try to meet you there they say it the biggest ride in the USA maby the world WINDROCK looks like a blast i have not been there yet but i would like to go keep up the gopod work and thank for beening true to the sport
Good review this is exactly why I watch, I want to know what it really is, not a fluffed up review with the occasional race car driver mentioned to make it out to be a monster. It looks odd and seems like it was rushed out to the market. After seeing the suspension at work, my back hurts watching that hit. I’m sure they will get it worked out but in the next few days I’m getting a new machine and I can say that one isn’t even in the running Really think it would have been a good idea to come out with a turbo model as well. If they want to compete with what’s out there now. That extra 15 hp is lost somewhere because it sure didn’t race like it had 10% more power then a 1k Thanks for the real truth about what it is and what it isn’t
ROTAXD In person I didn’t like much about it, I’m sure your right though. They just have a long way to go, was riding in WV all weekend and of the rather large group I was with and most had amazing machines, not one of them liked it at all. That’s not a good way to start. Lol
The chassis and stock cage appear very stout compared to others. Front and rear clips are interchangeable if crashed, so that's a plus. Just part of the good with the bad. Definitely not a light weight dune ripper but perhaps a good long term investment for some.
Erik Jeffery Mike Desilets hopefully Textron does what arctic did not do in the past and listens to both it's customers as well as the haters and uses their feedback to guide them when it comes to improvements. If they do, they'll stand a chance, if not, maybe they'd better stick to building aircraft.
The cage looks decent the rear end is horrible looking imo the interchangeable parts are a good idea depending on the price of those parts I know they where not easy on it and Im not to mine, but to break 2 and have a fan come in to help them finish the review isn’t what I am looking for out of a $20k machine Not a total loss I just think it needs a couple years to sort out the flaws.
Great review, I get that it was similar to the 1k, just not for what you guys do, but was it better than the yami? I picked up that Doug is a little disappointed in the yxz after the turba s and x3. I am assuming that he is in the market for the next best machine from a different manufacturer than P or CA?
@@wraith511802003 Is it that hard to understand? He is bad mouthing the stock XX... but if the RZR was such a great machine from the factory, why does it have all those aftermarket parts? He obviously thought the Stock RZR was garbage, thats why he changed everything on it. Pretty simple concept, if you still can't make sense of that, I can't help you.
Its almost like it tries to look the part of sport utv, but with a utility utv handling. Rev's too high imo, and its not that stylish. Front end is ok, but the rear is long and ugly. It did ok in the categories, but not my cup of tea. Good reviews, thanks for taking the time to show it off, and hope Sous gets a back rub or something cause that jump looked rough haha.
Jesse D I'm not sure I'd call it's handling quite like that of a utility machine. I cannot see a ranger or a gator handling nearly that well. Maybe more along the lines of a General 1000 that's billed as a crossover.
Jesse D the clunks are a staple of textron/cat ownership from what I've seen lol. If they can get the dhock valving dialed, the weight may actually serve to make the thing more comfortable/predictable for some riders. I'll give you this, with the current shock setup, it looks like there's a lot to be desired. It will be interesting to see what happens when some of the aftermarket guys start spending some time dialing shocks in for it. (If somebody comes up with an actermarket Dynamix type of kit for it...it could actually be a monster).
I think y'all did a good job on the review. I'm not even close to interested in Textron but I am curious to see what they came out with. I think Textron is just in a lower catigory. Like I said before...they're the Cleveland Browns of the off-road world. If they played with the college teams they'd stand out. But They just don't stand out when Playing with the big boys.
I SLOW MODE BOTH JUMPS THE polarus completely bottomed out the front tires and suspension.but the rear was great.the cat bottomed the front suspension but not the tire but the rear seamed to soft and actually bounced.so i agree with you guys the cats rear suspension could be stiffened more to make it a better jump machine but it will give it a better all round feel the way it is!
I like your review, but imo the XX it’s a great unit, even better than Rzrxp1k, of course it’s not comparable with the big boys you ride now, but for the price tag it’s a nice unit. I ride in baja and open desert, of course the best machines for that kind of terrain are the X3 XRS and the TurboS, but for those who don’t want to spend a lot of money and have an excel te suspensión design the XX it’s a great considerable option.
At $24.995 CDN which is more than the price of a 64" Can-Am turbo (120 hp)($24.199 CDN) it's no contest give the $800 buck's to evolution power sport's and be set. thank's guy's for taking the XX off my short list !
You guys are right, it sounds like you are driving in the low range gear. Its creaming and only going 30mph. It must sound like its going to blow up at 55mph
Too Funny. We spent the last two days riding both a new Razor and the XX. We hard a total different opinion. Every one that was riding agreed. One day in the Mountains and one day in the desert. And we all liked the XX better. The ride and handling was superior on the XX. We raced and it was a dead heat. I guess its how and where you ride. But the XX was the ride all liked. I'm buying a new SXS this year and it will be an XX for sure after riding both back to back.
Certainly everyone's tastes and circumstances are different, and riding them yourself is always the best whenever possible. Good luck with the new machine!
