I heard Bill using an E-bow while sitting outside of the Celebrity Theater in Phx., Az in 77'(?). I had bought the ticket for BBD, he was doing a sound check. I sat down on the steps and was in dreamland for about 10 minutes. HE WENT OFF!! The show was extremely well done. that night.

When people ask me who my favorite guitarist of all time is I tell them that I have two: Bill Nelson and Phil Keaggy. I cringe when the response comes back of, "Who's Bill Nelson?" It is then that I get to tell them of all the MAGNIFICENT music that he has made over the years. He is an amazing musician...

Wow, Phil Keaggy. Haven’t heard that name in many years. Being from NE Ohio, I remember Phil’s group from the 70’s, Glass Harp very, very well and actually saw them live once as the opening act for Canned Heat. Unfortunately, I’ve heard very little from him since then, but what I have heard was still impressive.

I knew someone who worked for a radio station and he had requested something else for me from the record company (CBS?), but they sent this by mistake. Well, I was happy they got the request wrong, because I love this album and may never have heard of Bill Nelson otherwise.

I'm not familiar with this album though I do recognize one song, must be on another album of his. This album is odd and pretty funky. It sounded like Bowie and Prince in places, but also something else. I looked up who played on it and saw that Dick Morrisey played sax and that clicked this thought into my head. This album came out a few years after Numan's Warriors album. I wonder if Nelson used ideas that Numan rejected. Just a thought.

@prokesuk I think you’ll find that BIll Nelson had moved musically into electronica way before Numan came along. Numan admits he couldn’t play electronic instruments when he started out on this road. Numan followed Bill and it’s clear he got his inspiration from Bill, hence why he wanted Bill to produce and mix his album.

Most interesting description of an upload I ever read, and thank you for both the music and the read. And, at the risk of contradicting myself, goddamn all religion to Hell. Btw, word on the blogosphere is that Jesus Christ has been fired from his position as Son of God and been replaced by Phil Lynott, the late singer of Thin Lizzy. It is not our place to question why. But pass it on. If we don't treat Phil Lynott, who died for His own sins, with proper reverence, that bloodthirsty, maniacal, invisible sky wizard we grovel before will have another hissy fit and drown us all again. I actually like Think Lizzy. They're way more exciting than Jesus ever was.
