I’ve snapped so many driverside axles I lost count. Once you do them so many times you can get pretty good at swapping them out in under an hour, lol. I too am a huge fan of V1’s don’t care what anyone else thinks.
I feel your pain Coop. Ive been putting my Mustang back together for almost a year now. Buying parts here and there, finding stuff used on Facebook marketplace, selling what i dont need to go towards buying what i do need. Im very close now. Should be around 650 RWHP with the possiblilty for hitting 700. Keep in mind I have a 2 Valve 4.6 and not the Coyote so Im starting with a motor that makes sub 250 to the wheels.
I feel your V1 is your unicorn! Can just tell that car has a huge place in your heart. Would be pretty sick if you could bring the v1 up to ksr and let kev work it over
@@paleggett1897 Well, Tom is posting sooner than Cleetus and part 2 just showed up in my recommendations list from Tom's channel.........I'm in the same position now but I'll let Coop finish the story. I felt a little cheated when it showed up on Cleet's channel, since I had seen Tom's version already. Luckily, Cleetus did have a little content that didn't seem to make it in Tom's version. Thanks to Cleetus for introducing me to Tom recently as Tom has some cool videos.
Love to seeing the V1 Again , like visiting a old friend , you know that friend you love to talk to but goes to the restroom when the check comes !!!! Get this running again would love to see it go !!!
I have a 75k mi 05 - Weldcraft widened my rears, powder coated them base w/matte tinted clear, PS4S, Headers, Cam, Intake, Exhaust, UUC short throw, LS7 Clutch & flywheel, Wide wheel trailing arms, CS spherical rear toe rods, wideband o2, Gen IV diff (Gen3 spare) etc... Keep going back and forth about selling it, or keeping it and adding some KWV3's, or FEAL 443s. Not sure I want to go down the blower / diff rabbit hole.
I’ve always loved that body style too. You have a solid foundation under it, just don’t forget about it coop. Always love your opinions and reflections. Thanks man, keep the “bunch” healthy and involved.
That was fun to hear and watch your history. I still have my Dart in the back yard with no real plans to get it going. It needs some wiring fixed and a carb rebuild to drive again but I loved that car and got my license in it. I have a low mileage 06 Charger RT now and even with only 350hp it's the fastest car I've owned. It's just not as unrefined and brutal as the Dart was with the factory 318 with a lot of bolt on tweaks and mods/upgrades to get the most I could out of it for what it was. At least you have a safe place for it to live till you decide to play with it again 👍
It's like being a Virginia and your first time. It's a fond memory but you don't really wanna relive it. It can only disappoint you and spoil the memories
Always wondered about the V1 history, I didn't start watching Cleetus's channel until shortly before you started yours so I didn't see the early days. Thanks for the backstory.
I remember when u finished the build on the v1 and took it for a drive and right as u let cleetus drive it sounded like it threw a rod but the harmonic balancer broke i think
not every car needs to be a race car, i drive an old ford falcon with 100hp and i love driving it ! i totally understand the attachment to a car. dont rush any plans it, things will fall into place when the time is right. maybe a car for bronte when mini bogetti's come around ?
@Max Power If you dont have anything nice to say just move along and leave a dislike. Its a straight through story video with no cuts, no need to diss him over it.
My dad taught me how to work on cars and I’ll never forget when he said, “Car companies spend millions of dollars designing the specs for a car. The minute you modify any part of it, you’re altering its purpose and design. Things will break, don’t get mad, you asked for it”. 🙏
You're right Cooper, she owes you nothing, and she's safe until you're ready brother. Let it sit, you'll get there. The picture of the bright shiny black hood with the blower peeking thru immediately reminded me of the day I cut a hole in a very mint black V1 hood so the blower could peek through... lol I knew you loved that car, I also knew you were real picky about who touched it, "I was a bit shaken" would be an understatment... lol You literally looked like you where getting a tattoo as I hacked through that beautiful paint on that numbers matching aluminum hood with my trusty airsaw. But ya stuck it out and it turned out pretty decent, and certainly was the cherry on top at the time. It's gonna need a 9" when you're ready to go fast though, mounted like the rear in the Galaxy, full custom triangulated 4-link.... just saying. Of course someone will probably have a bolt in system by then so..... Have a great weekend and stay safe my friend.
I think with all the overbuilding you did to the car you should put a 500hp ls and do some track racing with it. It doesnt have to be a drag car and that would give you more content for the channel.
He doesnt have money in his eyes compared to all his friends. Plus I think hes being a little humble. No one would like it if he was like man I have all kinds of money.
Brents son Goofy makes this kid look like a chump. Coop has no mechanical skill he just knows words and people. Soft clean hands. Lazy complainer. Big ego.i hear a fart noise when I see his face
Maybe when you two have a kid or two you can pass the V1 down and it can be a father and son or daughter project. That would be cool content. Old grey haired Coop in 20 years.
I think those cars are great clean daily drivers . As for a race car I wouldn’t make it one unless it’s a max effort build. Keep it the way it is 7-800HP and clean car to take to meets, street pulls that sort of thing. Clean car just to look good in and have fun with.
Do you still have the v1 wagon ? Glad to see you on your own but do miss your voice in cletus's videos much love for you coop keep doing you bother and the best of luck to you You've done better in life then I have lul
Always loved the V1. They aren't really great racecars, but they're so cool. They have that grandma look on the outside with all the fun stuff in the drivetrain. Around here it seems like a lot of them get parted out. Can be hard to find a runner. I think they're awesome cars for just cruising and having fun in, not necessarily racing though.
Jeremy works on the burgundy ctsV that runs well into the 9s. The guy that owns it is a helicopter mechanic, I think. It's a newer Caddy, but I don't think it's bad on axles. See what he uses to get down the track.
But I loved watching your V1, vuz I still had mine at the time so I got some good laughs from similar experiences. You da man Coop, who cares what the rest of the class says...lol luv ya bud, get that 240 going son!
Those things back in the day had a $7,000 gas guzzler tax right on the sticker. I had the pleasure of looking at them when they came off the line. They were definitely a big deal when gm unveiled them
I had a Cadillac V2 2014. Traded 3 Toyota trucks for it. Had it for a few months and ended up blowing the motor. Had the car just sitting in my driveway before I junked it.
Cooper I think you should get a cheap junkyard motor and put your Las set up back on it after the 240 is done plus it would make for some content for your channel
been a long while man since you told one , I was in the army age 17 to 19 in Alaska built a Hemi took every dime I made and more moonlighted 6 months a gas station attended -20 so I could use the shop and make extra, feel ya
Im not really sure what chassis the caddies are. But some companys in australia made an irs 9inch diff for the commodores. Remember reading about them 15 years ago. Maybe from harrop enginering?
In my honest opinion (and its not worth much) i truly believe (and have been saying for a WHILE now) that the 4.10 gearing is what broke the camels back in the V1. i think it would fair FAR BETTER, with more of a stock gearing.
Nothing wrong with budgeting. I have three years in gathering up stuff for my obs build. And four years in gathering up the stuff to straight axle my ranger
As years go by more manufacturers come out with aftermarket parts that are constantly improving street legal cars maybe waiting could save you in long run. For me I modded a 2012 Nissan 2.0 liter that has 200hp with suspension kit good enough for every day driver. Sleeper lol
Be cool to see the V1 back, just as a nicely sorted true street ripper. Not everything has to be an 8 second drag car
I’ve snapped so many driverside axles I lost count. Once you do them so many times you can get pretty good at swapping them out in under an hour, lol. I too am a huge fan of V1’s don’t care what anyone else thinks.
love that car don’t ever let it go! she’ll have her time again when it’s right! never let it go
Make a shirt or some merch we can buy to help fund the V1 we all know you from cleetus vids because of it it deserves a comeback 🔥
Maybe a tombstone themed shirt. Cadillac RIP-V
Revert back to a NA 500whp set up in the V and enjoy it again!

