I noticed he said that but it doesn't add up because the PBC sent Bud a revised contract in October to fight in 2023. It seems Spence thought it was gonna happen, but Al Haymon is making all the decisions. If you listen to both Bud and Spence, both thought their fight would be this year. Al wants the Thurman fight first, then most likely give Spence the Bud fight or make Spence move up. They need to fight to see who's at the top but most importantly get their biggest payday.

He also said Al Haymon told him his mom is sick and kept delaying getting back to him, he said he had 2 attorneys work on this fight. He said he agreed to everything. Both fighters knew they would need time to promote this fight. Bud said he didn't get word back from PBC until he made his move to take another fight. Even Bob Arum said he knew Bud was going to take another fight. They are like a fraternity, the word gets out to the promoters. If Bud didnt take another fight there will still be no fight this year between the 2. It's fair to say that if the revised contract offered a fight in 2023, there should be nothing wrong with Bud fighting someone else in 2022, so long as they can still fight in 2023. Both things can be true. Just like Bud originally said he agreed to the contract. They started negotiations before August. Bud said he agreed. Team Spence thought they were gonna finalize a deal so they were ready to prepare for that fight. However, Bud had another fight In his back pocket. Bud strung them along so they had to revise the contract and push the fight back to the beginning of 2023. Then Bud let everybody know he agreed to the other fight. Team Spence had to redirect. I’m sure Al wants Thurman, just like Bud wanted who he fought, while Spence wanted Crawford and thought he had him. If Bud would’ve truly had his mind made up on Spence and agreed like he said, Al would’ve made that fight for Errol.

He also said Al Haymon told him his mom is sick and kept delaying getting back to him, he said he had 2 attorneys work on this fight. He said he agreed to everything. Both fighters knew they would need time to promote this fight. Bud said he didn't get word back from PBC until he made his move to take another fight. Even Bob Arum said he knew Bud was going to take another fight. They are like a fraternity, the word gets out to the promoters. If Bud didnt take another fight there will still be no fight this year between the 2. It's fair to say that if the revised contract offered a fight in 2023, there should be nothing wrong with Bud fighting someone else in 2022, so long as they can still fight in 2023. It seems like damage control by the PBC, and to say how it played out ruined the fight in 2022 which wasn't going to happen anyway is disingenuous. Damn that was lengthy..lol.
