Your videos are actually pretty high quality and well informed, its kinda criminal that you only have 62 subs. Im sure you'll build up an audience in no time.
Thank you so much! Wow that means a lot! This a new channel for me! I have a separate RUclips channel that is non music related called @sergethepurge9425 that has 3k subs. You could say I understand how to make high quality vids 😉😎 but seriously thank you so much that means a lot. Teaching is my passion.
Impressive playing and great technique, but I wanted to clarify that economy picking doesn't utilise a hammer-on to sound the third note in the pattern. It should be played (when ascending patterns of three) down up down, down up down, down up down. The third note in the pattern is played with a down stroke, as is the first note in the pattern. So you transition from string to string with one down-stroke motion, in a manner of speaking. This is not to say that your method isn't viable, as you're achieving brilliant results.
Hey, I just want to say thank you for this comment. After doing some research and talking to a few other musician I know, they have confirmed that you are correct and my definition is convoluted. I was unaware that my definition was different than the actual definition of economy picking, and that what I am presenting in this video is more of a form of what one might call Partial picking. Essentially the pic strokes are the same except I am neglecting to pick the last note of the phrase and I believe the descending portion of the pattern would be different with the way you’re describing it if I’m not mistaken. Although now that you mention this, I am going to make a follow up video, addressing this mistake and demonstrate the true definition of economy, thinking as it is a single pick stroke difference, it turns . out, but a different sound for sure versus even what I am doing. Thank you for the clarification. I really appreciate it and hope I have earned your subscription nonetheless.
@@sergedroban Hey man, thanks for being so receptive towards my feedback! I hope it didn't come across as nit-picky. Regarding the technique for descending using economy picking. The method for strict economy picking would be to use an upward pick slant angle and start the pattern instead on an up-stroke and apply the picking pattern of, up down up, up down up, up down up. However, the way you demonstrated the descending technique is actually how Yngwie does it, using pull-offs. Which is to facilitate a consistent downward pick slant. I hope that all makes some sense? I'd love to see a follow up video on this, really appreciate your dedication, your videos are great! (Gained a sub)
@ thank you so much. That makes sense actually! That’s how I learned the technique was Yngwie’s solos so I just assumed he was economy pick but I guess he’s doing a hybrid of that and more gypsy picking like Django with the focus to keep the downward slant. I appreciate the feedback on this very much. Thank you.
Just spend 10 bucks and buy a fret wrap, or no money and put some foam or cloth between your string and headstock. You don't need an entire toga to deaden your string noise.

Hahahahah I do agree. It’s just what I had at that moment.
Just use a small strip of masking tape, Then you have access to first frets, It's a old studio trick.great