SXS Rage that comment at the end of the video made me turn the video off, textron didn't call, sounded like someone wanted a sponsored machine.... Didn't get it and decided to crap on the machine, had TOR called sounds like the final conclusion would have been different. Unbiased is not how I would describe this channel at all, sad that folks view it that way.
This is a real world comparison, it is also what I am hearing when you get to ride one then the other, is it possible these guys are disgruntled because textron wont provide one, cheap for them. who knows?
Not disgruntled whatsoever, all of this was filmed prior to Textron suggesting that they might provide another demo machine. We felt bad about having to come down on it, and were willing to wait to give it yet another chance, but they never followed through. We only included that note to reinforce the fact that we tried to give this machine every chance possible before giving it a less than stellar review.
1st machine broke an axle, 2nd machine broke a shear coupler resulting in a loss of 4wd, then soon after the transaxle let go resulting in no high range.
Thanks for the honest review guys!!! I couldn’t agree with you more the xx is over priced and very late to the market. For what you get they should have priced it with the xp1k at 17999. Who cares that wildcat guys got so butt hurt about the review. They are like liberals the very loud minority. Keep up the good work and thanks for not selling out 👍👍👍
So that's all folks. What did you think of our review?
SXSBlog.com good.. nice and thorough job on the testing
Guess we know who is on the wildcat payroll lol
Weird how that works lol
Nick:Production....🎬Doug: mechanic....🛠Soux: Driver!! 💯🏎🤟🏼👍🏼 Favorite Channel.....By far! Started watching you’ll at 1800 now almost 23k....Congrats!
Thanks man! Some people just get it.
Can't find a more legit honest review anywhere. Thanks for keepin it real buds
I hope these guys never get bought out.
Thank you!
Love the honesty! That's part of the reason this is one of the best RUclips channels.
I felt it was good honest and fair. It was very valuable to see the side-by-side comparison and the jump to really fully understand the suspension limitations.
I test drove one and I really liked it, i’m curious now what am X.3 would feel like.
Keep up the great work.
You guys are more than just number 1 in the number 2 business!
Bad ass legit review,I forwarded the video to my buddy that was in the market for one, hopefully your video helps with his decision thanks guys👍
Thanks man. We didn't make the video with the intention of swaying anyone but our opinion is our opinion.
I totaled my 2016 YXZ last weekend, was thinking about a XX until I watched this video so I ordered me another 2018 YXZ SE today, thanks guys!
It wasn't our intention to sway anyone but we had to call it like we saw it.
thanks for being so honest all ether reviews just stroke you along and say how grate it is I truly believe what you have to say stay truthful and don't give bullshit reviews and watch your channel grow thanks again and good job
I have recently found your blog. I like your videos, you not only show the ride's, you show the friendship and repair of ridding.
I have noticed a theme of your videos. Don't bring spare parts, they just get in the way!
haahhaah kinda?!
SXSBlog.com
Most of the guys I ride with have rzr's so we each take parts, one will bring belts and axles and one will bring front tires and so fourth that way no one is trying to bring everything each share the parts list.
Keep up the videos!
Great set of reviews/videos guys. Very refreshing to hear from un-paid opinions.
Great review, no sugar coated sponsoring fluff, just the truth!
I'm ready for the Terba Lyfe on a XX for sure.
SXSBlog.com in what circumstances did the transaxle fail?
@@SXSBlog I will make you a nice video of how to jump an XX with stock suspension without landing it like a car crash...
Good review. Glad you pushed it and was honest about the mechanical problems.
It's the only thing we've ever tested that's had problems like that.
Thanks guys for all the hard Work! Really enjoyed the video!
What about pumping up the shocks a bit. I mean you didn't mention shock adjustments.
All great ideas Brent! It would be crazy to get a RZR 800 and compare it. That'd be awesome! For the time being we're lining up a RS1 to demo.
Thanks Brandon! We weren't trying to bash. But this is what happens I guess.
But I think commenting on other reviews is not the route the Blog should be taking as U have already voiced your oppinion in your
Waited a year for this machine. I saw 1800 lb weight and bought a 2018 xp1k. So glad i did.
All that weight puts strain on the drive train and such.
You're welcome, and thank you for watching and supporting!
Ahh feelin better about my xrs purchase now. The numbers were good on the xx but it's nice to see it in action. Feel like I got the right machine for me. They're all fun, any sxs is better than walking. 🍻
Nice work buds. good review on the wildcat can't wait till the next video
Excellent review, that was a lot of work put in on your part. Thanks!!
Great review! Love the honesty! I had high hopes. Thanks for all the hard work!
Hopefully Textron will address some of the issues and refine it into what in my observation is a machine that has a different skill set/niche then the other SxS machines.
well there ya go fellas, honest review and its appreciated. keep it going. cheers
We did love our Havoc X demo and wish we had more time with it. I think that's a REAL top to bottom Textron machine.
can you elaborate on your guys thoughts on the havoc? possibly do another demo and or review on one as well? I would love some real world info on that machine@@SXSBlog
Good stuff guys, I could tell before it even came out that what yall were say is truth. I was also very frustrated that the machine was put out like this. That's why I'm getting a jeep and just keeping the OG cat. Peace !🥓🥓🥓🇺🇸
Nice to see an unbiased review.seems like textron had better seriously think about going to a true multi rate spring in the back along with some revalving. Either that or head back to the drawing board with the entire rear suspension geometry.