I feel your V1 is your unicorn!

yup
Yea man let KSR screw with it man!!
"Nobody liked to work on it. It constantly broke." Yep. Sounds like a Cadillac.
Cleetus just posted video if him in tom Baileys car but I gotta stay and Finnish Coop's first.👍🤙🤙
Tom’s vid was a few days ago ✌🏽

Build it as a race car for your wife... Just popped into my head watching the video.
You just keep working, we will keep watching and when it is time for the V1 we will enjoy it

Set it to 1.25 x playback speed and Coop talks like a normal person 😅
Holy shit.... I watched the whole video in 1.25 🤣
Thank you that made it so much better
back to normal @ 19:56* that V never went **THAT** fast
hind sight is always 20/20 brother! 😁
Go to 1.75x speed and he sounds like Ben Shapiro
The blower hood cutout was clean as could be.
Car so fast, the vents falling out the dash. Classy.
Love that you are reppin your boy Brent's merch!
I very much enjoyed this video. Keep it up, Cooper...

I'd suggest a breathable cover to avoid humidity building up and fostering mold.
It's like being a Virginia and your first time. It's a fond memory but you don't really wanna relive it. It can only disappoint you and spoil the memories
The time I was a West Virginia I REALLY don't want to relive......
“Virgin”?
I got a v1 and i love it. It is fragile. Got a big cam and stainless works full exhaust sounds amazing.
good choice on the PFI shirt!! cant wait for PSCA tomorra!!

