Solution for my problem: When you install Python, choose the Customize option and it should have a checkbox for creating System Variables or whatever. Enable that.

When I click Edit I dont get the window where i can add a new path
If you're on Windows 7 just click "New". Variable name:Path, Variable value: the location you just copied. It worked for me. HTH
