I'm almost 28 a few years ago I was in a deep depression and I friend invited me to go to this comic book event, it was pretty cool there was a local guy making this HP Lovecraft inspired story so I went, I found out it was a nearby a place were people rented out tables to play board games, I found out that kids and adults still played YGO I decided to buy a deck more for nostalgia's sake and play with my friend, we got super into and I started going out to play it really helped. Thanks Yu-Gi-Oh.
I feel you, it reminds me of the best time in a modern life, those salad days between high school and figuring everything out...I can still feel it listening to this
Im here right now in 2022 because I found my parents old desktop from 04 in the attic and turned it on, logged into my account on windows xp and seen this song on my desktop...booted it up in windows media player 7 then came here to appreciate it some more.

This song is pretty clever. Uses cards and dueling as a metaphor for life. It really has nothing to do with actual dueling or Yu-Gi-Oh! but a lot of kids probably didn't notice back then, or at least didn't care so long as the song used words relating to the show/movie/game.
Yugioh taught kids that all you need to save the world is good in your heart, friends you love, and a dead guy inside you. Wait what was I trying to prove
Don't forget majority of the time the main character breaks the rules or does some thing that makes no sense like fuse a magic card to a monster card with polymerization to some how cripple a blue eyes ultimate dragon. With the power of cheating & creativity, saving the world is a piece of cake.
Keenan King holy shit thank you for sparking the little candle in my head that thought it knew this song- I remember I would play the shit out of that disk but had completely forgotten about it
I remember that growing up, most people were either a Yu-Gi-Oh kid or a Pokemon kid. I was one of the few Yu-Gi-Oh kids at my school. Granted I loved both shows (like most people), but preferred Yu-Gi-Oh.
BabyCassia I was both (more yugioh), but I was too good and so damn lucky that nobody in my neighborhood wanted to duel me so then I turned more to pokemon (specifically the games) and now I'm the closet thing to a Pokemon Professor, but unfortunately I may retire with the pokemon franchise depending how Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon goes. On the plus side when yugioh darksides of dimensions was confirmed I refound my love of duel monsters.
My favorite thing about watching syndicated Saturday morning cartoons, especially Yu-Gi-Oh, was that EVERYONE would talk about the episode when we went back to school on Monday. Talk about a class discussion! ^^ Those were the days...
+Chase I owned it on DVD the my cats got it and no more No i have to stream it instead of a big screen nastalgia feeling siting with the tapes and manga
have you tried using a cabel to connect your PC to your TV? you can use your TV as a second computer monitor, giving you that true "movie-at-home" experience.
Listening to this in my mid 20’s and remembering all the duels I had when I was younger and imagining we were at battle city and taking pride in our decks while this song played in our room is what yugioh meant to us. Now these lyrics and the series’ theme and messages mean so much more
Honestly growing up being a kid apart of the 2000's yugioh, gx , and 5ds were the best ever tbh they were so iconic.. 🔥 until the world started getting sensitive and made the newer shows more Kiddish , like we weren't kids too lol. the world is something else. we'd probably still have dope shows and real songs if the world didn't flip over haha. but it's alright though 😂😊
I remember the first time I heard this, it wasn't on the yu-gi-oh movie cd... it was on a disc that mcdonalds was giving with their happy meals with 5 cards a year or 2 prior to the movie, some rare cards, some not, it was like an activity game, main goal was to find all 7 millenium items
Didn't they give out more than one cd? I got the one with this song on it but I swear I had a friend that got a Pegasus cd haha. I decided to try to find them online
Yugioh will always have a special place in my heart. A close friend of mine named Carlos that I lost almost 10 years ago used to Duel with me everywhere, and even helped me buy Yugioh the Falsebound Kingdom. I'll never regret getting into this beautiful game. Rest In Paradise Carlos Ruiz Reyes
Gotta rewatch all Of Yu-Gi-Oh! Cheers to one of the best animes to exist at that time. No other show had crazy hairstyles like this one 😂 Hair gel made outta steel~
#RIPKazukiTakahashi Adding this to the playlist I'm listening to today in tribute. I grew up on the manga, the "Music To Duel By" cd, and also a cd-rom that I got in a garage sale that seems to have been a McDonalds collab thing. It had the shortened theme, a 2nd song I still can't remember, and this song. And since it was a cd-rom (so much cooler than a simple cd!) it also had games & a video you could access if you put in the pc cd drive. #SoEpic
Mcdonalds had some exclusive cards as Happy Meals for a time, with 1 of 3 CDs packed in: Yugi, Kaiba or Pegasus. Every CD had this song, but the rest were varied. I'm sure there's playlists for them on RUclips.
And that's why 4Kids got Yu-Gi-Oh....they wanted to make it Entertaining for Everyone!! You got all these cool music videos and these awesome songs they had for the show and the movie!! :D
Before the movie came out, did anyone else get this song in a really small cd as a kid? The cd had like 3 songs on it. I'm having trouble remembering if it was from BK, McDonald's, or from a cereal box. But anyways, the song takes me way back.
I am so in love with this anime/soundtrack, all things Yu-gi. takes me back to being a kid. This was always my favorite song on the OST, and I still know it by heart ❤
It could also be thought of as a deeper thing, like life itself. "Stacked the deck myself so there's no one else to blame" Made your own choices so there's no one else to blame for the turn out. "Are we just puppets in a master plan?" Guess you could call it society as a metaphor, are we acting as ourselves or how society wants us to act or other things like that. Either way it's a great song in my opinion.
I was around 11 years old, trying to skateboard in my bedroom. Just got back from McDonald's with my mighty kids meal. Popping in my new cd. one card short. Life was good.
I remember when this film came out my sister took me to see it was awesome, I got so many cards that day by kids being stupid thinking they could play the shining dragon that they got given when buying there tickets I got waterpon I on the other hand had blue eyes ultimate because I used it for master dragonknight lol good times.
I've got this song on two cds, there's also about four other songs that were clipped for tv on them. I remember MickeyDs had them with the kid's meals way back when this was YuGiOh. There were three cds total for that promo. I still love this song, more than once I put one of those cds in my player just for this one song.
i love the lyric i stack the deck my self and its so funny how this song is playing wile atem is at the front that dude had to sack or cheat to win al those duels
its weird. I kind of half remember this song- nostalgia half happened where I got a weird little memory high in the back of my head and then the front was like "what the fuck are you nostalgia-ing at?" because I only remember little bits of the original series
I've been playing Digimon lately and as I game I like to have something play in the background cuz training your Digi can get a little tedious. As I finished the first 4 Digimon series during my 40 hours of play (not even close to finishing the game), Hulu automatically went to Yu-Gi-Ohthen this song came up. All of it just takes me back to my childhood.
Rip Kazuki Takahashi. May you always be remembered.
Believe in the Heart of the Cards
What deck do you play?
that's awesome, hope your doing much better these days! trust the heart of the cards! 2022 and yu go oh is still going strong
Cool story bro
This song takes me back to more simple times in my life.
I feel that man...
Thomas McCubbin yugioh truely is the king of games
I feel you, it reminds me of the best time in a modern life, those salad days between high school and figuring everything out...I can still feel it listening to this
Damn straight.
True
If this is not playing at my funeral I ain’t going
😂😂😂😂

