What you guys are doing is FAR from a puppy mill. You clearly have put time, money, effort, and most importantly love into your puppies. I am expecting our first litter of frenchies around the 9th of February and cant wait! I'd love to work with you on bettering the breed and creating beautiful puppies. I am a few hours away in Salina,ks. Can't wait for the next video!

Every video shows how much you care about the process of breeding correctly. Puppy mills do not do c sections and this man will tell you a c section is the best way to deliver safety. look how well fed all these puppies are.

Thank you. I enjoy ur videos. I'm new to this but I have just done this. Co owners the only thing that I do different is that they get no puppies but will keep the dog forever.i have 6 girls out there and I have 4 females myself. I feel as a breeder we can't provide the best when you have to many dogs.

I did thid before and I lost my dog. people move and change phone numbers. I'm now rebooting my breeding program. I do breed Bichon!! I love them I believe that they should never be in barn on a puppy mill. I have 3 girls and my mom keep the boy.

Excelent I just do the same with my brother I pay for the puppy and bring to him to take care of her and split the expences and profit later (I do all the AI process) glad to do ir just fine :)

James, This video came just in time. This is something I have been thinking of doing and have been back and forth whether this is a good fit for me. Do you think it is fair to ask the families to be responsible for a food bill if you are wanting to puppy/dog on a specific diet - ex a RAW diet? Or if in your contract you put that the family will be responsible to take the dog for board and training? For that time when the dog is pregnant, I would like for the dog to be obedient and well behaved. Do you think this is an unrealistic ask from a breeder to a family that will be apart of a co-ownership agreement?
You said you do 2 to 1 for the compensation for the puppies. I’m just curious how you would split their profits if there were only 2 pups or even 4?

In my opinion it seems James would get around 80% of profits. While the family who has the dog would get 20%. So if you get 2 pups and sell them together for $10,000. James would get about 8k and they get 2k. OR something along those lines, depending on prices and how much you sell, so on... it really would all depend on you and how you want to set it up. Either way the family would be getting a free dog for the rest of their lives and some money down the road. While he gets a beautiful liter, nice profit, and knowing the dog is going to her forever home. 😄

I volunteer! I’m being mentored by my female EBs breeder. I’m certain he would give me a glowing professional reference. I just want to name the dog and take 2nd pick of the first litter with full breeding rights for my own program. You can keep all the puppies/proceeds from any litters on the co-own after that. Extremely interested in fluffies and isabellas. Do you have an application for this? Would you want me to call you to discuss the possibility?
I had a contract with a boxer puppy she was to stay in both ownership. Long and short of it the bitch was given to the owner of the stud as well as a stud fee.. They would show her, and later down the line I might want a puppy.. No, didn't work out that way, first complaint was it was too expensive to enter shows in joint ownership. I made fundamental mistake of taking my name off paperwork because I trusted them. Now 4 years later yes she is champion whose just had a litter I wasn't informed about..(Found out on fb)
No pup, no dog. I can hand on my heart say I would NEVER do this again. Or at least get the contract in with a lawyer as back up. I would endorse the dog etc I am happy it worked out for you..I did this before so it wasn't new, I got a pup back and the bitch was kept by the partner. Here is the thing James I have her full sister I didn't want a pup from this mating. I didn't have that choice..I trust the universe to have my back. I love your videos they are so helpful even to long standing breeders like myself. Happy New Year James from Northern Ireland.

very interesting method...the only problem I see is to get people that have never whelped to successfully whelp your litter...any thoughts would greatly be appreciated
I personally keep the mom and puppies till whelping. I find most ppl just want a great dog and dont want to deal with puppies. This so far has worked nice so far.
