My name is Dayton and I'm an airsoft sniper from BC Canada. Ever since I started airsoft I've been addicted to the long range game. that's why I play as a sniper. I have some knowledge of CQB and urban play but if you see me out in the field, chances are I'm out there with my Tokyo Marui VSR10 and MK23.

This reminds me of a cycling trip with my mom and sister. The fields were harvested and the square haybales were stacked and had a small smokeplume. My mom went back to the nearest houses and in no time there was a small fire, by the time the fire department was there most of the top was on fire. I was surprised how fast it went from a small smokeplume to a raging fire.

hey house that small truck you had at 3:52 that would be perfect for something like a little 100 gallon water tank on it with a little HONDA GX160 firefighting pump with you know like 160foot hose reel on the back incase something like this happens again (ive been a Wildlands Firefighter for 11 years in New Zealand) it would be perfect for an airsoft field like yours and it would also help in the future incase of any small vegetation fires as well and not only that it would also give your local fire bridge a fighting chance incase of a wind change or a strong gust

    Howzit House Gamers Airsoft,
Just wanted to commend you & the other players on the calm and rapid response to slow and eventually stop the spread of the fire (as well as preventing any damage to the electical power lines and structures).
For future reference, I would recommend that your field may look at doing the following:
Having a homebuilt skid unit (one that can quickly be slipped onto that vehicle that drove through half way through the video or onto a Bakkie (or Truck as its known in the US & Canada). This can be done by having a 500L or 1000L water tote on a small support system, where you also have a small commerical water pump (with atleast a 30m vertical reach), rubber fire hose (like those on hosereels) and an adjustable nozzle (also found on the hosereels).
Some more budget friendly options are:
    1. Making your own Fire Beaters, simply take pieces of conveyor belt (a square shape, and cut 2 equi-distant flaps), and U-Bolt it onto a wooden pole or cross-t it onto an aluminum pole.
Also, you can buy old fire hose from your local station, cut into equi-lenghts, and tape/fasten together.
    2. Rakes (metal ones) or Forestry Rakes (also known as Macloeds), Shovels, Pulaskis etc... and just remove the fuel from the path of the fire.
    3. Backpack sprayers with hand pumps, you can upgrade the wands to allow for better water flow etc... or keep them as is.
    4. Stamping out the fires like you were doing always works as well too.
But of course, the best solution is always education and prevention, hold a quick brief pre-game on fire safety and the processes should a fire occur.
Also work with your local department, and burn fire breaks in specific areas, so that if a fire does break out, it won't be able to spread out of those bounds (typically by property lines/fences and buildings, and try and link it up to roads etc..) and of course by burning yearly rotational fire breaks, nee vegetation will grow with in the area allowing for some sick new spots, and a constantly changing field!
Feel free to contact me if you require any further assistance or information.
    Regards,
    Jonathan Claude Hardcastle

    Future knowledge:
Get soaking wet bath towels to slap the fire down. (Instead of feet.)
Extinguishers used near electric pole is a good idea.
Watch where the wind blows, see if any embers jump the road or open area to more fuel.
    Other than that, good job.
I did this very same thing out near our cabin once during a dry summer. We shot off small fireworks to keep them from going far, but we decided to shoot off some "glowing parachutes" and one of these started a fire. We had it down to the final embers before the volunteer fire unit arrived. We kept it from expanding just like you boys did.

Just off the top of my head if you ever find yourself in a similar situation, as was mentioned a fire break might have helped. Not knowing what resources were available at the location, just going off of what appeared in the video, dragging something large through the dirt behind a vehicle might have worked. Doing a long burnout to tear up the ground might have worked. Etc. Glad nobody got hurt or lost anything important.

    Just a tip
in grass/woodland fires Avoid dry powder extinguisher uses CO2 foam and water they'll have a blanket uses on the fire but powder will just extinguisher the flame then the heat will reignite it so if this every happens to you WATER AND Foam are your friends

  • @BEARDELIVERS
    @BEARDELIVERS Год назад

You guys got really lucky there; good move trying to protect the area around the pole. Personally I would have let the rest go as the roads on the top and bottom of that section along with the the dirt lot to the would have acted as breaks the real danger was the area beyond the pole even with the road acting as a brake on side 4 protecting that structure having the pole catch and dropping the power lines can spread the fire beyond the break and make the area even more dangerous for you guys.
Either way great stop; and with all the dead vegetation there I would recommend a 750 gallon trailer mounted tank and a semi-thrash pump with a forestry line & nozzle be kept on hand. Fairly cheap to set up and will help in the future; also see if your local department will work with you guys with some brush fire training to have a team prepared in the future.

I’m gonna suggest that the cause of the fire was the T-55s ESS I’m assuming it was in given the amount of smoke. To create a smoke screen tanks squirt diesel onto the hot exhaust creating smoke if left on too long the built up fuel can ignite for a brief time.

The best thing you could’ve done in this situation is first call the fire department and second started digging and destroying all the brush in a perimeter around it. Good work with the fire extinguishers. Try not to breath that shit in though. The way a fire extinguisher works is it deprives the fire of oxygen.
