    Friendly advice: Please mount chain guard, even if that thin chain is rated OK, you don't want a 56hp chain whip in the back of your head. Also, the chain looks really thin =) Love the motor+reduction setup!

      agreed - Well they talk about the battery pack, the 300A protection switch and the control systems a lot (including wood on top of the seat-mounted LiPo packs - 'smart' move there... :P ), plus the acceleration rates are far too fast to have reliable control over the vehicle (because it wouldn't be road legal in most countries without reclassification, MOT compliance and driving license) - its basically an over-scaled, passenger carrying version of a kids high performance RC car. I can't help but laugh how impractical this is in its current form (no doubt more holes to pick into it, but that is the main one for me). If improvements were made, then there's no reason why this can't make this a better vehicle, especially with bigger wheels, better battery system and a gentler acceleration curve.

      djfmitv hahaha I love how you described my toy “over-sized, passenger carrying, version of a kids high performance RC car”... haha... this is exactly what I’m trying to do!!!
      I have to say, this power to weight ratio is impractical in so many ways but it's super fun, scary and “portable”... only 35.2kg when I made this video (watch this: ruclips.net/video/cCP7f2V2R5U/видео.html )
      Yes I'm improving and adding a proper racing motorcycle battery capable if keeping up with this extremely high current and a state of the art battery management system, look up "Batrium".
      My initial idea was to make this a mini electric vehicle all aerodynamic with fairing all over, rolling cage, seat belt blablabla... this hole project is costing soooo much $$$$$$$ so I'm doing it slowly so I don't go broke haha
      Ah... also got front air shocks too... the fun is just beginning ohhh yeaahhh =]

My new pack will give me a much better range but this trike is super Road illegal I'm not sure where I can ride it hahaha

      Sounds like you'll need a new controller if the wires were damaged... just pay attention to your motor model there are few different details you need to ou attention, better remove your controller first so you can see things properly. You'll need some silicone when installing a new one.
      Apart from controller everything else should be fine, possibly a harness depending how bad and where the wires stretched.
      There is a wheel speed sensor extension designed for long cargo bikes but it's about 40/50cm long... you may need few for a recumbent trike or if you're confident soldering wires you can just extend it. Maybe practice in the bad controller first =]
      Yeahh I hope I helped a bit... so much POWEEEEEEERRRR haha

    Believe it or not, the wheel spin is actually a good thing in this application. With tall gearing the controllers would easily over-amp. The wheel spin acts as a clutch reducing the load on the controllers.
    Bruno, I would recommend a steering damper. Above 50mph the steering tends to get very twitchy.
    Also, I would eliminate the circuit breaker. This thing will pull 1,000 amps peak in short bursts.

    • @TheFootbaldd
      @TheFootbaldd 6 лет назад

      When I was looking at circuit breakers for my build, I had a hard time finding DC specs that really suited my needs, so I went with a slow-intermediate time delay fuse and a very short lead out of the battery. I have cells good for 240A continuous, so a 200A fuse with a real world expectation of 180A out of the battery is what I decided based off battery load tests, and thermal performance of the cells. I then use a more conservative setpoint in the controller for current so that I will not pop the fuse unless I have a dead short downstream.
      You could always program a more progressive throttle rate to limit starting torque and initial amp draw on the controllers.
      I wonder if the steering damper is needed for this setup. I have extra wide bars on my ebike, and it feels quite stable at 50+. Maybe with two front wheels it needs extra damping.

    With all of these companies claiming to have the fastest e-bike,I'd pity them if you created a two wheeled version using military grade aluminum!This is 1 sick bike, keep up the good work!BTW,a company called Trifecta has a single side fork and swingarm, problem is it's $25,000!With all of the replies I've read,they're right on the money! If you ever built a two wheeled version, it's on my list!

    If I had a battery that contained 80volts 15ah and I wanted to use two 48volt controllers. low cut off is 41volts and max is 60volts each not sure for the let's say 40amps. One motor one throttle. Would the controllers burn out?

