I found out about this cover while going on a 90's song spree and listening to the original version by Christina Aguilera and decided to check it out. I'm 19 (born in '96) and I was so surprised to hear that people actually thought that Dove Cameron was the original singer. I've grown up with this song and it still plays on the radio sometimes, so it really came as a shock to me. I think Dove has a beautiful and soulful voice. I actually find it somewhat similar to Xtina's. All in all, I think her vocals are "on fleek" in this song. However, I do not find this cover very enjoyable and much prefer the original version. I'm not a fan of the sped up tempo and dance beat. I do however see why people find it addicting to listen to as it does have a catchy beat. I'm not going to ultimately compare the two singers. They both have fantastic voices (although I do wonder how much of autotune Dove uses - not saying I doubt her ability at all to sing because I do believe she can). Dove is up and coming. Xtina had her time (and isn't completely irrelevant for the time being). People need to learn to stop comparing artists so harshly. Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but that does not mean they are always the right one. You may be a bigger fan of Dove Cameron than of Xtina (especially if you grew up with Dove and not Xtina), but that doesn't mean that Dove has a better voice nor does it mean she has a worse voice if you feel the opposite.
