I noticed you doing something I’ve done since the original m&b days, what I call “swimming”. When I jostle my mouse rapidly from right to left I swear I move faster through crowded groups of troops. It feels faster but I don’t have the numbers to prove it
Not as good as commanding your infantry to hug the gate and climbing the ladder yourself before the infantry get to the wall then making your way through the inside to the gates and opening them from within. (Tip: if the infantry reach the wall before you’re off the ladder jump to the side near the top to land on the railing safely. Recommend the athletics perk that reduces fall damage since jumping off to the inside from the wall is a good way to escape enemy infantry.)
I have seen that tactic pulled off by others, but I haven’t managed it myself. Every time I get to the gate there are 15-20 infantry bracing it and I get myself knocked out! I can only make videos on things I can actually do myself 😊
Thanks for subscribing I appreciate that. I am currently doing an Aserai Only playthrough on my other channel Knightly Plays. Just getting to the point of becoming a vassal and getting involved in the bigger battles so anything interesting I will highlight 😊
Thank you so much, Its my first Aserai only playthrough so it will be interesting to see how their troops measure up against some of the kindoms with better troops.
My pleasure. If you had time before the siege you can scoop up 100 - 150 Highborn Youth from the Battanians drop those in the garrison once you have taken the castle / town they are great for castle / town defense.
With you mentioning the bug where you could not assign your companion to a role when calling back. The fix for this is to put your companion in a town, it can be any town you dont even have to own it, then speak to them with dialog to get them back in your party (dont choose the option "Take to party"), actually speak to them first. This seems to fix it each time it happens. Rather annoying.
Your infantry split into 2 groups at the start because, in sieges, the AI takes control of the units by default. And when it did, it decided to split them up into 2 groups (one for each ladder group). You can see some units going to the side at the start
Yes of coarse this is the link ruclips.net/video/GrRKbTIUQzA/видео.html if you cant use that just look up “Knightly Plays” same profile picture but blue. Currently doing an Aserai only play through no smithing and everything has to be Aserai, companions, family and troops. This video was taken from an infantry only play through I did with Sturgia as a test for my next challenge video.
For that surgeon bug you mentioned I have talked to them in conversation(I think from the clan page) and assigned them to the "new role" and their stats take effect but the icon picture shows blank. Hope that helps
Its a good workaround thank you. I normally drop them off in a town / castle then leave re-enter and you get the prompt there is a clan member there. I think at this point that bug has been there so long they are never going to fix it!
finally started playing this again. first time since full release. i deleted all my old saves. i wandered around while trying to figure out how i wanted to play this time. i always go archer army, build. i wanted to try something different. glad to see the sturgian route can work. i think i try that for a change of pace on the battle field.
I did a full campaign of Sturgian Infantry only. No archers or cavalry. With the right captains with the right perks they were unstoppable. I may re-do the campaign on my other channel knightly plays that's where I do my longer play through videos. On another note, welcome back to the game!
I had a theory about focusing on the flank of sieges. I have only just started to join in on Sieges so I have never really been in the position to confirm or deny it. Great video, very informative.
If you get the engineering perk where you start with a ballista already built you get to shoot that at them too before you send your men in and unlike the catapults it has unlimited ammo!
I love this strategy!
Thanks, super effective against armies that have good archers and poor melee like the Khuzait. Once you have breached the wall its over for them.

Same! I have no idea if its actually better it just makes me feel like it 😂

Brilliant!
Thanks :-)
This strategy WORKS. Earned a sub from me.
Would love to hear your input for big army vs army battles.

@@KnightlyGuides-yy8xl Subscribed there as well. I'll be keeping an eye out for the tips ;)
Keep up the good work!

Good shout, thank you!
Love this strategy!!
It's quick and simple but it works!
Is there a place to watch this current playthrough that you mentioned?

Seems pretty good, gonna have to try this out at some point!
Worked like a charm for me. I was however doing a Sturgian Infantry only playthrough so my infantry were very strong.