    How are you able to use an ESC which can only handle 160 amps at 280?

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER 7 лет назад +1

      +applefanXXX great question dude... these ESCs can continuously handle 160A... on a bike or motorcycle is a completely different environment, loaded from start (very high current) then as you start moving the load actually decreases, so it's more like 280A massive burst instead, this gives time for the controller to cool... =]

    Hello, I wanted to create an e-bike but I am completely lost!
    Can I use an xt-90S connector instead of a circuit breaker switch with precharge?

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER 5 лет назад +4

      Heeey mate.. let me help you haha..
      The XT90s only works when you’re joining the connectors. Some people think by having an XT90S in line on the battery cable would work as a pre charge but it only works as a pre-charge during that very quick 0.5 -1second as you plug them together.
      There’s a resistor inside the female connector connected to a small ring facing the outer side of the connector. The slower you connect them fully the better. The faster the more chances of getting a small spark inside the connector. The XT90s works well for RC applications but also works well for 60v and 20s 72v (84v max) is the limit for the anti spark to work. Above that voltage, controllers have some serious capacitor banks and you actually need a proper pre-charge solution.
      Circuit breaker is a different story, they act like a resettable fuse. You can kinda get away using a normal 110-240v AC circuit breaker to manage the initial spark.. it works... not ideal but does the job + it’s an additional protection =]

    I need a 300amp relay like that, I found one just like what you have but its only rated up 24v I need 88v

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER 4 года назад +1

      Yeahhh these DC ones are only rated for low voltage 12-24v... my trike is only 12s which is 50.4v max so not too bad but not ideal. Anything higher I wouldn’t use it. You need a proper contactor (a big relay). Look up for Gigavac and Kilovac brands, they can do crazy voltages. I recently fitted one in my trike replacing the 24v, the contactor is rated to 1000v 350A continuous (totally overkill) but they need 12 or 24 or 48v to activate the coil.

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER 7 лет назад +3

      +NikoxD93 yeaahh this is what I'm still trying to figure out... this trike is so low and super lightweight... I spoke to some automotive engineers and chances are that if I extend the rear it could get worse as there will be no weight at the rear... we are taking about making a completely new frame where we can calculate all these forces and possibly make a detachable rear end so we can try different lengths (slightly longer or shorter) and compare results... so much work and money but a lot of fun making this beast hahaa...

  • @332jatc

    if you were to make a bike for a person that can use it mostly and get the most out of it what kind of a motor would you put on it and what kind of wheels and tires and why would you make it more likely like what you working on here or would you be able to stop all the time so the bh1000

  • @chrisduke3251
    @chrisduke3251 7 лет назад

    Had to come back & see this beast again. Such a clean setup with the belt drive!
    I'm wanting to give a 1960's trike (Gote Dune) a rebirth with E-Power. It will need some power to take on sand dunes. Unfortunately I'll have to stay away from belt drive because the sand would tear it up in short order. I'm thinking motorcycle chain & sprockets and a rear differential. Fortunately I'll have more room to work with over the rear dif. POWERRRRR!!!

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER 7 лет назад +1

      Chris Duke hahaaaa don't give up on the belt drive.. make a protection so sand can't get in.. chain + sand = crumbed chain haha will rust badly.. I took my fatbike to the beach few times and my brand new chain aged 10 years haha
      Chain is easier to setup but belt you set and forget, no lube no rust... I want another belt replacing that chain.
      Do u have any photos or videos showing your 60's trike? Make something stupidly POWERFUL and send me a link haha.. so much POWEEEEERRR =]

    • @chrisduke3251
      @chrisduke3251 7 лет назад

      Well, the ATV differential I plan on using is set up for chain. I'll be using a jackshaft with some sort of gearing. Probably only two or three gears, but I think a chain would be easier to do that with. I haven't figured out what to use for gears yet. I won't be using bicycle chain, so it should last a long time. I've had bad times with motorcycle belts in the rough. I can see driving all the way up to Pismo Beach & having a belt break. That would suck.
