    Welcome back! I am the total and complete idiot in your comment section for not recognizing your low iron symptoms! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ I am Queen of Low Iron, uhhh not officially announced, but I have had 4 iron infusions at various times over the last 10 years? In my defense I never notice it in myself either in spite of having been through it so many times, it still manages to sneak up on me! You will make excuses for low iron for a long time, oh I just had a long day, oh I swam today, oh whatever, until the day you go, oh yeah, low iron, why didn’t I remember that? BUT your ability to think is also affected so always consider that. It is usually other people in my family that catch it in me before I do? Anyway, listen if you find that your supplements are not making you feel considerably better in the time the doctor gave you, go back, test again and if they way are still low ask your doctor about an iron infusion. My doctor explained it this way, you reach a point that you are so deficient in iron that supplements and food cannot bring you up and out of it. An infusion will do that for you and the supplements will help you maintain it. I try to explain low iron to people and they think I am crazy but it is a tired that isn’t really explained by the word tired or exhausted. It is worse than even that, it reaches the inability to function. And that is a real thing, I went to the doc one time, I tell him I am so tired I can hardly think, we run tests, I went back to work, got a call from the doc and he said, Terri don’t panic but I need to talk to your boss, your iron is so low that I need you to go home now, I need you to wait to hear from me, I am scheduling you for an emergency iron infusion in 2 days but you shouldn’t even be driving a car, let me talk to your boss. So I did and went home and waited. As I thought about this he was right, I was not my normal self even driving, my ability to make those kinds of quick decisions was impaired. I literally slept for 2 days, got my iron infusion (my parents came to Dallas to drive me), he wanted me to take one more day off and that next day I went to work I felt like a million bucks! I wanted to run 2 miles and do all of the things. The difference in how I felt after that infusion was startling. The way I could think was amazing. So if you are still struggling PLEASE ask for an infusion. 🙏 Not to tell you what to do but from someone experienced in this, your ability to think will affect the decisions you make, or really not able to make. 💕

      I really appreciate this! I’m going to give the supplements a month or so (along with being more intentional in my diet) and then have lab work done again.
      Even as a kid, I’ve always had low iron, so I’m not surprised that has been one of the issues. (It’s just a crappy reminder that I have to do better as I’m getting older with vitamins and supplements 😭)

      @@KnitPlanJess yes the realizations of getting older is a thing that has its own unique circumstances. This is a topic of discussion with my therapist for real. I am 57 but I don’t mentally feel 57 although my body often acts up and I gotta go through our lovely medical system to get them resolved. People treat me like I am 57 and honestly that bothers me the most. Which sounds dumb but it is really a thing. My mother is 85 and I am not sure if she fakes it or if she is at peace with it? I honestly think she is at peace with it which I don’t think I will ever be, we are two totally different people when it comes to personality and every other single thing in this life. I REALLY wanted the A5 Hobonichi cover that says, “Only is not lonely.” I try to live by that as if it is a mantra. It is better than finding the wrong person, having drama, and feeling like I am stuck with them. There is a cheery thought? 😂 I kinda like my “Only” it frees me up for the important things in life like my daughter and granddaughter. Hang in there and stay on top of this please! 🙏 it will really get better one way or the other. Because I know where you have been with that low iron and it is so difficult I never can find the words to describe how it makes you feel. Sending you much comfort! Here is a hug. 🤗 Even though hugging people in real life is not really my thing? 😂
