El Dr. Chen Alon visitó el Forn de teatre Pa'tothom el pasado febrero. Es un activista de teatro, actor y director, quien escribió su Ph.D. en el Modelo polarizado palestino-israelí de Teatro del Oprimido, en el Departamento de Teatro de la Universidad de Tel-Aviv. Como comandante (res.) en el ejército israelí fue cofundador de "Courage to Refuse" (Coraje para Rechazar), un movimiento de oficiales y soldados combatientes que se niegan a servir en los territorios palestinos ocupados, una acción por el que fue condenado a prisión. Chen es también co-fundador de "Combatants for Peace" (Combatientes por la Paz), un movimiento de combatientes palestinos e israelíes que han abandonado el camino de la violencia y juntos trabajan en una lucha no violenta contra la ocupación. El activismo en la compleja realidad israelo-palestina lo llevó de ser un actor profesional y director -desde el teatro de repertorio-, a buscar y crear nuevas formas de activismo político, en el teatro israelo-palestino para resistir de forma no violenta a la ocupación.
The Polarized Theatre of the Oppressed, Dr. Chen Alon is a theatre activist, actor and director, who wrote his Ph.D. on the Palestinian-Israeli Polarized Model of Theatre of the Oppressed, in the Theatre Department at Tel-Aviv University. As a Major (res.) in the Israeli army he co-founded "Courage to Refuse", a movement of officers and combatant soldiers who refuse to serve in the occupied Palestinian territories, an action for which he was sentenced to prison. Chen is also a co-founder of "Combatants for Peace", a movement of Palestinian and Israeli combatants who have abandoned the way of violence and struggle together non-violently against the occupation. Activism in the complicated reality in Israel/Palestine led him as a professional actor and director, from the repertory theatre, to search and create new forms of political activism, in the Israeli-Palestinian theatre to resist non-violently the occupation.
