- In this video, I will explain the detailed procedure to Create vSAN cluster in less than 15 Minutes.
I have explained the below Things in the Video:
Understand the Pre-requisites for the vSAN cluster
How to create a vSAN VMkernel interface?
Review the Disk requirements for the vSAN cluster
Why HA needs to turned off before enabling vSAN?
How to create a vSAN cluster?
How to claim disks for vSAN datastore?
How to review the disk groups?
Review vSAN fault domains
Review the vSAN datastore information
Enable vSphere HA after vSAN cluster creation

Nice but you miss important points, 1. How did you prepare Cluster for vSAN, 2. How did you prepare Network for vSAN...
Simple and easy to follow.
Thanks
Great tutorial sir !! thank you so much
Nicely explained
Hi SIr, Can you please post the video for 2 node cluster vsan upgrade
Sure I will try to post
Another great tutorial - thank you!
Which mtu size do you recommend on the Viano network? 1500 or 9000 jumbo frames?
It is always recommended to have 9000 mtu for vsan network....since my lab environment does not support jumbo frames...I kept it with 1500 mtu.... thanks for your comments.....and support
@@VMwareArenavideos You can’t use less than 9000 if creating vSAN, the monitoring/alert system will block you out from updates if large pings are not going trough, unless you’ll shush it 😁😁😁 ,
Good this
Excellent Dem, Thanks.
One think to clarify that I noticed as per this demo configuration, suppose to get 1.95TB capacity of vSAN datastore but its just 1.54 TB vSAN datastore is visible. so what happens to 0.41 space.
Manohar , basically some of the will be used for cache and reseved for vsan related mgmt
❤
If we have more than 2 host, is it possible to set VMs to host spesific host ?
Hi Brury, you mean is it possible to set one vm to stay on specific host??
If my understanding of your question is correct, yes it is possible. You can create host to vm rules under DRS rules....I will try to post the video about that.
Please do subscribe to channel if you not done yet. Thank you for your support.
I mean, if we have 3 host ( A B C ),is it possible to setting VMs in host A, will Vmotion only to Host C if host A down.
@@brurytangkere4874 you can create a vm host rule with host A and C. Add all the vm's in that rule. By that you can limit the vms to run on the host a and C. You can't limit to single host...
Ok its means its possible ya...okok.
If u don't mind don't forget to make a video.
@@brurytangkere4874 definitely I will do it...please do share our videos with your friends and colleagues..
Is there ANY way to avoid creating a Cache tier? I want to slap a 500GB pcie drive into 4 hosts and enable VSAN. But... I can't, because of stupid cache tier. Is it required?
No Jack....we need atleast one disk for cache tier and one for capacity tier....without that, we cannot enable vsan
@@VMwareArenavideos And is only one storage disk required? Is there advantages in having more than 1 storage drive per host?
@@jackh125 you need 1cache and 1capacity disk, up to 7 capacity. be sure to follow the hcl of vmware
Tried to follow your instructions. However with your accent and speaking a bit too fast, it is hard to understand you. For these type of videos it would be better to slow down, and try to better enunciate your words.
The only problem of this video is the "hot potato on the mouth" of the narrator.
🤣🤣🤣
