I do think Cagliostro, Ferry and Io are extremly good, with the right set they can build up SBA gauge quickly. If you are looking for DPS, Sandalphon, Siegfried and Vaseraga are the best. (but they are hard to play tho) As for your AI mates, I think Roseta is pretty useful since she is a good buffer. The rest us don't really matter I think, just pick the ones you like😅
It REALLY depends on several factors lol. Which fight are you trying to do? What are you looking for in a character? What allies have you got? Etc. Asking which characters are the strongest is not as simple as it sounds.
