incredible weaseling with Gandhi, very well played, what a pleasure to watch such a great colonization game (rip Suez). Congrats to your performance so far, looking good :)
Nice game! At 56:15 you mentioned that you forgot to take a screenshot of the military cards before the reshuffle. But if needed you just can replay the game at any point to see what cards you have had in your hand, can't you?
Yes, you are right, the information wasn´t completely lost, I didn´t think about that during the video. Still it would have been a lot easier to take the screenshot than to regain the information by looking through the replay.
Was it a consideration at 48:30 to take Rev Idea over the coal upgrade? With Suez you don't really need the mine upgrades, but you are quite low on science - Rev Idea could bridge the path to Cannons + age III government quite well
Yes, taking Rev Idea is something to consider instead of the coal upgrade, especially because I would also deny it from Genghisip. In case I get Suez, the second coal is maybe indeed not that important, though I think it is still nice to have. However, as we have seen in the game, it is not a given that I will get the Suez and with me not having drawn a lot of strong age II colonies, I had already the feeling, that Himmelstosh might be willing to go for a denial, especially after he has already done some denials in some of the other games. I think if I get Suez at the end, taking Rev Idea could be slightly better than going for the coal upgrade, but if I miss out on Suez, I like the coal upgrade a lot more, because the 4 science of the rev idea costs me 2 CA and 2 resources, which I think is not that great of a deal then, especially with being on only 5 CA (though I will get the 2 additional ones from Eleanor still).
@@weidenbaumtta2889 agree, I think at that point its a matter of what you want to optimize towards. You have a perfect setup for leaderswap + Suez, so overall Rev Idea should be stronger in that setup (= higher ceiling), while getting the coal upgrade is probably unnecessary in the Suez-scenario, but quite vital in the deny-scenario (= higher floor), so it probably requires a judgement call on how much risk you have to take here. Seeing as you won, you probably took the right decision ;)
You should put the name of the game in the video title. The algorithm served me this video and as someone unfamiliar with your channel & content it was just ????????
Thanks for your suggestion. I have the name of the game in the description and mention it at the start of the video, but will think about if I will add it to the title.

Still watching. In the turn where you elect Eleanor, why not just the extra political action from Caesar to cancel the open borders agreement? You saw Himmelstosh take the great wall already, and you only seeded one card. Also with the monarchy the extra red cube isn't totally needed. And finally (and least), also gives you a little more culture with Eleanor since you have to discard one more card.
As you keep watching I think you'll see that having a 4th military action in age II was extremely good for Weidenbaum; he could draw 3 cards while rebuilding units and keep a high value 4th card in hand every turn. With so many extra card draws and a large colonization advantage, the ability to keep an extra bonus card in hand essentially nullified the downside of the pact.
Yes, I think tmoiynmwg´s comment covered already some good points. I think even with the potential danger of Himmelstosh having Great Wall, the 4th MA still is very useful for myself, allowing me to keep more cards in hand, and also potentially helping me to defend against Genghisip who has Jan Zizka. I think it is important to not be too afraid of the +2 bonus of the Open Borders Agreement, because the additional MA already makes up a bit and mititgates the danger as you will have an additional MA when defending. So in this situation I think the benefits of the 4th MA (with me having Eleanor and wanting to go for a colonisation game) are bigger than the potential issues I might get because of the +2 bonus and Himmelstosh having one more MA.

Once again, another masterful play. Thank you and good luck!
Just started watching, really happy that there are Colossus, Suez, Isabella and Cook in the game :)

I can't imagine anything more incomprehensible than watching this video with no understanding of Through The Ages
When you colonize the entire world but unfotunately your neigbour digs the best canal...