Love the PFI shirt coop. Props on reppin ya boys

The V1 is a unicorn.. hope to see you get onto that project in the near future
The good ol days.
Mind you he’s crying trying to say cleetus didn’t give a fuck and that he never had space or a lift to fix it. #crymeariver
I'm excited for the V1 future. Big axle and to the moon!
Love the v! Being a m6 v2 owner I feel that pain of the love hate, love the car but hate working on it
1.25x speed, then you’re set 👍🏻
2X SPEED FTW
Work awesome thanks

@Max Power Welp that’s unfortunate I really enjoyed the video.
True

Miss the old V1, yes it broke, but it was interesting to see run. Plus it's just a flat out cool car.
still have my V1 bought it in 09 never gonna sell

I’ve been waiting for this car to make a appearance on the channel. We need V1 content!!!
Great video Cooper , Do more videos like this , On the other cars
I think with all the overbuilding you did to the car you should put a 500hp ls and do some track racing with it. It doesnt have to be a drag car and that would give you more content for the channel.
That car used to be very clean coop
Me like that a lot
Looking forward to the day it gets back on the road
The guy is complaining about no money with a flordia mansion with pool climate controlled shop no job and 8 cars with no kids lol
Right? These guys really need to get a clue when they are rich, living lifestyles so many of us dream of having.
He doesnt have money in his eyes compared to all his friends. Plus I think hes being a little humble. No one would like it if he was like man I have all kinds of money.
True about him. $500+ house & no job.

LOL "I did not have a very well pa.... I did not have a lot of money at the time." We know what ya mean my dude
I think Kyle might have been a little stingy with pay checks lol

Miss seeing you with cleet n gang . Hope everything eventually pans out
Did anyone else hear “in the arms of an angel”? Playing as Coop showed it under its cover?
Would love to hear more stores of the cleeter days!
just street it again, always loved the look of the v1!

Yep, all the power off the line hurts multiple things, but Toque management stops/lessens the issue.
Cadillac, the one and only water cooled alternator.
God bless you for crawling through their crap
They’re about 27k from what I can find on autotempest. There are a few manuals available. And YES they have gone up. I used to see them around 18k.
Interesting back story, thanks Coop.
Those Cadillacs are among my favorite cars of the 2000's
in the future that'll be a classic you gotta keep it
Don't tell old man cleetus that I clicked your video first
Oh you want another V1? I might have a red ‘05 in north AL for sale soon 👀
What can you tell us about it? I am looking for a good one as well
Turn it into an 11 second auto for Bronte to practice her racing skills
i def sat here at 3 in the morning listening to the whole story worth it
Hey coop. Ever thought about doing half mile racing with it? Could be a fun build. 200mph v1 has a good ring to it
Bro it’s been a rough ride with the v1 but a freakin good ride!!!
My V1 is a daily. It was never meant to be a drag car or even a track car. But I would like to auto cross it just for some fun.

Bring it back as a daily 👍
Cooper thank you for showing part of your life and passion! Your doing awesome job!
Build the V1 back and let Bronte start racing!!! Would be a great car for her to start in!!
In my opinion the v1 would make a nice street car, solid axle swap and then keep it in the mid to high 10s
My god I just love that v1 man 🔥❤️❤️I’ll be waiting .. I don’t care if it takes years but I’ll be waiting for that V to come alive ❤️🔥👌

Hell yeah brother !! Don't forget it won the burnout contest in front of the OG house Cooper !! #chevypower
Cooper and a V1 is just right! Reason I got mine!
Cool Beans ! thanks for sharing.
My question is when are you in Garrett going to do another video together
Please do something with it soon. Car looks better than the 240 and will definitely perform better. Just swap the 240 project to the V1 project

Hell yeah brother my ex had one n it was 6 speed. Older generation
The number of times he said IRS before I finally realized he's meaning independent rear suspension.
Got tax problems?😤
Would make for a sweet burnout car, or a drag car bronte
Turn it into a tortoise shack.

My man coop got bill dog jaws!! What’s the bite force on this man?? Love the story time man. Keep it up. :)
“Doesn’t have a lot of money still, has an 80k Denali, 20k engine in the Camaro, wife just got a brand new car “ 😂 funny no money
Think big man. Those are really nice things but he worked hard for those things. It’s not like he just has 100k’s laying around ya feel lol 😂
With a slipper clutch you have a better chance of not breaking axles. It helped Leroy a lot.
Or a taller bias ply and seat time.
