I also rode a Thomas HDX when I used to live in Chesapeake, VA numbers 951, 929 and 915 for my class field trip. I also rode home on a Thomas HDX school bus number 935 which was subsituted for my school bus number 245.
These interiors are almost like Scottsdale Unified School District's 2006 (904 to 925) and 2007 (926 to 962) HDX's in some ways... they have MBE900's but eleven buses have sadly been retired (905, 910, 927-928, 939, 942-943, and 954-957; bus 939 was auctioned May 2022, the other buses were auctioned October 2021). But ours had the side emergency exit handles on the bottom of the windows.
I have never ridden in a Thomas HDX! I bet I will get to ride in the one with Air Conditioning. no matter what new Thomas HDX I get, I will get to hear a City bus sound
I have ridden quite a bit of HDX's. I've ridden them in my school district. But they were terrible riding buses. They bounce up and down and it drives me crazy. But that's only because they were old ones. My district never buys brand-new HDX's. They buy C2's brand-new.
Ugh I hate those doors.. rattle....I drive a 2004 and that dang thing don't close all the way tight especially when I'm running highway speeds...I miss the manual doors
Indiana doesn't require the crossing gate on the front of the bus? Also, here in KY, for the side emergency exit door, we don't have any seats in front of the door to allow quick egress in an emergency evacuation.
I rode hdxs in 4th grade summer school on bus 399 witch is a 2006 4th grade and as a transfer bus in 5th grade on bus 395 witch is also a 2006 and in 5th grade I also rode bus 424 for about half of the school year and it a 2008

Sounds like the Cummins L9 with Allison 2500/3000 PTS transmission. At least that’s what we have at my district and it sounds awfully similar… could be B6.7 though since this bus is in a flat area. We have hills and mountains so our districts opt for the bigger motors.
Remember Pam The Bus PUSD Driver uses 2018 Thomas Saf-T-Liner HDX With Yellow Barrier #27 rides to Porterville Fair on May 12, 2022.
I rode on these buses in middle and high school!!! Definitely my favorite bus!!! I felt safe on this bus...
Having driven these, I know this sound quite well. Sounds to me like a Cummins L9+Allison 3000 PTS combo 😁

The turbo sounds like that on the legendary mbe om926la
This is my favorite bus. Thanks for the footage
I’ve ridden these HDXs when I attend October Fest and Fair. Even during my high school life.
My district only has HDX's. I've ridden on every year model of theirs (2007, 2009, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019) at least once.
Absolutely brilliant video man can you please see if you can do more ride along videos only longer
I've been on an HDX which is 259. However, my district only has 2 HDXs and they're mainly for field trips.
Man, I wish we had these buses! I live in Fulton County, and we don’t have these buses.
I’ve been on a few HDX’s in between the fairgrounds and a transit center, and those buses were packed.
Never been on one, in fact there's few Thomas transits up here, mainly Blue Birds and ICs
If I was a kid riding this HDX I would purposely sit all the way in the back so I can hear that 6.7 Cummings put in that work

@@RafaRadityo7 no, I didn't, but I got to see a peek inside an Air Conditioned Thomas HDX
I like the HDXs but I feel Thomas could move the parking brake to a better location than under the steering wheel

My district has these. Definitely sounds like my bus. I don’t have this bus for school.
My School District's Bus 103 is a 2014 Thomas Minotour.
I always ride an HDX to my job site and on community trips
Sounds a lot like our 2014 HDX’s
rode one all through middle school

I think it’s up to the district if they want a crossing gate on the bus or not but I’m not 100% sure as Indiana is not my home state
