Russel made a quite valid point that in recently ended LPL, Kandy Falcons didn’t give a proper chance to under 23 players at all. Specially that so called captain had given the chance to his own brother (who is not even a candidate to play for Sri Lanka in international matches) over a proper under 23 batsman (Pavan Rathnayake). This under 23 player was used just for the sake of adopting the tournament’s rule. I mean, who is this captain going to make fool of here?
Mr Buyakash, since you closely work with these people hope you have a backbone to ask these sort of questions from them. Otherwise having these sort of discussions and throwing questions to experts will not have any effect on SL male’s cricket future.
Exactly on the point. It was really surprising why even Chathuranga de Silva got selected. I saw that he is playing Legends cricket even which means he is officially retired from international cricket. Even in his peak days he was not in the world class calibre. LPL did not select players like Pathum Nishshanka, Kusal Perera as a first option. Instead select these old players like Chathuranga de Silva , Dimuth Karunarathne etc. No one can even judge the logic behind 😢😢

Theekshana and Dasun are not in form, wanindu is a brainless player, he is not playing for the team and he is not economical, why can’t we play without them and try out some other players, give some chances to Chamidu. Just check how many full toss deliveries bowled by Theekshana in last 20 games, personally I feel wanindu is not useful against the top playing countries. I think SLC needs to do sessions for teaching players how to think in different situations. Players should be penalized for playing such kind of shots like in school days lol and pay them based on their winning percentage. So they have to win to make their living. Our players are not confident with their talents so they can't wait till the correct time to hit and they hesitate to play shots, even they play they just play the shot and not trying to place it in the gap. Don't fix the team with same 5 or 6 players when they are failing, just give chances to others who knows it might work, just look at the Indian side, they fit the team to win matches with in form players. If we can’t give them the cricket brains like Mahela and Sanga we can’t win, skill without a brain is useless.

On the contrary men's team is really disappointing. Winning and loosing is part of the game. However this inconsistent performances after Mahela and Sanga retired, is not acceptable. Also giving chances to players who have been inconsistent for years is unwarranted and unjustifiable. I really don't know what the management is doing. Why not just restructure the team and give chances to new players? Cricket is a brand in Sri Lanka. And people love it. And unfortunately the respect, love for cricket team is evading. As a responsible organization SL cricket board should seriously take hard decisions and sort this out. Otherwise it will cause irreversible damages to our brand of cricket. Really feel sad for the state of cricket now and we had such a good players like aravinda muralidaran Mahela Sanga Dilshan. Now it's just puppets.
