    So I’m watching and my heart hurts as I struggle with fibroids. I’m 39 about to be 40 and I have no kids yet. I had an ectopic pregnancy when I was younger along with 2 miscarriages so I only had one Fallopian tube which make pregnancy twice as hard. In 2015/16 I had to get a myomectomy as the bleeding was crazy not to mention the pain was unbearable. That’s helped a lot with the pain and bleeding However only now to find out my one single tube is now blocked 😔. I was like why me ..... I cried for days and was so depressed. Fast forward to 2019 to find out that after taking out 10 fibroids they grew back and what was left grew bigger. Now I got a partner wanting kids and idk how to explain all this so now I’m trying to figure out how to have kids ...... it’s a rollercoaster of emotions and I’m praying that God sees it fit to grant me a child cause I really want to be a mom. I’m praying for you that your dreams to a mom comes to reality 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

    I have been where you are. I had two myomectomies. I had several large fibroids and have endometriosis and I did IUI before I had the second myomectomy not knowing that something was wrong with my left tube. After my second myomectomy where the removed the tube, I waited 6 months and did IVF at 38. I have a 5 year old now as a SMBC. I wish you all the best.

    Thanks so much for sharing your story, I completely know how you feel! I had my myomectomy at 24 which is really young. They removed 10 fibroids, the biggest one being 11cm. I always had really, REALLY painful cramps in school and throughout Uni, thinking that was normal. But when I tell you, my cramps and period flow post surgery vs the one I used to have.... it is like night and day. Wish I had done it earlier. All the best for your way to motherhood, sending you positivity and success in your journey.

    That lighting tho!!! U look fabulous! My mother in law had fibroids. She had the procedure to have them removed before she got pregnant with my husband. She was able to get pregnant, she didn’t wait a year.. don’t think they had that rule back then. She had some pain at the end of her pregnancy because she had some grow in and around the uterus while she was pregnant with him. She carried him to term and he was born healthy! My old bosses wife had them removed got pregnant had them removed again and had another baby. There is hope girl! You will be an amazing Mama. 😍

    I won't go into my fibroid story here but since you're going into surgery, I will share two things that really helped my recovery. If you can, get an elevated toilet seat - trust me, it will make life easier. Also ask your doctor/hospital to get you an abdominal binder (what they give women after childbirth or even a girdle). The binding really helped me feel secure since my organs shifted a bit during surgery and it helped keep things in place as I was recovering. Sending prayers to guide your surgeons hands. Also praying that you have no complications and that you recover quickly

      It's your life, no one else's, so do what makes YOU happy. God bless.
      That question about "telling a child about where they come from" is not a question my mind ever conceived tbh. That's an interesting one. 🤔 I could be wrong, but maybe the truth is the best option. I know it's a definite non equalvelant, but I never appreciated my parents lying to me about the existence of Santa Clause 😅 often times people underestimate a child's capacity to process and deal. Children are amazing.

      @@someblaqguy yes you are right. I guess maybe I just get to thinking about things out of control like how others would treat "my child" in a non conventional family. I wouldn't want them to go through any undue teasing or bullying that would potentially fuck them up 😅

    It is best to take them all out. They opened me up to take them all out. People who have c-sections and still have to look after babies, i salute you. I couldn't do anything!

    • @Angel-hm9so
      @Angel-hm9so 3 года назад +1

      The only reason we still take care of babies after cutting them out is because the maternal urge to keep your kid alive is stronger than our need to take care of ourselves. Pain killers help. What makes it worse is that the cut open organ is also shrinking. Oy. My only advice to first time c-section mamas is to say yes to all the help you are offered. It doesn't last long, but its a rough start.

    • @elizahaynes5916
      @elizahaynes5916 3 года назад

      @@Angel-hm9so I completely agree and understand. i just didn't think it would be that bad because I've had a surgery before and i see these mommas doing their thing after their babies are born... i couldn't dress myself, bathe myself without help.. thank God for my mum. but it is good prep because once I do have children, i will have to have a c-section, so it was very much a learning experience and mum will be moving in! lol

    I'm so happy for you and I hope all goes well. I do have a fibroid. It was discovered when I was pregnant 7 years ago. Fast forward to now I'm 39 and pregnant with my second child. So now my fibroid has calcified but it is 2cm and does not interfere with my pregnancy. My mother did suffer from fibroids. She had 3 big ones that were painful and big. It made her look pregnant. She did have my youngest sister with them. They became unbearable and in her 40's and she got a hysterectomy. Which put her in early menopause and she developed osteoporosis. I often wonder if they really needed to go the hysterectomy route. Once again good luck and I'll be watching. 😊

    Just throwing it out there. But if you have a 401k you can borrow from that and pay yourself back instead of taking out a loan. Be your own bank. Of course if this doesn't apply/work for you then disregard. If you decide to sell your stocks again pay yourself back its the same thing and you can still save towards your retirement. I hope this helps.

    I only have 1 fibroid that I know of, they found it in my first pregnancy. It’s about 3cm and at the top of my uterus so it didn’t affect any of my pregnancies thankfully. I had my 3rd child in October and I asked them to remove it because I was having a scheduled c-section and I’m convinced that’s why I have heavy, painful periods now. (I used to not!) But they said they can’t do it during a c-section because I would loose too much blood. Very frustrating as I was already being cut open. I just hope I don’t get more or it doesn’t worsen because I’m hoping to never need surgery on my uterus again. Good luck with your surgery. Regardless of your parenthood journey you deserve some relief!

    A possibility could be to start banking your eggs after the myomectomy and not wait for one year to start. After one year you could then use your frozen eggs for IVF.

    Can you get a personal loan for the treatment? It's not ideal, but people borrow $50,000 for college, cars, or cosmetic surgery, so $16,000 for IVF seems reasonable and an important investment for your future.

    I'm so sorry....all of this is so emotionally taxing. F*ck fibroids. Really. I watched your previous video as well. I've read some articles that link Vitamin D deficiency to fibroids which may be why so many black women suffer with this. I really hate that the Mirena didn't work for you. I have 3 fibroids and it took 2 years for my periods to stop altogether. I think that your original doctor was trash. Everything that I read has said that it takes 6 months, so the fact that he told you 3 months is bull.
    I know that you have already met with your doctor, but have you researched Uterine Fibroid Embolization? It's an outpatient procedure that pumps small particles into the arteries that connect your fibroids to your uterus. It cuts the blood supply to the fibroids and starves it and causes it to "die". I'm not a doctor and I don't know if this procedure would be appropriate for you, but it's something to look into.
    Best of luck to you.