Thanks for this useless information
@@Ihavetocorrectyou Thanks for being a useless jerk....
And it's not useless info; he's giving info and letting people know who created the song....
Even after over 20 years, I still think this is one of the best songs I have ever heard in my entire life!!
Memories flooding back
It's definitely got that 90's rock rhythm/third wave vibe.
That moment you realize the instrumental of this song was used in Dark Side of Dimensions for the mall theme.
WHAT
WHAT
WHAT
I need someone to fact check this.
Lol I ain't lying man I know that tune all too well
This song is pretty clever. Uses cards and dueling as a metaphor for life. It really has nothing to do with actual dueling or Yu-Gi-Oh! but a lot of kids probably didn't notice back then, or at least didn't care so long as the song used words relating to the show/movie/game.
Ehh, there may be a few that noticed... after all, the literal first line is "Life's just a game."... kids are smarter then they are given credit for.
I agree, this song is the ultimate underdog tune. Everyone feels like this at one point or another in their life.
@@13KuriMaster idk man that could be pretty metaphorical
Pepridge farm noticed, Pepridge farm notices ALL!!!

Harry Baron-Richardson lmao. xD I thought this was going to be a feel good-ignorant comment. Instead you made me laugh. ^~^ thank u person

Also, having the dead guy cheat your friends out of well deserved wins. (Looking at you Duelist Kingdom final and Battle City semifinal.)
very well said
And to challenge them to a kids card game
I use to have this CD. Been almost ten years since I heard it and still reaches me the same way.
The CD from McDonald’s
it has to be a minimum of 5 years since I heard this, and I'm still SINGING THE LYRICS FROM MEMORY
awesome
ChaoticEnigma me and my nephew do that with the entire soundtrack
Back when crush 40 sonic and game cube was a thing
McDonalds was giving away a yugioh cd years ago. It had these songs

Song got always stuck in my head
+Keenan King litterally just posted that lol, also was the only time I heard that Panik song released
Yep, 2002 part of a MIGHTY KIDS MEAL promotion! I tested mine tonight and it still works lol
@greenadrenaline6405 Damn, you still have a copy? I lost mine when I was a kid lol.
Almost 20 years since the release of this movie and I’m still listening to these sound tracks from the movie.
Oh man I didn't think I'd tear up listening to this song
I remember listening to this on my cd player as a kid. My favorite song 😂
I remember that growing up, most people were either a Yu-Gi-Oh kid or a Pokemon kid. I was one of the few Yu-Gi-Oh kids at my school. Granted I loved both shows (like most people), but preferred Yu-Gi-Oh.
Yea I was a Yu-Gi-Oh! Kid as well. I think i liked the more mature theme of the show. And the tcg was a lot of fun as well.
This song just took me back to my childhood when me and friends would duel with our uber awesome duel disks in his front yard..
+Becks Watkins I still own a duel disk (GX) but still. I used to have the original until my parents sold it when i was young for $5 at a yard sale.

This music should be the opening theme for ALL Yu-Gi-Oh! series.
That would be so annoying tbh
Feels more like an ending anyways if you ask me.
i think it should be like one of the characters ringtones on a phone like misa amanes ringtone was the deathnote season 1 opening theme lol
Bueno, tampoco la pasion ajajaj

LG it was a yellow disk with yami yugi in the front.. i think..?
Daniel Nicolas I think I remember it being Pegasus
Think those CDs had three different decals on them. All the same songs, but different pictures.o.o
It was cool in the dark side of dimensions movie you can hear this music in the background in the mall scene
The Master Duel experience.

Honestly think we're all one card short in this life, ironically
I AM IN LINE TO SEE THE RE RELEASED VERSION IN THEATERS RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!
ohhh the memories...
Well in Season 1 the rules were wildly different but from Season 2 onwards the rules in the anime were on par with real life.
Nope. The life points were 8000. The show was 4000. The official one lowered it because everyone was too dumb to rtfm in a time where EVERYONE rtfm
thnx for punting this on RUclips i remember when i was a kid and listen to this song every day i battled with my brother then again thnx your awesome