Wow! Watch the front tires quiver when Doug takes it through the whoops section! Great video.
I noticed that during the edit. I didn't see it while filming otherwise I would have focused on it more.
We're working on it man. There's just so many things to consider it's hard to juggle whats important.
Excellent review. Just what people want honest down to earth revenue. Thanks guys 👊
Thanks for the honest review, we want the real results.
I honestly think its a great machine. Its got its pros and cons but it is still definitely keeping it real.
We are working on that very thing, stay tuned!
SXSBlog.com if yall love the 1k rzr just wait till u try the rs1....thing blows me away every time i push her
SXSBlog.com awesome i can't wait thanks guys.
I 2nd that.
I really like your team's appraisal.. you guys put it thru the wringer.
And there you have it folks! The first real review on you tube
So many better machines out there to spend your money on. It is what it is. Great review guys
1st of all...great job on the review.
My personal take on the XX IS simple and it comes down to the ENGINE....
A low torque hi revving engine in an extremely overweight machine.
1800lbs ..she's a big girl.
The Turbo S is that heavy as well and it doesn't suffer from the same issues.
SXSBlog.com the turbo s has a lot better engine
From everything I've seen, the XX would be an excellent $15,000 machine but at $21,000 it's a hard pass.
They built a solid machine but you can tell the extra weight does effect the preformance. Hope they get the first year bugs worked out.
Killer review buds! Unfortunate it’s not much of a competitor to the rzr, x3, yxz. Would have been fun to watch you guys build and beat on one.
It's not the best out there, but it's the best they put out, that's my take 👍👍👍
Great review, this is the reason why I erased a half a dozen other channels you guys keep it honest keep up the good work. PS would like to here your thoughts on the X3 Xrc.
If we can get our hands on an XRC we'll be sure to give it thorough thrashing!
Yes...XRC 72” review please
Erik Jeffery that extra 15 ponies is likely lost in the nearly 400 lbs of weight it has on any of it's competitors.
ROTAXD
In person I didn’t like much about it, I’m sure your right though.
The cage looks decent the rear end is horrible looking imo the interchangeable parts are a good idea depending on the price of those parts I know they where not easy on it and Im not to mine, but to break 2 and have a fan come in to help them finish the review isn’t what I am looking for out of a $20k machine
Not a total loss I just think it needs a couple years to sort out the flaws.
Great review, I get that it was similar to the 1k, just not for what you guys do, but was it better than the yami? I picked up that Doug is a little disappointed in the yxz after the turba s and x3. I am assuming that he is in the market for the next best machine from a different manufacturer than P or CA?
Nick: You like it better than the XX better than the RZR?..
Sous: (zero hesitation)NO!!
LMFAO!!!!!!
After that landing I can see why he would say that.
Ofcourse he doesn't, he has already modded the RZR and made it the way he likes it.... If he was so in love with that RZR, why isn't it bone stock?
@@BUGZ2OO2 Your comment makes ZERO sense...
All I really meant was its heavy and clunky like the utility series. I know its gets it better than my rzr 800s haha
And I almost forgot. The turbo s has 25" of travel and 150lbs lighter.
Great review! I can't understand why Textron never called back. They haven't yet??
“Underwhelming” sums it up perfectly. Still a nice machine but it’s a few years too late. Sub’d
"You just feel like you're trying to drive away from the devil! 😂
great honest review...keeping it real..
At $24.995 CDN which is more than the price of a 64" Can-Am turbo (120 hp)($24.199 CDN) it's no contest give the $800 buck's to evolution power sport's and be set.
thank's guy's for taking the XX off my short list !
SXSBLOG: I Really Like All Three of Your Videos, But I Still Like the Can-Am Maverick the BEST GUYS 🏎🏎🏎
You guys are right, it sounds like you are driving in the low range gear. Its creaming and only going 30mph. It must sound like its going to blow up at 55mph
Good review. Sounds like it’s screaming but don’t look like it’s going very fast
When you guys jumped the wildcat did you put the Fox shocks to the hardest setting?
yes
It looks to me you need to flatten out the little bump in the beginning of the jump it looks like it dips a little bit...Great vids....
@@jackhlandersiii2290 I couldnt agree more. I see right through their unbiased bull shit.
I love how in this video you guys are being so polite that the XX is the biggest turd on the market lol!!!!
Would like it if you guys could go into more depth on what problems you had with it it! What broke and how?
1st machine broke an axle, 2nd machine broke a shear coupler resulting in a loss of 4wd, then soon after the transaxle let go resulting in no high range.
Thanks for the honest review guys!!! I couldn’t agree with you more the xx is over priced and very late to the market. For what you get they should have priced it with the xp1k at 17999. Who cares that wildcat guys got so butt hurt about the review. They are like liberals the very loud minority. Keep up the good work and thanks for not selling out 👍👍👍
